I wasn't around here for your initial write-up, TC, but wow is is awesome. Thank you for all of that work!

I played the demo and knew I would enjoy it, but something about EVE's movement felt off to me. I have also heard that the demo felt a little bit more soulslike than the final game. I am okay with the final game felling different than a soulslike. It's about damn time I play this game. I need an action game in my life with some flair and some titillation.

Finally finished up the platinum just now, that Nier Automata DLC was a pretty good reason to return for a NG+ playthough. I'm pretty amazed by how much stuff they have added since launch. Tons of new costumes and the MK2 exospines/gear keeps the sense of progression.
I hope it gets at least one of the awards it's been nominated for. It really is a great game and I hope the accolades encourages Shift Up to create more full fledged games!

Finished Stellar Blade with the Platinum. Looks like that will be the last game I beat and Platinum this year. I enjoyed the story and gameplay along with the things I said in my post above. Game didn't over stay it's welcome by being an overly bloated game thank goodness. I was engaged through out my two playthroughs. I actually got the best ending(imo) on the first playthrough luckily because of my need to finish every mission I can and find everything on first playthrough. It naturally led me to it basically.

Things like the outfits, I got them all but I only used the planet diving(2nd) the entire first playthrough once I unlocked it early on and used the planet diving(2nd) v2 in the second playthrough once I unlocked it early on in it lol. I dunno it just felt like those were the few ones that didn't feel atmosphere breaking to me so I stuck to those 2 and never changed them despite unlocking the other ones as I played. Also kept her hair style default.

yeah the game finishes really strong too. Last 1/4 is easily the best.

I think my favorite suits to use were default and cybernetic bondage NG+. Sexy but also not immersion breaking either.

I was having so much fun with the game, but about 15 hours in, the moment I reached the great desert it fell off a cliff and died. Enemies have triple the health from before and it drains my desire to continue playing. I've been doing most side quests and I don't feel I'm under-leveled or anything.

It helps a lot to learn the combos one by one.
And there were enemies in great desert, which I had to skip and come back later as well.

And as a last resort - it's no shame to play on easy mode.

Use your skills, it disintegrates normal enemies.

Level up the triangle button one to the max and everything dies fast. Also, equip gear and level up skills that increases the beta energy recharge. If you dont want to fight all the time on the open world, equip the gear that increases your stealth, so you can insta kill most enemies.

There's also gear that increases your gun damage, so you can also just shoot everything from far.

Also, dont waste gear slots on defensive stuff, go for crit chance and attack.

Finally, dont forget to level up your gear.

There's a pacing problem in the first open area, like in Uncharted 4. The first thing to do in both deserts is to activate the fast travel. Second, master the basic combos/counters/burst skills. The stealth kill move is a life-changer in this area. Avoid robot lancers, those are too hard.

I didn't really have a problem in the first desert area, even the robots were fine with counters. The second desert area on the other hand feels like the game skipped the middle part and went right to the end. It's not impossible or anything, but it's a very big and sudden spike in difficulty/monster health for no apparent reason.

those effing robots that shoot projectiles are the hardest thing ever to fight in groups. I don't find the lancers too bad. Just parry parry parry.

The PC version of Stellar Blade is expected to outperform the console version due to the larger AAA PC market share and the growth of single-player action games in Asia.
Shift Up is ensuring success by analyzing past console-to-PC releases and implementing optimization (including UMPC support -> Steam Deck), user convenience improvements, additional content, and tailored marketing strategies to maximize performance in the PC market.

"supplementary content"......aka nude mods I'm sure :p

I'm at the first point of no return and just now realized I should buy the Important Items at the digger shop . . . I feel like i was giving myself a hard mode by not using that shop to level up.
