Titanfall Review Thread

I don't get why Sony fans are upset. Surely they have a PC that can run it. It's not that demanding of a game.

In fact, Sony fans should be happy that the Xbone version is the shittiest version.

Why would anyone want a gamer to get a bad experience? I'm a "Sony fan" and I would hope MS games run swell. I like games and I'd want games to run well on any system.

I think some Sony fans are upset because MS stole this from them, in their eyes. Or maybe it's not just Sony and the general population feels the game was over-hyped as something it's not by the media. But even if people are hating the game, is that stopping you from enjoying it?

yup.

and yup.

Nobody should be surprised that there is blowback from the hardcore shooter crowd who have chosen not to buy into the Microsoft ecosystem this time around. Rightly or wrongly, many feel that MS has paid money to prevent them from playing the game. It will be interesting to see how much damage it does to the long term health of the franchise.

EA management is shortsighted sometimes. But then again, they don't own the IP, so why would they care about its long term health?

The salt is flowing strong.

I really don't get this bullshit. Were was the uproar when Gta and FF franchises were money hatted by Sony back in the PS2 era??

MS provided server infrastructure and helped financially with development. What's the fucking problem??

What is this? Hasn't exclusivity (timed or indefinite) always been a part of the game? How is Microsoft any more "nefarious" for employing it? Jeez.

Well a lot of people last gen had the console MS produced and bought exclusives for, this time that isn't the case. Of course more people are going to be mad about exclusives.

There is a difference between developing your own games and paying so a certain game won't get released in another platform.

Making this a common practice will bite MS back in the future, specially if the XBOne install base falls behind the PS4.

Wow. Just popped onto the meta-critic for Titanfall. I don't care what people say. All those 0 reviews are ridiculous. That is pure, unadulterated, fanboy hate right there. So damn pathetic.

And what about the glowing 10s? Are they ridiculous too? Or does it just swing one way?

Titanfall is so revolucionary as Halo Combat Evolved was, the game is one of a short quantity witch is all in Multiplayer mode, the game has a nice campaign, considering that the campaign is online, it's a nice campaign, with a begining, a middle and an end, a complete chronology.

Awesome game ignore the reviews by Sony fans who are only giving bad reviews because they can't play it! Game is great best new FPS in years. Runs great as well Microsoft's Azure data centres are amazing getting 29ms ping. Silky smooth.

This Game is absolutly AWESOME. It is an non stop action game, sometime you need to stop just for breath a little bit.

TitanFall has set a new defenition to shooters with their fast paced action that blows your mind. No other FPS has ever set the bar this high for other games to compete with. I truly have no problems whatsoever with the framerate dropping like many say. For the people experiencing this, wait a day or two and with will be fixed with a patch, just like in DR3.

The delusion and fanboyism goes both ways. We should be able to agree that MC user critics are useless, on both end of the spectrum.

Are you new to gaming??

If you take the time to go through the whole thing, you will realize there are more people bashing the game, giving it 0s and 1s for no reasons than people giving it 10s for no reason. If you haven't played the game or are purely salty, there is no reason you should be bringing a game down on metacritic. Game is good, pure and simple, and I can say that from having actually spent some time with the game. Although it's a matter of opinion, the 85 average is very well deserved, as the game is easily a 7.5 at minimum. Anything under and either you are a fanboy, or you don't like shooters, but can still see potential in then game, but no way in hell is this game a 0/10.

Them Sony fanboys salty tears!

I never bother with Metacritic users review, they're equally ridiculous on each end of the spectrum, haters or fanboys. We don't even know if half of them even played the game.

Are you new to gaming??
I've being playing games for 20 years, I don't know if that count as new for you.

Money hatting entire games isn't standard practice (aside from MS), usually the platform holder will at least fund/publish the game.

MS is like a racer that is overly preoccupied with where everyone else is at, instead of trusting in themselves and doing their best. They are usually behind the trends of keeping things away from other platforms (even their own).

This, pretty much.

Reading the non-critical 10/10s are practically the same as the stupid, bitter 0/10s. They're bottom feeder trash opinions found in practically anything that allows anonymous, public user reviews, be it at Amazon or wherever.

