Its from the same director as The Invisible Man from few years ago. I really liked that movie but this trailer didn't make me that excited. The original 1941 movie is great and I enjoyed the 2010 remake too. They should make that cancelled Bride of Frankenstein movie with Javier Bardem and Angelina Jolie.

Nah. The trailer suggest this movie has kids in it that have a lot of screen time.

It will be safe, predictable and mainstream.

Assuming the wolfs Gender......

How Dare You Greta GIF

Big fan of werewolves, so I hope this turns out well and we get a badass looking werewolf instead of the oddball shit like The Curse (which I still really enjoyed).

I thought the visual and aural representation of how he couldn't understand his wife and daughter during the change was well done, but the rest was trash and forgettable.

Yes I liked that one, might rewatch tonight!

Or maybe my Bluray of The Howling 🐺

Werewolves are my favorite.

Have you seen The Company of Wolves? That's a forgotten eighties classic IMO. Part art house horror, part fairy tale, based on a novel by Angela Carter.

Dammit, really? Why is the lycanthrope so hard? In the 80's we had SO MANY great werewolf films. American Werewolf in London, The Howling, Silver Bullet. Where did this genre go so astray?

I think those movies are all we need, there isn't much more which can be mined from the concept. There will always be 'Wolfman in modern world' movies to reflect the times we live in, just nothing as mind blowing as those you listed.
The early movies were always chasing how to convincingly show man changing to beast. It's hard to imagine the pain of transformation being portrayed better than American Werewolf.
I'm afraid the success of the Twilight and Underworld movies regulated 'Wolfman' to a stock supernatural henchman 😞

I will give this Wolfman a shot as I'm a sucker for werewolf movies. Last ones I watched were Viking Wolf and Wolfen(1981). Both were okay.

The werewolves in movies like Underworld, Van Helsing and Twilight were too much CG and moved away from being realistic looking. Also not scary looking at all.
Wolfman always felt like a powerful hairy man. Like Sabretooth.

The ones I recommend:
Dog Soldiers
Silver Bullet
American Werewolf in London
Bad Moon
The Howling (one in the series, not sure which one where bright lights turn them was the movie that kept me up at night when I was little)
Ginger Snaps

Even the werewolf episode in Love Death + Robots were awesome.

One I have not seen is the Wolf of Snow Hollow. Not sure if anyone over here can comment on that one.
