I listened to the samples and I feel like it's a live recording but I can't say for sure. Some of the tracks have a very echo quality but that could just be how it was recorded..

Dreamstate day 1 was amazing. I am so fucking bummed that I'm going to miss Gouryella today in day 2 because of Porter/Madeon show.

What are recommended uplifting trance albums?

I wanted some CDs for my car (only accepts a CD player) so was on the lookout for good stuff. I already have Above & Beyond albums and Aly & Fila The Other Shore, but wondered what else was good.

Not exactly uplifting but Tiesto's In Search of Sunrise 2 is still the GOAT to me.

As far as artist albums System F's Out of the Blue is quite there too.

That is such a diverse list that I don't know how to answer that. You got everything in there lol. Basically every new trance artist is similar to at least one of those

Oh man I'm so bad with names. Hopefully others can chime in. An easy way is to go by label. Looks like you would like Armada and Anjuna artists.

Ilan Bluestone easily comes to mind. Jason Ross.

Also listen to A State of Trance and Group Therapy podcasts.

Thanks to you both. Yeah i missed quite a few names and those were the ones i had on top of my head.

Right now i always tune in weekly to abgt, corstencountdown, gdjb, and artys together as one. I used to listen to tone diary but i think he stopped it. Then i would dabble in cycles radio time to time. (Asot is a gamble for me so i havent listened to it in a while)

The debut album by The Thrillseekers is out now.

Once again we have the paradox that you tend to not actually get a trance album from some trance producers - they want to do proper songwriting instead. So basically don't expect much in the style of the singles he's put out in the last sixteen or so years.

He went for a chill-out style album with tracks that sound like, say, Conjure One - which is not a bad thing for me. And there are still upbeat tracks, like the revival of the Hydra alias and the remix of Chicane's Halcyon.

There is a remake of Anywhere with You in this new style - the original single remixed by Solarstone was a favorite for me when it came out, and the song totally stands up here.

I'm kind of glad now that Ferry basically suppressed the full live set all year long to build up to this release. It sounds so fresh in its full glory for the first time.

My God this is so good. You guys have no idea how sad I am that I missed his set at Dreamstate. Porter/Madeon was good too but damn....still so salty

Sucks that it doesn't include extended mixes.

After listening all the new versions, Walhalla is the only one that's clearly upgraded from the original.

So i did Rong in Manchester last month (as i always do). J00F blew the place apart, it was phenomenal. Truly criminal that they gave him such an early slot.

But. last week. I went to Solarstones Open to Close at Ministry of Sound. In Dolby Atmos.
Was anyone else from GAF there?

Honestly, one of the most incredible nights of my life. I have seen hundreds of DJ's play, been to a countless number of shows, and seen Solarstone dozens of times now. But it was something truly special.
The Atmos system is insane. As ridiculous as it sounds, it really feels like you are inside the music. Rich had put a lot of effort into arranging tracks for the system, and it showed. The clarity and depth in the room was like nothing i have heard before, and the positional audio over the 60 speaker sets was amazing. Crossing Lights, Language, Seven Cities etc being moved around the room, or just individual notes or stems. He pushed it to its limits for 6 hours and i cant say enough good things about it.

I kinda like it, similar to when Giant Bomb started doing the Bombcast live.

I actually like that they're doing live video feed from their new studio. For whatever reason there were a handful of episodes prior that had technical difficulties on the YouTube feed, and I guess doing video more or less ensures everything is running smoothly. There was even one time where it went down and their Twitter page acknowledged it.

Plus I love seeing how it unfolds on video. It's pretty amazing, really.

Fuck watching this on Facebook though.
