Santa Monica issuing evacuation order

The brush not being cleared and making the fires worse had been talked about for years, before Trump said anything.

I lived in CA for 45 years. What he said has been said for decades. Even before Newsom.

You don't need to be a genius to start addressing the problem, the problem that is not new or was quite well known.
Then why are people posting Trump tweets if the problem has long been known? This is exactly what I meant when I said this is becoming a topic straight of Politics.

Finally, someone who really grasps the magnitude of the situation and, like us all, is furious at the use of clothes pegs to fix wardrobe problems.

I imagine once all this is over, this is the take people will look back on most reverentially. Of course if Elon Musk joins the charge, as Jack insists he must, then we might actually see some intervention on improper use of clothes pegs at a governmental level.

2025's biggest tweet and news story unfolding in real time.
Imagine worrying about your wardrobe and how it looks on TV as the entire city is burning to the ground.

Perspective.

Not entirely sure the guy who plans to cut two trillion in government spending should be the one highlighting this, though.
You're letting your emotions you have for certain people get in the way of logic and reason. Come on, you're better than this, bro.

It's entirely possible that he's been standing there for 20 minutes with a cameraman and producer waiting for the studio to come to him to give his report, not able to go anywhere until it's done. It might not even have been adjusted by him. Where's the line? Is he allowed to wear clean clothes? Comb his hair? Maybe he has to wear the jacket because his network tells him he has to and it looks ridiculous (turns out he didn't manage to avoid that though!)

I think we're fundamentally arguing two sides of the same point, I'm saying "who gives a fuck about the jacket while the fires rage, is it really worth focussing on?" And so are you.

Jack Osborne thinks it's more important to weigh in on the jacket than the fire. This guy's out there informing the world while Jack's looking for reasons to sneer at people is one way you could read it.

I mean, I really don't care. I just think it's hilarious.

Last thing on my mind would be worried about my fit. Is all.

I wonder if a lot of people in California who can afford to are going to relocate after this. I mean celebrities and stuff, your average person is probably tied to the area through their jobs and stuff, but I wonder if some celebs are going to be like fuck it, I can fly to California for auditions and meetings, I'm moving to Arizona, Texas, wherever.

Rogan left California at the right time.

I am more concerned about those who actually lost houses and property there. Banking accounts will be fine but with house burning down and no insurance for the house they are basically homeless.

Sacramento starved Central and SoCal of water to save a tiny fish in the delta. The ash is on Newsom’s hands and he refuses to fix it. He should be prosecuted.
And it didn't work, the fish is classified as nearly extinct in the wild and they've had a captive breeding program for quite some time now. They could have diverted the water due to them being in captivity, and reintroduced at a later time. Now the LA environment is being destroyed with humans and local wildlife alike.

Newsome also received $20B of US taxpayer money to build water storage tanks, and he never did. WHERE IS THAT MONEY, GAVIN?

Central CA is filled with almond and pistachio farms that used to be green. Now when you drive by them on I5 they’re all dead with signs saying “Newsom’s dust bowl”.

And don't forget Nestle's water contracts allowed to persist while everyone else suffers from draught.

The federal government isn't going to save you. Have you been asleep with Hawaii, Asheville, etc?

As long as they don't move here yet continue to vote for the same kind of people that made them leave California.

Totally, there'll be some normal people who aren't celebrity millionaires who are looking at losing everything they own and potentially at an age where they're too old to get another mortgage. Even if you're young that doesn't take into account any outstanding balance on their current property.

Dude... FUCK Gavin Newsom. My Friend's place burned to the ground.
He feels betrayed by the city and state. How the hell did it come to looking like Hawaii all over again? cars left behind and being bulldozed on TV.... what in the fuck?

To the people above, look into how California dumped billions of gallons of drinking water into the ocean. Solidifying a fucking drought during an important time such as this.
He needs to see his day in court, Newsom.

Has the fire come closer to your area where it's looking like you'll need to get out or are you still considered "safe"?

His buddy Xi PingPing should have done a surprise visit. Fires would have been put out yesterday.

Obviously I'm being facetious with how they divert resources so easily and had homeless and the streets cleaned up in an unprecedented time for a commie march through SanFran.

I am completely safe. Where I am, I can see plumbs of smoke surrounding my city, but far away. The skies are blue here, after being red and brown for a couple of days.
The air isn't good to breathe, so we keep the doors and windows closed. The windstorm brought roof tiles and pieces of someones awning on our front yard.

Fire maps look like arson. there are reports and videos of people starting fires as well.
I have heard too much. From Antifa, to Homeless, to FEDS, lol... while I would LOVE to know if someone(s) were involved and if Arson, I wonder more so if we will ever get a straight answer from the MSM or will someone go out of their way to investigate this on their own? I am really tired of being lied to and the TV is a huge liar. Between and rock and a hard place, imo.

The fire chief was more interested in firing bigoted fire fighters than fighting fires.
What the fuck are you talking about? You yourself posted a Tweet from Elon showing evidence that the fire chief filed a report complaining about the Mayor’s cuts to fire protection a month ago and how it impacts their ability to fight fires. She literally did her job.

Elon is on it. By tomorrow Newsom is going to try to find a way to block X in his little "nation state"

It’s right there. You’re so busy retweeting and playing politics that you’re completely missing the details.

They can't allow ANYTHING positive to be said about a republican, or ANYTHING negative about Democrats.

No. They had the foresight to read the room before wild fire season began analyzing the budget cuts and lack of historical preventative measures by the those in charge on a federal, state, and municipal levels.
California property & casualty insurance has been a mess for a long time, and the state insurance department hasn't helped.

It's important to note that this industry is highly regulated, and companies cannot increase their rates without approval from the state. It's lled to a situation where they can't price the policies properly and have chosen to leave instead.

Here's an article with a lefty bent on it, https://calmatters.org/economy/2024/03/california-home-insurance-market/

Yep. All their "leadership" blunders have created the perfect storm.

The issue is that the California Department of Insurance can't approve a 50% or 75% rate hike because then that looks bad for the politicians. So they approve a 20% one, which still gives the politicians headaches. Then the next year the company says we are still underpriced by 35%. Then the DI says, "well we already gave you a rate hike last year." So on and so on. Until the company throws up its hands and leaves.

No one wants this guy. No one. I feel when we tried to kick him out, there was someone or something keeping him in there. He has ruined California and turned it into a welfare state and a laughingstock simultaneously. He looks increasingly nervous when he does TV, now. He better be because his time on the Boob Tube is growing short.
Regardless of politics in the state, both parties and everyone in between want him the fuck GONE. I'd prefer the vacuum of space, but I'll take him being removed from office without the ability to run for anything in the future. His policies are beyond toxic, they are detrimental to our way of life and he is bordering on being an enemy.

I didn't know Californians felt that way. I thought he was a shoo-in for the Democratic party ticket in 2028. He's got that Presidential look.
