Steins gate reboot announced.
Now that interest me. I love unlikable protagonists
I might play Chaos,Head this year but if I enjoy Chao;Head, I'll most likely play through Chaos;Child this year too
I'll be playing the rest of the Science Adventure Series for next year but for the Stein;Gate VNs, I'll wait on playing them until Stein;Gate Reboot comes out.
When it comes to Science Adventure VNs for next year: Robotics;NOTES and Anonymous Code are the ones I'm looking to play for 2025
But for this year I only played AI The Somnium Files (I hated the game, but the plot is fantastic) and Death Mark II (Loved the game)
And I'll be playing through Muv-Luv on Switch for this year
The main ones for the next couple of years
Gnosia
Aokana
Science Adventure (Playing some of these in 2025)
Ace Attorney (2025)

If you like unlikeable protags, you'll love chaos head. That is quite the list you have there, you must be an avid reader! I'm all for hearing your feedback as you go through them.
I haven't forgotten your fata morgana suggestion, that's on my to do list - I've been on a sci Fi bender, trying to find the most brain melty stuff possible as I'm kinda into that.
Probably when I feel like absorbing some more dramatic tension inspiration I'll go through fata Morgana, but I've got sci;adv to do, as well as some, uh, paper novels? Maybe aegis rim, too (I know that one isn't exactly a vn though some people give it a vn pass) and then on to Fata Morgana.
Is fata morgana related to the fate series at all? I don't like looking up much on vns because any time I look up even basic info on a thing, somehow I find spoilers.
Excellent! Did you use the committee of zero patch? If not, I recommend it - it dramatically improves the translation.

CoZ is apparently recommended for all of sci;adv, though I've only done chaos head

I'm Five hours in and Glasses Otaku Girl finally revealed her true motives and thinks the MC is the Newgen Killer. I just got to Chapter 2. The MC talks about how he knew the bus he was supposed to be on was going to crash so he didn't go on that bus that day. His classmates got injured but I think noone died. He pretended to not talk just to spite his parents. He was misdiagnosed with PTSD. And with him being accused of being Shogun, he's says there's a possibility he might be Sleepwalking.
I'll be playing more later tonight but that's where I'm at
The story is good and I'm hoping it gets better. So far the twists are good and I'm invested in the story.
I think there's some cool visual effects. Whenever a person speaks you can see they animated their mouth. Whenever I'm back at my room on the computer chatting, there's sometimes a mixture of Dialogue Box and what being typed on the computer screen with Keyboard clicking sounds and showing what being said on the computer scene in the chat board
These are some really cool effects and they immerses me into the story even more

Got to Chapter 4
It's interesting how delusional the MC is. So I've been liking the Protag alot. I think the Pink Hair Girl is hot as fuck. Also there's been four murders now. MC buys a fake sword and has a mental breakdown and than the hot pink hair chick comes and calms him down. He's hopefully not scared of her anymore since in his Delusion which might be real or fake he saw her crucifying someone

