Gatchaman Crowds is stand alone, you don't need to watch the old series. Insight is a sequel to Crowds S1. If you've watched Casshern Sins or Yatterman of the Night, Crowds is like that - essentially a reboot but with references to the older series.

Samurai Flamenco - END

Damn, what a ride. Samurai Flamenco has got to be one of the weirdest shows I've ever come across. It's a mish mash of a bunch of genres, and it was never really content with sitting still. Truth be told, I didn't like the erratic changes at first (plus the arc immediately following the incredibly good King Torture arc) was a little on the weak side, but the show manages to eventually find its footing. The best part about this show was its characters; they seem basic and shallow, but there was a shocking amount of depth to them. I was seriously invested in their problems

and I love how the story was pretty much about Masayoshi coming into his own person. Which happened, thankfully, the finale was ridiculously good.

Just a question, did His and Her circumstances (or Kare Kano) ever release in Blu-ray. Just notice the quality of the animation look much older than it's. Is they a reason with this as I though the quality will be a bit better but not with the screenshot.

Nope. Its way too old and pre-HD. The art style and era it was created, not to mention that Rightstuff/Nozomi owned the rights for a long time kept it from an HD release.
Perhaps now that they broke the ice with Utena, we might see this or other beloved Nozomi properties get HD treatment, though it wouldnt improve KareKano much.

Some nice use of colors and shots. Aztec/mayan fantasy is pretty cool I guess, if not for the neat history art.
Ancient evil awakens and heroes needs to defeat it and it's evil spawns, eh, as long as I get my fantasy fix I'll be fine. Pretty sure I saw MC breakdance fight in the OP, might b cool.
Fuck the bunny ears though, her ponytail even makes it look like she has a little tail! JAPAAAAAN

Good first episode. Yu reminds me of Lelouch, except more of a dick. Characters all seem solid. I like the premise of incomplete powers. Should allow for some creativity. Little sister is amusing. I think I'm going to like this show.

The opening of the first episode of War in the Pocket stands as one of the best mecha battles ever animated. The intelligent framing and structure of the whole encounter, plus that Mitsuo Iso animation - pure gold.

Hajime is very enjoyable, along with the rest of the cast. The setting is pretty neat too.

But to tell the truth, I'm not really "getting" this show so far. Like, it's a sentai sort of thing, I can see that. But nothing in particular has happened that's gotten me "hooked" on this show per say.

I guess it's because the show is still in a set-up state of sorts, but I'm finding myself wondering what this show does that makes it such a sensation around here. I guess I'll find out in the later episodes.

I enjoyed my time. The dysfunctional relationship will be fun to see. It was pretty much like the first OVA episode. I think the fight scene (however short it may be) was more fun in the OVA, here there were no "explosions" or effects like that.
Another thing that I noticed was the lore in the beginning wasn't visualized with the samurai and Tora which was a bit disappointing. That said I look forward to more.

If its like the OVAs then it should be a joy to watch

The more I watch this the more intrigued I am by the world that it's set in. For one thing, does the world

exist outside of Gold Crown Town? How does the world actually work? We've never seen anyone leave or enter, the exception being the the travelling performance troupe from episode six, but since we've seen the amount of control Drosselmeyer exerts over the world seemingly being able to insert things into it at will, such as Edel, they could just as easily been written in when they were required and erased after they'd played their part. He also has the power to influence locations within the world itself as we can see with the lake from episode twelve - we even see here that once the lake is no longer useful it is erased (Mytho calls this an "illusion") and, while it disappears in a cloud of raven feathers, it's Drosselmeyer who presents the lake to Kraehe in the first place. In addition to this, Drosselmeyer's role in the world and his supposed backstory don't line up. He cannot just be a dead man who didn't finish his story, otherwise why is he so powerful? But then we have his interactions with the characters in the story and he is shown to be able to actually travel to their world via the "time door", so he is not just an observer either. Has he essentially written himself into the story? This would explain the his backstory and why everyone knows about him and his fate. Ahiru's confusion to the world around her, such as when she doesn't know who Cat-Sensei is, her constant astonishment that there are animals living among the regular students, when she shows her ignorance as to who Drosselmeyer is and when she doesn't know the story of the Prince and the Raven despite the fact that literally everyone else knows it would seem to suggest that everyone else's memories and knowledge was written in by Drosselmeyer himself, perhaps even to the point where their very existence is owed solely to Drosselmeyer. In this case I don't know why Ahiru is the sole exception, but I don't think being stupid quite cuts it - there has to be a deeper reason why she is the only one who doesn't quite fit.

This is all probably really obvious and I'm not too sure why I haven't been paying as much attention to it before now, but it's still very interesting. Rambling over!

This is very true - I've already seen it before, but it's definitely hilarious. It's a very odd show, making whole story arcs out of details that at first seem throwaway or superfluous, certainly not the generic SoL anime I thought it was going to be.

Okay, yeah, I really like this show's brand of humor. The Mediator and Assistant are great and don't take anything too seriously which makes this great. It like to have fun with itself. Hopefully I can get through all of it today...

Gatchaman Crowds Insight - #00 Inbound

Enjoyable! That's about all I can say about it, since it isn't much more than a teaser for the new season while bridging it with the first season. I'm glad that the tone and the enthusiasm is in-tact, and that Hajime is still filled with positive energy even with that jerk inside of her. Looks like the story this time is going to deal with malcontents operating in the shadows trying to destablize society even after a sort of peaceful utopia was reached. An analogy to ISIS in the Gatchaman world? Should be interesting!

What a fantastic opener to the new season. That creepy android girl villain is all sorts of cool, and the other 2 are pretty interesting as well.

Don't know what to think of the little girl in the bikini, that's a bit much even for this series.

It looks like they are going to be ramping up the crazy even more, and the show looks absolutely fantastic. I'm already left wanting more.

God is this series so good. This episode was sweet and heartwarming. Seeing Ren as a baby was too cute. The end to the episode was great, just seeing Candy Lady and Ren sleep next to each other.

I suggested Full Moon to him too Im pretty sure.
Its a rather large undertaking though with 52 episodes.
But you know how amazing it is.
