I love the fact that they tout this 300k number without mentioning that they had to completely kill their monetization model and have to give away the DLC for free if you pre-ordered. The fact that it's 150k behind where Odyssey was just showed how bad they fucked up with this game. A Japanese AC has been the biggest want for 2 decades, this should have easily been the biggest seller in the franchise, but because they dropped the ball so hard they have to basically bribe people to buy it early.

I don't understand why people pre-order games months before release anyway, especially digital games. Do they think that the publisher will run out of keys or something? :pie_thinking:

If you want the game then just order it the day before release or two if you want a physical disc copy. There really is no reason to give these companies your hard earned money months in advance in my opinion.

Well...hopefully for the people that pre-ordered it that with multiple delays the game will at least be bug-free and run well.

Best case scenario still to me is that it will just be a decent-ish iteration on the formula that they've been doing since Origins, but I have no hope it will be some great thing.

It will make i make bank out the gate and do well. Then it will fall to meet expectations when all is said and done. I’m very curious how the reviews will be.

True. I used to pre-order discs at full price 10 years ago when they still had buy 2 get 1 free deals at E3.

But what if there's no bonus discount or perks? Why digitally preorder then?
Didn't i said that if you buy keys for games earlier you pay less? It's not an absolute rule but it is pretty common.

If the game already cost 40-45 dollars even one year before release then yeah, no reason to preorder.
