My advice is to just watch the gameplay on youtube and see if you like it. There's about 4 or 5 different core gameplay elements that are part of the loop. Combat, chasing, conversations / cutscenes, searching, stealth, etc.I love quirky Japanese games but for some reason i hated Wanted Dead (maybe u expected too much from its Ninja Gaiden pedigree), how does Slitterhead compare to Wanted Dead? Is it more playable and cohesive or is it a similar hodgepodge of random stuff?

Like you need to infiltrate some place, but you can't just take control of a guard, you need to find some contrived way to go around.

I recently played Messiah with the same gimmick and that game put it to much better use.

What a weird game this is. Character models out of the PS3, and they all seem to have big-head-mode on by default. The game 'world' is very thin corridors and the game has Souls style combat, the last thing I expected.

It was very linear and obvious of what to do, but it is the first mission like that so maybe it gets trickier the further you go?

Did you beat all the shrines? I've encountered a couple that were just instant, overwhelming losses. Really strong bosses.Just finished the game and, wow, that was definitely a unique experience. Slight spoilers ahead.
On the technical side (don't care much for this so long as I can finish the game), game has a few hiccups in certain missions where there's a lot going on. No crashes, so that's a plus!
Slitterhead's gameplay loop, while it does come across as overly repetitive, makes sense when taking the story into context. Considering that, the padding rarely bothered me since the plot kept me intrigued until the end credits.
I was not expecting the use of CGI in this game, but when it came on screen: the action, body-horror, and production value of it shines through. I always left impressed watching them, given the AA feel of Slitterhead.
The visual novel style when speaking with the 8 characters in the Inter-Mission felt like a trip. I very much like the dazed aesthetic they went with.
Personal opinion on the score is 8/10. I understand that it's not for everyone, but I didn't come into this game expecting something conventional.
I hope the team is able to make more games despite the reception!

Game oozes that classic Japanese charm. Was laughing my ass off when I jumped off a building and transferred to another host before SPLAT. All the NPCs screaming.. lmfao