Ive played the beta, but i am entertained by your demands that anyone who does not like this game is "salty", proving you are no better than the people giving the game a 0 or a 1 on MC.

You have decided what this game's quality is, and nothing and nobody can challenge that. Guess what, the people giving it a 0 and 1 on MC are doing exactly the same. Aint that funny? The very people you are looking down on, actually do share a ton in common with you. They have decided this game sucks, because its not on their platform, that was all it took.

MC user reviews are useless, not some of them, all of them, its a place for fanboys to fight their little skirmish war and bring games down.

And you are also wrong, there arent more people bashing the game, currently there are:
59 positive
6 mixed
34 negative

So even if you lump the mixed with negative, more people still like this game than not.

Buying third party exclusives isn't new at all, but it's unusual now. Really we only saw MGS4 last generation, Sony had FFXIII and Versus XIII, but neither remained exclusive until launch, they had GTA, but they didn't happen either.

It's too expensive now. Essentially you're comping the lost sales, and when you're expecting to lose four million full price sales, you need to comp for $100m, that's two AAA games you could make yourself, and actually profit from.

TF was just to make up for a slim exclusive line up, it's not MS's MO.

You cannot be serious with this. Final Fantasy, GTA, GT ring a bell??

Oh that's right, when Sony does it, its not moneyhatting.

No. I would give the game a 7. I can even see a 6.5. Those scores aren't bad.

Giant Bomb said it best: if you're not into COD's mp, this isn't really your game. That's exactly how I felt when I played it.

Tons of third party games have been exclusive In the past gta on ps2 for example or better yet deep down on ps4 is third party exclusive and no one on Xbox is whining that Sony isn't playing fair. If you are that salty and want to play Titanfall that bad get an xbone or a gaming pc problem solved.

As others mentioned, there have always been non-first party exclusives. MGS4 (and the hope of KH3) are the very reasons I bought a PS3. And the PS2 had countless, lol. I don't know the exact terms of those deals, but they existed. Besides, I'm not sure how Sony snatching up a bunch of developers under the guise of "first party" is any less offensive.

GT? I can't understand that.
When was GTA exclusive?
Which FF are you referring to?

No need to offend me man. I own a PC and I don't plan on playing Titanfall for now, I was actually in the beta, not the type of game I like.
I'm not sure I expressed myself in the right way, but Titanfall is a very particular case where a deal was made behind the back of the developer, I remember that they they even used the PS3 as one of the reasons they chose Source.
MS can do whatever they want, just don't come crying when it turns against them (like everything they do).

Lol? Seriously... posts like these are so 2001.

GTA 3, Vice City for a while.

FF pre-13.

GTA was definitely money-hat. It was scummy then, it is scummy now.

As for FF, was it money-hat though? Back then PS2 was king, and remember that Japanese developer approach back then was building games specific to the platform. Multiplatform approach was rare back then, which is why we often hear apparently how difficult it is for Japanese devs to port games specifically coded for PS2 over.

This game isn't even exclusive to xbone so I'm not sure what all the salt is aboutfrom
People. You can purchase this game on PC or even the 360. Ps4 fans need to relax man it's not the end of the world competition is a good thing. Competition is the resason we have the ps4 I never understood console warriors. I love gaming so when a platform has a game I want I don't get mad I get the platform to play the game I want.

Obviously you have not been playing for 20 years. That is just nonsense. Gaming industry has always been like this.

Are we considering first party development "money hatting" now?!
phone oppss coupled with copy and paste :).

point is Moneyhatting third party games has been a part of the industry since before MS or Sony were around. Its part of every fucking industry, why do you think shit you watch on HBO doesn't show up on show time??

Deal with it.

WTF? Sony moneyhatted FF on the PS1? I thought it was more to do with the death of the N64 and its cartridges and the beginnings of the CD age. FF continued onto PS2 because it was where the fanbase remained. Dont blame Sony for Square supporting a console that ****ing dominated the Xbox. Dont blame Sony for selling incredibly well in its HOME region. FF did not need to go multiplat at all.

Dont include FF in your salty post and if you want to blame anything for Sony getting so many exclusives in the PS2 era, blame the Xbox for selling so poorly.

ONTOPIC: Good for Respawn, but expected I guess.
