But the leaked footage was good.
Might not be a final product but it’s 99% of what you’re gonna get on launch today.

Apparently the leaked disc has the pre-delay build that was going to be released Nov. 15. So its gold version could be from maybe around mid October.

The final game with the day one patch to be released late next month may have almost half a year of extra work on top due to the delay, so should be more polished, fixed and tweaked.

After the patches are released, we're all gonna be like. 'Glad we waited and didn't play the version that still had Yasuke in it like those losers that bought it early'😏

apparently, if anything - anything! - can go wrong with this game? it will. what's sorta incredible is that of any potential assassin's creed game they could've gone with, this one, location-wise, should've been a friggin' walk in the park for ubi. assassin? ninja? complete no=brainer...

They postponed the game's release date nearly 5 months to "polish the quality of the game", and yet they still have the need to release a day one patch because the one that goes on disc still "does not represent the final quality of the game". Holy moly.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Just about every game has a sizable day 1 or day 0 patch these days, so I can see their point.

That being said, the leaked footage that has been out so far is OK, nothing bad stands out at a glance.

It's not uncommon for some projects to run like this. I've already had product previews in my hands that didn't even start 2 weeks before release and whose bug list was long enough that I almost had to pull the brake. And yet, with good leadership, development teams still manage to fix these things. The effect of polish phases with focus on bug fixing should never be underestimated. Weeks can mean big differences here and in this case, the leaked build is probably from November/October.

Ubisoft effectively just advertised the leak and now people who didn't even know about it are going to search and find it. Great job, Ubisoft.
Streisand effect as a marketing tool. Ubi aren't quite as hopeless as some suggest, not in every facet of their business at least.