Yeah, Rimi is best girl, though there is a very close second for me. Its amazing how absolutely nutshit and also dumb the main character is, but they do an AMAZING job at keeping you second guessing. Some of his delusions are obviously delusional, but then some of it is pretty reasonably not delusional, and some of it is factually happening. The amount of "what the fuck is going on" pressure is unparallelled lmao.
I still haven't 100%ed Chaos Head because I don't like how it handles going through routes, but hopefully I can finish by this weekend. I actually started Steins;Gate on a whim (Ive just finished watching the anime with my wife, who hates vidya and most media but gets into a good scifi story every year or so) and couldn't resist seeing how the VM is compared to the anime. Unfortunately, Ill be pushing Fata Morgana back, but it is still on my to do list!
Im really excited to see what you think of the chapters moving on, as you've really moved into the meat and potatoes of chaos head as opposed to intro stuff lol. It is a huge shame that the anime is apparently terrible, as I would love to introduce more people to it. It is peak paranoid fiction, and a few other genre buzzwords I could throw around. It is really inspiring.
Haha! I unitonically never actually listen to voice acting in vns, I cruise through it at the speed of my, erm, reading speed, and completely tune out voice acting besidesnthe generalities of their voice.
Even In vidya with English voice actors, I get annoyed if I can't skip spoke dialogue and just read it
But I can imagine listening to like 20+ hours of *fearful stuttering* would be sanity destroying
What chapter are you in? I wanna say something but can't until I know where you are lmao
I'm on Chapter 7 still
His classmates are calling him a fake psychic
grvg
I just got to Chapter 9 and Chapter 8 was a banger regarding twists
MC being a Delusion himself
Yua having a twin sister who was one of the murder victims of the first NewGen Murder
Finding out that Sena Dad experimented on her Mom and finding out what her dad did to her mom was Dark and Disturbing. I can understand why Sena wants to kill him
Question how many Visual Novels have read so far?
As one of Aquaplus’ flagship titles, ToHeart gained popularity as a school romance story adventure game. It has been expanded to various forms of media, including a TV anime, and a sequel was also released. Today, a newly reborn ToHeart with characters rendered in full 3D was formally unveiled.
I've read Slay the Princess, the Muv Luv trilogy, and Chaos;Head.
I didn't even really know what visual novels were until muv luv, I had seen people post about it on /v/ and snagged it when humble bundle put out a muv luv bundle. Then I started looking into the medium more because I like reading with background music.
It's a shame, things like amazon Kindles could really open an opportunity for something like that. Light novels with illustrations and music?
It seems like you've been reading vns for a while, eh? Ironically, (because we've ended up taking a good bit and because of your, uh, tagline or flavor text or whatever that is called, I'm newish to forums as well) right as I started getting into vns, I also decided to do a trails run through, though life circumstances have made traditional Vidya into a luxury that I really don't have much time for any more
You should play Chaos;Child next. I heard that it is even better. Or you could try playing entire science;adventure series by release order.I got through Chaos;Head Noah Common Route. It was fantastic despite the bad official English Translation

I recently got Chaos:Head Noah on a Steam sale and I'm excited to play it with a fan patch after I finish Zero Escape 2 and 3. I also own Chaos;Child, but I just decided to wait for ;Head's official English release before playing it.
This year I got a lot of VNs, including the entire Muv Luv series that I got from Humble Bundle and Ace Attorney trilogy. I played the original AA games 12 years ago and they made me fall in love with visual novel-style storytelling and English. I bought them on Switch to refresh my memory because I forgot most of the plot.

Yeah, I think exposition tolerance is a thing that should be discussed more with alternative. A lot of the game is discussing things like the number of arms that the mechs have, what actually constitutes an arm, and the weight distribution of the arms lol. Then it goes into crippling angst, etc.To be honest, I liked the first Muv Luv. It's Alternative the one I'm having trouble finishing. Yeah, it's a legendary game and all the jazz, but it's SSSSSSLOW as molasses and loves flooding the player with exposition.
In comparison, I found FMD Muramasa much more engaging.
I'm close to the end (The attack on the Hive using Sumika) and I agree that the action sequences are super engaging. As per that moment (I take you are referring to the CHOMP? I had it spoiled so it unfortunately didn't surprise me. Maybe that's the reason I found Takeru's PTSD stint more annoying than anything. He went from "I can't do it!" to "I must pull myself together" like five times and finally got over it thanks to hypnosis and drugs. Which is realistic I guess...Yeah, I think exposition tolerance is a thing that should be discussed more with alternative. Have you gotten to that one part of it yet? That's where it really impressed me. If you don't know you haven't gotten there, and don't look at anything to see if you have.
I can go into deeper critique of it - because I do have my critiques of it - but it's hard to without getting into spoiler town.
Honestly the justapostipn between extra being a silly moege and my knowing sort of where the plot goes in later installments was really interesting. I enjoyed thinking about what could happen and pondering extras plot with a bit of "anticipatory sorrow", and spent a bit of time wondering why other installments were called photonflowers and photonmeloodies.
Sorry for grammatical errors and run on sentences.
