My son and I watched the Looney Toons movie last night and it was pretty great.

The way it's tracking it wont hit $200M. Maybe $160M-ish. It's now at $148M and trending down falling fast. The domestic sales/theatre at $400 is barely better than Mickey 17 and Black Bag at about $350. And # of screens domestically has fallen too from 4,200 to 3,750. The movie seems to have a 50/50 split domestic vs international so if there's any overseas sales tracking not up to date you can add the domestic.

But you might get a big jump of $10s of M in one shot catching up because international tracking lags (?). On Numbers.com, most foreign countries last date of sales tracking is still March 31. So a week behind. Still, $200M doesnt seem reachable unless any lagging sales tracking are big dollars.

I was more interested SW somehow costs double. Even excluding all the SW reshoots/marketing, it's budget was already $270M! MC is half the production cost.

simple. Disney has no one willing to say no, so budget balloons easily out of control. With many of these films, Disney is essentially giving away an blank cheque to the producers. They only care about getting the "message" out to "modern audiences".

Crazy how Minecraft made approximately 8 bajillion dollars while I am already reading articles about how Snow White AKSHUALLY didnt fail because it was too woke.

It's almost like people want to go to the movie theater as long as it's a movie for them. Also, zoomers want their own franchises, not reheated shit from prior generations (REALLY bad news for Disney).
