Yep. I played the game for 10 hours, and instantly bought the Expansion Pass giving exactly 0 fucks.

I haven't been to those two caves yet, but I had another where I also thought I had looted everything, but there was a well hidden ladder up to a chest that turned the marker grey.
So you must be missing something as they should turn grey when everything has been opened.
I wouldn't worry about it if you fail it, it was just another way to do a part of the get junior quest. The mission just goes to his casino and arena and you and the dwarfs kill everyone, so if you already fought in the arena, and worked you're way in the casino, its not needed.

Just got done with White Orchard, moved on to Velen. This game has one of the longest intros to a game I've ever seen. Literally, White Orchard is like a 10 hour preface to the actual game. Crazy amount of stuff. I left with a few "?" left on the map. I'll return to them eventually.
Also, stumbled on some level 10 deserter's and had to run away like the level 4 coward I am. Velen is so friggin' big.

If your level is too high are some of the contracts disabled? I'm level 10, and a level 7 contract is selectable but it doesn't show anywhere on map.

The start of Velen is amazing IMO, it's when the game went from good to "there's a stain in my shorts".

Yeah, the monster's attack patterns, attack boxes and hit boxes are a bit unbalanced. I'd definitely agree with you. Sometimes neither of Geralt's dodges are quite the right movement to avoid their attacks, it's in a grim middle ground. And the slow momentum into dodge/attack doesn't help either. Combat against humans feels great in comparison.
I definitely empathise with you. Although I don't think we can call the combat broken by any means.

It's definitly on my list, but given that the first season pass DLC doesn't hit earlier than december, I rather invest in guide and World of Witcher atm. But it's nice that you support the developers early.

I know that. I've done one card game. I was talking more on the strategy side of things. I played the bloody baron and he kicked my ass. Didn't know two of the same card doubled the card's points. Lots of nuance I would like explained. More than just your card goes here and what not.
I think it's the latter. There seems to be tension between her and Yen, which is how the game sets up you choosing between them
I don't know happen to you guys. I don't have to repair that often. In fact, I go more often to a smith to sell stuff I looted from humans than to repair.
But I also honestly have no idea how the degration actually works. I don't block, just dodge around all day.

Not yet, but I will. In the past 5 or more years only two games have entertained me to this degree, those being Witcher 3 and Dying Light. £20 for 30 more hours is a good deal to me.

I didn't intend on playing any gwent but now I have the gwent sidequest open and I really don't want to stare it it forever. I need to win some special cards from two different people but I haven't played any gwent besides the tutorial game and these guys are destroying me. If I can just win these cards will this quest be it or are there more gwent quests? Please say no.

I have one question...does playing on Blood & Broken Bones difficulty mean no ? marks on the map? I know there's no health regen through meditation on this difficulty.

Oh well... If there's one thing I care less about than achievements, it's GOG Galaxy achievements.

I was planning on the NoYen,NoTriss walkthrough but after the latter(sigi's treasure quest spoilers)
went through torture and sacrificed 4 fingernails for my sake, I may yet change my mind. Menge went out much quicker than I expected him too.
There are five quests involving playing different groups of players and one quest with a whole Qwent tournament.
Ah, my bad. All the better. I am sure to pick it up by then.

It's such a pain having to jump around various blacksmiths to get decent money for armour/weapons, especially as they have limited amounts of money to spend.

I have to repair very frequently, like maybe once every 10 fights or so. I feel like weapon durability is a bit on the crap side in this game. My armor has never been damaged much at all but my weapons particularly my silver sword is always falling to pieces after an hour of roaming the country side and cutting down nekkers, rotfiends and drowners.
When you win against certain people they will list more people who you can beat around the world so the quest keeps updating until you finish them all.
Yeah lol I feel you. I'm the same way pretty much with steam achievements. Just kinda like..oh I got an achievement? Cool, thanks.

Gotta say, after seeing the lenghts CDPR went to craft such an enjoyable game and being constantly wowed by their craft and attention to detail, I'm up for everything that comes for it, either free or paid. You see this money in my wallet, CDPR? It's not mine anymore, it's yours.

Can someone give me some advice on how to use the combat system properly? I'm tag teaming this game and Dark Souls 2 and I'm finding the combat in this game nothing but frustrating. I've resorted to dropping the difficulty to easy, dropping the Yrden sign, and spamming quick attacks. But I'm not having fun and I want to figure out how the combat works.
My problem is when I'm fighting multiple enemies I can essentially get stunlocked by them all attacking me at different times. The dodge is iffy at avoiding damage and it's hard to get more than one or two hits off before getting hit by another enemy. Problem is my swords also do shit damage (I'm level 4) so if I constantly dance in, get one hit off, then dance out, it'll take forever to kill anything.
I think playing it alongside Dark Souls 2 is just emphasizing to me how janky the combat system in Witcher 3 can be, but maybe I'm missing something.

Any idea where to find red mutagens? I have tons of blue and green ones but so far have only found 4 red.
This game is fantastic. I know many people didn't like the swamp from The Witcher (1) which I loved and this game takes the best aspect of exploration from there and adds to it an incredible amount. That was something I really missed in Witcher 2.

Only if the card has a special ability like that. It says the abilities on the card, just press R2 to zoom in. Personally I thought after three - four rounds of Gwent it all became obvious, but yeah, check out Gwent |OT|, there are tips in there, I'm sure.

Cheers. Still, they probably missed the possibility of someone approaching that story line differently and that quest should've failed sooner or the
dwarf should acknowledge that I already killed everyone in the arena and casino.
