It's amazing how consistent we seem to be able to spam SS Ticket more than any single fighting move.
That's pretty much the origin of the Church of Helix.
But what sort of powerful technical machine would hit Poison supereffectively and go well on Drowzee?
Obviously we should teach Drowzee Swift!
Would be a good replacement for that useless move Confusion!

Yeah, chat's usual strategy of "we'll probably grind as we throw ourselves against the next objective like waves against the rocks" is extra derpy when the current problem is that we can barely even hit the targets.

Seeing that Confuse Ray, a tidal wave of nostalgia washed over me... I remember playing through the Tower on the city bus when my dad used to be a driver and he took me to work once.

Wouldn't it just fail to learn the move like all the other moves other pokemon would have had, but failed to learn or forgot?

It is prone to crash if you use certain items though. Japanese green would be good for a suicide run though (the pokemon and item swapping glitch thing).
Welcome back to Gen 1. Levitate does not exist and whirlwind (and roar and many other moves) are completely useless.

We need to buy great balls and catch ourselves a ghastly.
Rock Tunnel was suggested and it seems like a better place.
Remember that we can also get a Ratticate out of the deal.
Gastly's main issue is that it's basically an inferior version of the mandatory ghosts we'll be fighting (Trainer battles).
It also has an incredibly shitty level up movepool outside its decent initial moveset.

YESSS. If my input matters at all, this is the OT2 title I want. Initial title anyway, since hilarious mod edits are inevitable.
