Switch 2 is the easiest day 1 purchase in gaming history ever

They've had 8+ years to expertly craft every nook and cranny of this open world map (including any extra areas/courses they have planned for future DLC). I don't think you have to worry about too many "boring and empty spaces".

The MK Direct coming in 4 days should show exactly why Nintendo is pricing this as a premium purchase.
TOTK was boring as shit, and I think XCX has a pretty awful open world gameplay loop as well. Nintendo is a great developer but not everything they touch turns to gold.

It's pure click bait.

His post exactly paralleled the way I felt about Switch 2; that it's not that strong out the gate, but better buy it anyway because games are coming and neither MK nor the system are getting any cheaper. In fact, you left a reaction on the post. So now anyone who says that is clickbait?

You're suffering some bias here. I said it would have been easy to wait on MK for more games. That means I'd still be paying $50-80 for Kart, at some point. Your reaction was to say "it's not personally for you". Get a grip.

Fair enough. But I just do not see the point.

It's funny. The house has got 2 switches but we as a family still play the Wii U most. It's just daft fun family time and Mario Kart is Mario Kart is Mario Kart. If I'm going to play a game game I'll hit Steam or Xbox.

I've never been less interested in a console and both my daughters feel the same. (We're UK).

If I was in the same living situation now as when WiiU came out. I don't think NintendoLand would ever have gone away.

So the anecdotal eveidence is out. How this has any bearing on proceedings escapes me. My siister is a casual gamer that bought the Switch for Animal Crossing. She has pre-ordered a Switch 2 with Mario Kart World and new pro controller...

Do I win a prize?

Congratulations you posted your anecdotal evidence. You get the same thing the other guy did, a chance to express yourself to the Internet.

I hope it was everything you dreamed.

Just curious, what country are you from?

It's the very definition of a drive by comment designed to troll. If you do not see this then I don't know what to tell you.
You must be new here. The other GAFers who know me know that i'm kind of like the opposite of a troll - i will instead bully you into a philosophical debate about the meaning of life, gods existence and the existential dread of living in modern society. The silly video games stuff is just my bait.

It was sarcastic. My anecdotal story prooves nothing just like the opposite. I am from the U.K if that that helps.

Right, your anecdotal story proves nothing just like the opposite. Therefore it is not necessary for either one to complain that something false has been "proven" with an opinion.

It does help, I was testing you because preorders aren't available everywhere ;)

I ordered a bundle at the same time as my suister. You hsve to do this in person and pay up front. I quite like bing tested. ;)

Yeah preorders are available in the U.K. I'm gonna try not to project my personal take on preordering the pro controller in full though lol, it sounded weird but hey, people do stuff. Gonna have to just trust you this isn't a drive by!

Why does it matter? You guys are getting way too defensive about people's subjective opinions.

I concede this exchange has virtually no content of value to anyone, but I'm more giving him a hard time for being defensive about subjective opinions.

"Drive by clickbait" isn't an opinion of the topic at hand, it's the dismissal of another. Informing me that a game isn't for me personally if I'd purchase it this year (but not the same day as him) isn't an opinion, it's an insult. So yeah, I was ticked off. By saying both anecdotes were actually the same (one not being "mere clickbait"), it was actually progress.

Since he was slinging such "false clickbait" claims over that anecdote, I found the suddenly manifested one that his sister already preordered it with a Pro controller a little convenient...since you know a lot of people are waiting to figure out how to preorder. If he said he was from USA I'd have told him to GTFO lol

No problem.

I can appreciate your perspective.

I would also say — in the broadest terms possible, gamers are a bunch of co-dependent snowflakes. They can't just be excited about something. They have to convince 1000 people to also be excited about the same thing before they can be at peace. I too fall into that bucket from time to time.

I am sure the Switch 2 will be amazing for some and not so amazing for others. We all should be ok with that regardless of some random FUD post that we see from time to time.

Easy avoid for me.

The console price isn't the issue. The variable pricing model and cost of accessories put me off.

Shame because it looks like a great system, but I'm not letting Nintendo peg me this time.

Would be the easiest day 1 purchase for any console up until now, but got burned on the 3ds release and learned the hard way that waiting always is the better pick.
Also 100 dollar starting price for mario kart is just like some kind of joke (check up the price for the game in sweden if you doubt me).
Especially since it at least looks like it builds on the mk8 drifting system and doesnt seem to go closer towards mkds or double dash drifting which imo is way more fun(active), realized that earlier this year when just picking up mkds again with a fresh saveslot and ended up not putting down the game until i unlocked all stages, something ive not close to done in 8 for some reason, even thogh on paper it should be the best with so many different stages!
