Old School Delta Force operators had such a vibe

I think there was a strong sense of closed secrecy and just tacturn "keep it to yourself" attitudes. So using your spec-ops background to self-promote feels a little gauche although certainly plenty of military folks do it (and often OVER-do it). Not sure how much jealousy there is between these groups, (other than the marines towards everyone else because they have ZERO money for anything aside from crayons :p ) versus the press over emphasizing some over others. Obviously in the 80's we had several Delta Force type films after their more public activities, then it moved to SEALs.

Marines aren't SF. Recon is but I have no experience with them other than a few conversations in country. But there is absolutely jealously. I've seen it first hand. Think about it, you're pushing to be part of the most alpha group you can be in. Big ego, unhealthy competitive types make it through the cracks all the time. I haven't been around Delta, but they don't seem to be involved in anything that's competitive really with other groups. They're just fucking good and they know it.

I can't believe this guy had time to do delta force and lead Honey I shrunk the kids.

A lot of the guys when they leave the service fall by the way side from what ive read. They all dont end up in private jobs and if they do alot end up on a road to self destruction anyway. PTSD's a bitch.

Sad really.

They all seem to give off the vibe that if it wasn't for the special forces honing their potential/anger/dark energy then they would have become a serious problem for wider society.
