The  moment I see someone connected to a development team cry about gamers. I write off the game they're working on.

I'm not saying there aren't crazy mofos out there. But if there's an actual threat; talk to your local law enforcement, not your local mouthpiece/journalist.

Unless someone actually climbs in your window and punch you in the kidney, I don't want to hear about it.


Ohh and, not a hot take per se, but I avoid reading interviews with people who's work I admire. I might be mentally challenged or something...but I am just completly UNABLE to separate art from the artist. Becaue in the end we all say something stupid that sounded better in our heads then out loud.

You are absolutely right to condemn the "art" if the "artist" is also deserving of condemnation. "Philosophers" and "Think Tanks" like to hide behind this diplorable principal that they themselves have invented and brainwashed the masses with, because a lot of significant cultural and historical pieces are made by objectively heinous human beings.
If people actually started to condemn the display of these arts because of the artists then a lot of this smoke and mirrors bullshit facade will fall flat and make the ruling elites that control said pieces lose *a lot* of money and a lot of bragging rights (and a lot of power).

I'm specifically talking about things like paintings, music, sculptures, even games and media to an extent etc. Stuff that is pure vanity and "culture", not actual inventions that have benefited and advanced humanity tangibly.

The constant pursuit of graphics has harmed the output of the industry for the last three gens. Devs constantly overextend on this end, causing poor performance, longer than needed dev cycles and with very little benefit. Games have looked GREAT across the board for a long time now and we would be in a much better spot if a more gradual and attainable pace had been taken to this side of things. A lot of devs pursue these graphics because it helps them hide the fact that the actual games they make are garbage. Problem is you have a lot moron gamers and journalists (ie. Digital Foundry) that reward bad devs for this. Digital Foundry enabled a whole generation of mouth breathing morons to spend hours arguing about screenshots that are 10x zoomed in that you would otherwise never notice in motion.


Multiplayer games peaked in the late 90s and early 00s with games like Diablo 2, StarCraft, Counter Strike, World of Warcraft, etc.


Blizzard has had the single biggest fall from grace of any dev ever and hasn't released a game worth playing since SCII.


Of the hardware manufacturers, Nintendo is far and away the best at making games. It's not even close.

This is something that has been on my mind and is a bit of a hot take like yours: Back when the games were released on PS3 I thought he was this cool smart wise-cracking competent treasure hunter. Having replayed these games again recently on the PS4. I have grown to dislike him more and more as i went through the four games.

He's all that I mentioned but he's also a walking talking menace/calamity/curse that brings death and destruction to literally where ever he goes , and he's never held accountable for anything. ND paint him as a hero but honestly if he was, then half the gunfight encounters we've had in the game--killing thousands of fathers/sons/brothers-- should've been avoided, if Drake was actually the "good guy" that the devs want us to believe he is. Yes, a lot of enemies that shoot at him aren't good people but he comes in fully armed to the teeth expecting a fight and has no regard for the people he killed.

The games are fun if you don't think about it too much lol.

The gaming industry inability to take dark souls art style (knights/armor design ) is a factor of why from software became unstoppable. 70’s/80’s dark fantasy designs. Instead we see idiotic wow armor. How do the Japanese beat you at your own culture.

Note: they imo are afraid of taking risks; aka reboot as what it is, a sci-fi journey with aliens, horror elements and a silent protagonist for the viewer to self insert. I even think the reboot vids they showed were too tame.
