I only posted that in jest but they are cool. I have about 4-5. Bought each model from the launch of the first one. For an actual alarm clock project I think using this would be best and could be a cool project with kids.

How do you plan to do the smart mirror? I've never installed ubuntu or Kali either and have mostly remained on Raspbian (RPi OS) .

There are lots of different builds out in the wild. YT has several. It was just going to be a fun project to make because my wife seen one and really liked it, then saw the proce tag.
