Well thats good. Means that the remaster itself was good, despite some unecessary changes to harmless content. Also seems like the movies are doing some positive vibe for Sonic as well.
Generations is my favorite modern game, alongside Colors.

Does this make it the fastest selling sonic game? Most games in the franchise struggle to hit 1m over multiple years
That hasn't been the case for some time. Sonic Superstars sold over 1M units in two months (which kinda struggled due to hard competition from Super Mario Bros. Wonder), while Sonic Frontiers was at 3.5M units sold in six months.

3.5m in 6 months and 1m in 2 months is nothing comparable to achieving the same amount as the latter in 1 day. And I'm talking Moreso in the grand scheme of the franchise, most games after sonic 2 never sold that fast. Even if it's picking up now for the longest time sonic was lucky to get 2m

There's something positive about a sonic win... even if it's not that special haha.

Generations was cool, I'll probs pick this up sometime later on a sale

I paid good money for this Dynex!
It's Sonic, so it's not surprising, but I like seeing good games get rewarded. We've had a really good run of that lately.

Not surprising, since the original game was fantastic. I still play my Xbox 360 copy! The old online servers were still up the last time I checked as well.

Sonic has regained its credibility
Sega is remaking 2 games from the Dreamcast era and 3 games from the Genesis era.
All that's missing now is Virtua Fighter 6, Skies of Arcadia, Phantasy Star remake in the FF7 standard and a Panzer Dragon that isn't an indie game.

Generations was considered the last real good 3D game, so of course not only a remaster of it but then a full on expansion becoming pretty much a sequel to it was going to do great. SEGA is smashing it this year.

This game is in every plataform, so kinda expected.

Is it, though? How did the original Generations do? Sonic Frontiers is the best selling 3D Sonic ever and it's passed 3.5 million (last reported number about a year ago), that of course includes the game being on sale etc.

I think Sonic is on a decent streak actually. I liked Frontiers a ton. Superstars was a throwback that was way overpriced but I did like the timed PS+ demo.
Did they actually improve the graphics? Because Generations already looks great on Xbox ...

Based on footage I think the new version looks more crisp because the old game has that 7th gen bloom and blur. But as I only have the x-enhanced version on my Xbox i am not sure.

It appears to be one of the best Sonic games from what i hear, so its well deserved.

Sonic Frontiers was a step in the right direction, this is another, can't wait to see what they do with Frontiers 2

probably the best selling 3d Sonic game, I don't think anything is going to beat sonic 2 and the sonic 1 genesis pack in
4 million seems the limit for the franchise under current conditions.
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games 2007 sold more than Sonic 2.

Now make Sonic Adventure 3. Same team
i don't believe they will ever make a Sonic Adventure 3, its just a pipe dream by fans.

SEGA wanted to experiment outside the Adventure brand since some people complained it doesn't resemble the classic games.

But some projects since then have been influenced by these games, Shadow the Hedgehog is a continuation of the storyline, Sonic 2006 is essentially Adventure 3(just badly made) with a realistic artsyle,Sonic Unleashed started as Adventure 3 before evolving into something else, and Sonic Frontiers is the new formula that evolved from Sonic Adventure
