This game makes From software games play and look like ass!

lol... first of all it's not a souks like, secondly the combat is so much worse than in multiple other similar games 🤣
It's very much a Souls inspired game. Same basic gameplay formula eg semi open levels, and the game essentially being a boss rush game. Fortunately the developers did not make a carbon copy and instead put their own twist on upgrades, mobility, combos and spells. The combat in Wukong is much better than any FROM game I've played.

One of my long term favorites. I remember when the series first got redone on the original Xbox and it was a hard bitch back then. This game has everything you want in an action game.

Save girl with big tits = check
Gruesome violence = Check
Kickass smile on your face gameplay = check
Sweaty palm with heart pounding moments = check
Fast Furous and Fun = Check
Despite being old it still holds up with the best of them = Check

You want to play a From software game that has a high frame rate, doesn't make you feel like your moving in water, generally more fun, and more challenging? If you have not played this and like From software games, you owe it to yourself! I play in on an emulator with 4k and 120FPS and it it glorious!

Oh lol what a stupid take.
Different type of game, completely not comparable.
NG is closer to DMC and erm DMC3 and 5 are still the best Character Action Games ever made period. They have their own flaws sure, but yeah still the best.
To add to that Sekiro does NG better than NG…

Am I the only one who hits the camera button in Ninja Gaiden like a fucking maniac? I'm hammering that button every millisecond.

That's dumb. Fans don't support great character action games, that's why the genre's in decline, everyone's like no, 1, no, 2, no, 3, no, vanilla, no, black, no, sigma, no, remake, no, remaster, trashing the rest whether it's Bayonetta, DMC, Ninja Gaiden or whatever so we get one per aeon. Support great games you enjoy rather than try to elevate one by trashing something you don't like a toddler which in the end works against it, like it can't be good on its own merits and all you can do is say something else is trash, big woop, so you say it's better than something you deem trash, what a high bar🤦‍♂️
It’s true. I’m guilty of this myself.

Souls Like:

-RPG Stats with build opportunities
-Set Respawn Points
-Currency gained from enemies
-Loss of currency upon death with 1 chance to get it back

WuKong satisfies only 2 points here, which is the set respawn points and currency gain from enemies. missing the most important last one, and that last one needs to be there for it to even be souls related, as it's the one defining thing that truly differentiates them from other action RPGs... and WuKong isn't even an RPG either... which is the other prerequisite.

If you looked at the big bad samurai or door to monastery side by side there would be no way to come to that conclusion.
I've looked at screens of both and I can pretty much tell you Black has sharper textures.

What are you even talking about?
7th gen was king of blurry low res textures, they tried to make up for that with a lot of bells and whistles but sometimes PS2 and Xbox games had sharper texture.

I think it had something to do with RAM or something, but I remember replaying Max Payne 2 on PC in 2010 and my jaw dropped at much higher res and sharper it's textures were compared to anything new at the time, thankfully with the advent of the 8th gen consoles it got to where you could have both, but yeah.

definitely not more challenging, souls games are by design filled with a ton of bullshit to cheaply fuck the player up, enemies doing insane damage and a huge focus on patterns to succeed; considering how you can blast through nearly every encounter with ultimate techniques in NG2, it was never really all that difficult.

Represent.

Represent(ative) of bad opinions
every game makes FROM combat look like ass. They have ass combat. Slow, clunky, ugly, poorly animated, horrible hit reactions, and weapons feel like paper.

Ninja Gaiden 2 is a good game but has some weak/cheap sections like the constant Rocket Spamming which artificially inflate the difficulty and are unnecessarily frustrating. I remember playing through it back in the day. and thinking "What the fuck is this nonsense?" Did they tweak any of those weaker aspects in this "remaster"?

Also, not a fan of Ninja Gaiden 2's dismemberment system. Once you get the scythe that lets you cleave multiple enemies easily with each strike, you're doing more and more finisher animation kills that trivializes the need to do much comboing in the combat system.

Still a solid game, but Ninja Gaiden Black is one of the best character actions games ever made, even with dated visuals.

Your face is stupid.

I believe it's a fair comparison.

They are very comparable though lmao

Ninja Gaiden Black is the best character action game ever made.

And no, Sekiro does not do NG better than NG. Any Souls game is basically NG casual mode. Sekiro is basically parry simulator. Your first playthrough will always be the hardest, and the second you figure out the pattern recognition and parry loop, and the rest of the game is cake. Meanwhile, the skill ceiling in NG2 is arguably the highest of any action sword fighting game. NG2 master ninja is miles beyond DMC3 Dante Must Die. The amount of perfect precision and efficacy needed in every fight on the fly is fucking insane. The difficulty spike from normal to hard is brutal, and master ninja is 10x worse.

Nioh makes Dark Souls look like ass. In both graphics and gameplay. But Ninja Gaiden is a separate beast and shouldnt be compared to Fromsoft games.

Not 100% comparable in my opinion. The gameplay it's more like a satisying and tough version of the undemanding cookiecutter freeflow system from Spider-man and not like Souls games at all.

Ninja gaiden is literally another genre unless you consider from games as character action games ala dmc/bayo.

Next what, we compare the dishonored series against latest dooms because you have a gun and first person view in both??

Why I hated and will never play them. They built cheats into boss fights to artificially piss you off and extend the gameplay. I broke a 360 disc and controller playing that game. I swore if any Ninja Gaden games since.
