If only I'd known how easy it was to acquire harem powers.

I'm sorry for ever doubting you, show.

That final scene was basically the definition of "showstopper." Not only did it encapsulate the themes and feelings of the show, but it also was a great demonstration of what jazz was all about, blending and changing old songs into a thing new, different, and with a presence unique to that particular moment. Ritsuko explicitly articulated that when she commented on how
this was different from when Kaoru played for her, even though it was the "same" song.
And the much-hyped Bahi JD delivered as promised.

It's pretty remarkable how well this arc ended considering how it began.

Now that i've caught up reading the thread, here:

Is this show consistently funny? It's not the sort of thing that I would usually watch at all, but I get pretty tempted sometimes by all of the great gifs. If these are just average moments and not highlights, I could probably be persuaded to give this a try come summer.

Upotte is awful and you're all awful for watching it.
Says the person with a Nisemonogatari avatar!
If thats what that's called, yes. I dont know who BahiJD is nor do I care. I just liked the look of that scene.
Posts like these make me sad.
I'm guessing Shaft got complaints from insecure otaku, they have removed ALL manservice from Nisemonogatari's BD release:
SHAFT has no integrity, not that we didn't already know that.

How did Cubic know too? Puzzle and the strategy was actually the most compelling part. I really only had issues with the background
Freecell blaming Kaito for the mom is odd and as if they were kids and Kaito believing it is strange. I dont think Kaito is even responsible for it. I kind of hope it is deeper than this.

I wonder when will we see Klondike sama.

That only plays in the last episode iirc
one of the most memorable anime scenes for me

wait a second... you havent even watched it!

I didnt have to!
The song has been around.
It made me want to watch the show.
Unfortunately i have worked 14 days and been off for 2 the last couple weeks so I just havent had time to do anything.

How did I miss this?

Cool stuff.

.

Yeah, I really enjoyed how
the songs they merged were tunes that were "based off/introduced by" each other during the course of the show thus far.

Quite the chemistry displayed.

They're "highlights".

I would say so, yes.

Even more so in the second season. I enjoy it and it manages to make me chuckle.

Alright just finished reading all the Random Curiosity posts for the first season of Kore wa Zombie. I was kinda hazy on some of the details when I was watching the first episode of the second season but now I'm ready. Time to watch 6 episodes of pure magical boys zombie comedy

Indeed; this occurrence has destroyed any argument that there is something "different" or "deep" about the lewdness in the -monogatari shows. Not that there was really any merit in those arguments, but now they are completely finished. It's just smutty pedoshit.

Dark days for SHAFT fans.

Only the ones who thought there was some deeper level to certain shows; I'm sure the light of this day remains undimmed for the "true" fans. SHAFT has truly shown that their love for their fans

One of these shows promised perversion in spades and actually delivered. One didn't. I value honesty in advertising, as should any decent person!
Was Nisemonogatari that disappointing? :p

They don't mind the darkness, not one bit.

Well, they are SHAFT fans so I assume they get used to darkness.

When can the SHAFT backlash begin? :(

I've been reading the manga... And, damn. This must be one of the most faithful manga-to-anime adaptations in history. All the little details in the show are exactly the same as they are in the original drawings, and they're perfectly pacing it at a two chapters per episode rate.

... And that's such a shame, because it's about to get really good. Oh well. At least the show's guaranteed to end on a high note.

Apollon 7 - good. Those running animation sequences near the end - good.

I feel like this would make a good live action series or film.

Yeah, that would be slightly more fucked up had she done that.

Do you remember Akaiwa telling some of the girls they could live with him for know because his parents were on vacation?

Vaguely. I thought it might have been a cover up of some sort, but that doesn't really make sense.

This is amazing. I'm saving that.

This is incredible. Why couldn't his debut work be more along the lines of this :(

What's the criteria for you making that claim? I'm actually curious because I found Nise to be an absolute abomination.

It's the show I enjoyed the most out of everything I've watched this year so far except for the continuing Fate/Zero.

This is not difficult to understand.

No, I mean, why was it enjoyable? Unless you're a very simple person I think everyone has a criteria for liking a show.

I personally think it's hilarious as is the first season (though not as much). But I mean, I'm a sucker for kitchen sink worlds that are completely unreserved about their absurdity. I mean the main character is a zombie who is also a magical girl and he's living with another magical girl, a silent necromancer, a ninja vampire, and a bladeless fan. It is completely unfathomable to me how anyone wouldn't think that is awesome.

Cubic is stalking and monitoring kaito actions with his spy robots everyday . To the point that he knows if kaito goes into cheat mode or not ...
Cubic has went across the line where admiration become spying since Season 1.

i agree the "intro" is done and everything after this part is almost 100% gold i'm still hoping that 13 episodes are hidden in some broadcasting station agenda somewhere ...
the flask plan saga would have been great IMO to see animated

Yeah, I'll cram this into my summer somewhere.

At the same time, what the author thinks is frequently overrated. Some pieces of art or literature just work in ways the creator didn't intend!

Death of the author discussion incoming?

Yeah, I'm still holding onto a sliver of hope since nothing is actually confirmed and we're only able to infer this information from a BD episode listing. It's probably not looking good though, but dammit I want to see the flask plan.

No, I mean, why was it enjoyable? Unless you're a very simple person I think everyone has a criteria for liking a show.

I like the way it's written, I like most of the humor, I love the visual style and direction applied to the franchise in general, it's pretty to look at, and I like most of the characters. It was generally just fun to watch, observing the idiosyncrasies of the characters, and the basic story was enough to hold everything together.

If I were to point out problems, it would be its uneven pacing, the story, while good enough, wasn't really all that substantial coming off of Bakemonogatari (not that I cared that much anyway, but there you go), Nadeko is still a terrible character, and all the usual facepalm-worthy SHAFTisms are present in spades (gotta take the bad with the good).

If you want me to write an essay on it, I'll tell you in advance that I don't really feel like it.

Nah, not even. Not sure how you could even say that after this of all episodes.

No, this is fine. I wasn't expecting like a 1000-word essay or anything. Just a brief explanation of your thoughts. Thanks.

One of those episodes where I had to eat something while watching. Melk knife is cool and versatile. Im dying to see Zebra, but I wish the designs for characters were more down to Earth like Komatsu or Coco.
