Sounds like a particularly Swedish problem. Take it up with your trade authorities?
Its because of tax and higher cost on everything in the supply chain, like salaries for employees and rent. Scandinavia is also a small market, more specialized when it comes to localization which adds to cost, and we dont get games produced in large quantities, like Germany get.
At least, this is what GPT told me.
In short, its fucking Bergsala. They make everything more expensive because of how they operate.
If you live in Malmö, just cross the bridge and get yourself a dannish Switch 2 for 4249 kr, which represents 570 euro.
And then add Mario Kart World for 100 dollar. Joy-Con 2 for 110 dollar. Pro Controller for 120 dollar. Prices in Sweden is completely fucked. That stupid fucking extra tax the government put on for electronics (kemikalieskatt) is some massive bullshit too. Sweden sucks ass. Bergsala too.
Aren't you one of the richest countries there? You have money. Socialism won't pay for itself.
WTF? Did Sweden join US as 51st state instead of Canada or Greenland when nobody was looking?EU prices:
Base unit: €470
With MKW: €510
Swedish prices:
Base unit: 6,800 SEK = $685/€622
With MKW: 7,500 SEK = $756/€686
I'm in absolute shock. What the FUCK is going on with this shit?! Why are we paying €152-176 more than the rest of the EU? My guess is the greedy assholes at Bergsala. Why the fuck can't Nintendo handle their own Nordic distribution?
I'm not getting a Switch 2 anymore, which feels incredibly sad, but I just can't support this absolute bullshit.
WTF? Did Sweden join US as 51st state instead of Canada or Greenland when nobody was looking?
How do you go from €510 including VAT to €686!?
I thought prices are common across EU members for imports like that? Is this because you don’t have companies like Nintendo or say Sony or Samsung selling directly to retailers? And here I was thinking prices of electronics in Poland were bad (~10-15% higher than western EU prices).
Insanely high taxes on just about everything which adds up. Plus our currency is shit. Importing from Europe doesn't help either.WTF? Did Sweden join US as 51st state instead of Canada or Greenland when nobody was looking?

Warehouses, employees, distribution etc..., thats part of the chain as well. All of that is more expensive in the nordic countries. Why would things in the supply chain cost more in Sweden? It's not like they are made here, lol.
Yeah but then wont you get danish words on the box and manual? I rather have the plague. If you live in Malmö, just cross the bridge and get yourself a dannish Switch 2 for 4249 kr, which represents 570 euro.

Well, we will be joining you soon on the currency front plus some extra tariff love after Liberation Day (liberated from $$$).We do, Sony and Samsung at least, not sure about Nintendo. EUR -> PLN exchange rate was much worse not too long ago so maybe they're factoring that in for some reason. Also higher prices of energy, taxes etc. it all probably adds up.

Swim across to Germany and go to MediaMarkt?Yeah but then wont you get danish words on the box and manual? I rather have the plague.
Socialism don't come cheap.
Wouldn't know, Sweden doesn't have socialism. We're one of the most capitalist countries in the world, but combined with social welfare.
Semi-joke post. Though if you compare Sverige with USA. It's socialism with capitalist based economy. It used to be at least. I know things changed in Sweden over the last 20 years.
You can get a PS5 Pro for just $200 more than the bundle here in Sweden, $950. I can pretty safely say that there's a big likelihood that I'll skip this Nintendo generation. I can't motivate that kind of price just for Mario and Zelda which are the only games that really interest me. Lol lmao evenEU prices:

No it's not. Social democracy is not socialism. We have one socialist party, and they've never been in the government. Everyone else is social democratic, center liberal, or conservative (the latter two making up the government at the moment, with a conservative emphasis).

Shit's cheap as fuck in Japan. Pretty fucking cheap in the US too unless they up the price for tariffs....but even if they do, WTF. What kind of tariffs is Sweden working with that the price is this high?
Well, you have to pay so Malmöers can have all those things that a paragon of morality like the Swedish society owes them...EU prices:
Base unit: €470
With MKW: €510

Correction: It's the Finns who are the most happiest people. That's the Danes, not the Swedes. The Swedes are the ones that get regular bombings in every bigger city. The Danes have a conservative migration policy, the Swedes are practicing la la land like Germany.
People use "socialism" as shorthand for the government redistributing large amounts of money. Sweden is obviously a capitalist economy, just with absurd level of taxation. At least all the "asylum seekers" are well taken care of with your tax kroner lol
Yeah but then wont you get danish words on the box and manual? I rather have the plague.

With some of the world's highest taxes. Everyone here, please don't listen much to this guy when it comes to facts about Sweden or politicsWouldn't know, Sweden doesn't have socialism. We're one of the most capitalist countries in the world, but combined with social welfare.
With the help from magical trolls I guess anything‘s possible these days.Wouldn't know, Sweden doesn't have socialism. We're one of the most capitalist countries in the world, but combined with social welfare.
I don’t know why Nintendo think those prices are remotely reasonable.
At least there wont be a problem picking one up at launch
When it comes Nintendo price is not an issue for me

#26 USA
The Economic Freedom of the World index, published annually by the Fraser Institute, measures the level of economic freedom in countries by assessing factors such as the size of government, legal structure, access to sound money, and freedom to trade.
