Aw crap, I just realized this is all because I have expectations for KyoAni now.
I wish there were an easier way to add older anime in MAL. Like maybe a way to display anime by years or seasons in a simple list so I can add stuff I've forgotten about.
For me, a perfect ten means I enjoyed the series to the fullest extent that I possibly could. Yami is actually a horribly produced show with awful writing. but it is so incredibly awful that it is really REALLY fun to watch, so I gave it a 10.
In other cases, Fate Zero and Puella Magi Madoka Magica are well deserving of tens on their own merits, but I also happened to highly enjoy them as well.
Haibane Renmei is a show I consider to be actually perfect as well as the movie Millennium Actress.
Based uponGoogle reverse image searchmy extensive and sophisticated knowledge of art history, I can tell you that they are both paintings of Annunciation -- one by Leonardo da Vinci and the other by Fra Angelico.
Using Advanced Search you can generate a list of anime that began airing between two specific dates. Basically, all you need to do is to select your start and end dates and select "start date" as the only filtering column.
Much better than mine, at least, for manga.Looking at everyone else's neat little bell curves I feel like I'm doing something wrong.
That seems to involve work.
He who does not work, does not.....uhh......have an accurate MAL!
Granted, Garzey is a case where either a 10 or a 1 is acceptable. I have a space at the bottom of my list for things that defy scoring:
I like helping! If I didn't know you better, I'd think you were trying to become a professor on all things Gunslinger Girl!
...or at least on European art.
I feel like I should be offended!If I didn't know you better

This seems to be a mini-story that won't be part of the TV series. Look's like they'll be showing a new one via YouTube every week for an unknown length of time, taking down the previous week's each time a new video gets posted.
It would seem Shiawasette Naani is too secular for your special list!
According to MAL, Nijine is in charge of the music for Chu2koi (I guess I'll get used to using this now). The only things I've seen that Nijine has worked on are BakaTest and Mashiro-iro Symphony. I don't remember the music for BakaTest being anything remarkable. As for Mashiro, I personally liked its music even though it was pretty standard for Manglobe projects and only a little above the standard of regular VN adaptations. That music was terribly mediocre.
Of course, I am still watching the series.
I'm aware of that sentiment, brother.
I'm already 20 chapters deep. It's so wrong, but so very right. So, who's going to be the canary down the mine?
Dat bump.Sket Dance 77 (end)
And though Crunchyroll didn't show it, passing the torch back to Jump's other flagship comedy series:
Umbrella holster where.
Snazzy-looking bonus item from RightStuf for the first-run buyers of [C]. Too bad the show's not really worth it.
Anyone know if there's enough Bleach for another season yet? I actually read the last month's worth of chapters thanks to getting spoiled onlurking ManGAF and based on that alone, I'm actually kind of excited to see the new stuff eventually get animated.Yamamoto's Bankai HOOOOOOOLYYYYYYYY SKDHGKDSHOGOFHGFI
No, that's when aunt tits gets animated and you know it.I wake up to find Nozoki Ana is getting an anime? Best day ever!

After Tales of the Abyss, I'm kinda disillusioned about the idea of an interesting Tales of anime adaptation.
Well, if an anime is created before the game is localized, I'll probably avoid it so I can play the game blind.
Also, there's a rumor going around that (again by the way) Tales of Xillia: The Animation will be coming, obviously done by ufotable. We'll see how it turns out if the rumor is indeed true. It'll most likely be confirmed by the next Viva Tales magazine.
I think the next Viva Tales magazine is already out... I don't see anything about a ToX anime on the cover at least.

Were any of the Tales anime not terrible?
I could be mistaken. Just saying it's a rumor. It'd be nice if it came back again.
Were any of the Tales anime not terrible?
Well, the final chapter (finally!) of the final arc in the Tales of Symphonia OVA series (fucking long!!) is done I believe, and will be coming out soon. So there's definitely a Tales OVA team in Ufotable which is suddenly free to do... something else now.
I've noticed that the Tales OP in Xillia and Xillia 2 by ufotable is drastically different from what we've seen with ToS and TotA. The latter has really washed out colors and isn't as vibrant as the former. We'll see what styles they use.
The problem for me isn't the artstyle. ToX's OP is really great relative to the other games' OPs. I have no doubt that ufotable can deliver visually. My problem with TotA was that the Tales of games generally provide a poor plot structure for anime, in my opinion. I don't know, maybe Sunrise didn't handle TotA as well as they could have. I just think that there are too many RPG-ish elements, like travelling back and forth and dungeons for the sake of dungeons, that don't translate well to anime.
Let me simplify that for you: Tales games all have SHIT stories.
I played the Ar Tonelico series. The Tales games could do worse.
Ar Tonelico girls > Tales girls though.
Do you remember promising animator Hiroyasu Isida (Tete), responsible of animation shorts like Fumiko's Confession & rain town? Well, today in Japan (September, 28) is going to be released a book with the making-off from said Fumiko's Confession short plus a DVD including this work (http://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/4990665503/), but the most interesting thing of all is that it is said Mr. Isida is now working on a new place called Studio Colorido (スタジオコロリド. It was formed at the end of this past year, and promises to be an ideal place for those creators that want to work in the Japanese animation industry without suffering the baggage other studios created in regards to asphyxiating and impoverishing working conditions, disassociating themselves from such job culture:
フミコの告白+メイキングブック

I know anyone can say things like this, and its not the first one to try... but this seems like a cool studio already helping him publish this!
