I've said this in another thread but as someone living in a third world country a lot of the american woke culture seems deeply privileged, specially when it comes to demanding things from and/or criticizing foreign companies and products. It's people who know they live in a major and influential country with a big important market (the biggest market for gaming in fact) so they feel entitled to being pandered to by everyone in the world.

Notice how when a game is made in Japan, no one in the west gets angry if it doesn't feature any of the prevalent minorities IN JAPANESE CULTURE (people from Korea, China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Brazil, Indonesia, etc or native minorities like Ainu or Ryukyuans). No one is like "Where are the south east Asians in FFXVI?!?!?!?!". It's always about the social issues in America, it's always about representing prevalent minorities in America.

Of course from a business perspective it makes sense, because America IS the biggest market for games and you obviously want to appeal to it.
But isn't that a privilege?
