ah well if its only 20 bucks or so i can understand. the books i need for uci are science textbooks that are over 100 each. the bookstore buys it for i think like less than half the price. i can understand the need for money...but damn.
 
I kept all the books for my engineering courses. Also, the books I sold did not go to the bookstore at my school. They rip you off.

Sold mine asap, 3 books for $126

I paid about ~$200 for them. Book buybacks are ripoffs, but I don't want to go through the trouble of personal selling.

And fuck textbooks in general, if I have to deal with a bunch of new editions next semester I'm going to have an aneurism. After 3.5yrs I've got over 10 unsellable books. Fucking profs (probably) taking bribes from publishers, assholes.

I'm writing an 8-page paper on the "implied author/reader" for my Narrative Theory class *long sigh*

I can't help browsing GAF but I promised myself not to touch my 360 until the paper is done. It's due at anytime tomorrow (11:59pm for all my professor cares...he wants us to email it to him) but I want to finish it NOW.

On page 2 (aka page 1 1/5 :lol)

What a frustrating semester. I made a fucking C in Java (And no, I'm still not sure why IT/IS majors have to take CS courses like Java and Advanced Java).

What a lousy fucking teacher. An hour of the two hours that we had for the final was spent on covering new material that was on the fucking final as well. Unbelievable.
 
I will be saying this tomorrow. Done with college, 2 quarters early, WOOT! Now time to be a bum and hope I can find something in this crap economy.

My last class was done last Friday, but I already got in contact with my next semester professors to start working on the projects right now and have a head start
 
Noon update: On the Burnaby Campus ONLY, exams scheduled today for noon, 3:30 pm and 7pm are cancelled due to snow and very poor driving conditions.

Exams continue as normally scheduled today at the Surrey and Vancouver campuses.

For those affected by the postponement of today’s exams on the Burnaby campus, the exams will be rescheduled for Tuesday Dec. 16.

Undergrad is over! Graduating tomorrow :D

Now I have to get one of those "real job" things.

Yet...not one of my final grades is up yet! Lazy teachers!
 
right as I was posting in this thread last night, a couple cuties (1 korean, 1 Japanese) called to hang out~

Headed out to a really nice restaurant in downtown Portland, and just ate, drank, and talked for almost four hours. The J-girl I kinda like, and is really really cute~ ^^

Anyways, it was a really good way to celebrate the end of finals for me :)

I was under the impression that universities usually forced their professors to publish stuff.

I think he's talking more about professors frequently changing the required textbook for their courses. If professors kept the same books longer, people could buy much cheaper used copies rather than new, and used books would maintain their value longer.
 
I've been off since Tuesday. I haven't needed to actually go to class since Thanksgiving but one of my stupid professors scheduled the exam Tuesday night.
 
I just have one project to finish, and then a paper writeup on that project and I get to graduate :D

Though job prospects aren't looking too hot so I might dive back in for a MS or PhD in CS :lol
 
I'm one week, five papers, one music composition, 150 math problems and six finals away from being done with this semester. fuck.

worst part is that i've been keeping up with my workload the whole semester - it's not like this (aside from the composition) has been hanging over my head for months.

3.46 was the closest I ever came (the only reason I got a B- was because I got complacent with the rest of my As and barely studied for my last final exam :lol)

I hate having an exam on top of a term paper for the same class >:( Although for this semester I shouldn't be complaining, I got a 97 on the term paper and prof ripped one of the essay questions on the exam (take home) straight from my paper/presentation :D
 
Any of you considering Portland State University: do it~ It's in the perfect spot downtown, safe, newly-developed, and most importantly it's very chill

At least with my major, it is~ hehe
 
mine still isnt over. i wrote my second exam today and it was awful. i ran out of time and had to guess on like 12 questions..... :( :( there was only 54 of them.
