What Do You Want In 'Metro 4'?

Can You Imagine What SureAI Is Going To Do With Garfield?
Now that's a new Metro game has come out for virtual reality, what do you want to see in the next mailine installment of Metro 4?

More of the same.

Only part I didn't like about Exodus was the last one, which felt rushed and kinda jank. Rest of the game was amazing imo.

Full open-world. No tricks, no loading, no levels. Let me live in that cold, harsh world, I love it.

Artyom (or whoever is the protag) to speak during the game and be present in dialogue instead of just being talked at
Interactive dialogue with branching choices
More non-linear quests and generally more RPGishness
Even more open and bigger areas ripe for exploration
Pure singleplayer immersion focus

I concur with the more open world nature. FPS games can pull off open world way better than RPGs. Let's do this.

And maybe give me some tranny dialogue ala Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

Just kidding, bro.

Mmmmm.....

From most to least important:
A lot more waifu Anna.
More exploring big metropolitan areas that got targeted hard by nukes instead of empty deserts and forests.
If they keep expanding on the openness of their games, more in-depth survival mechanics would also be welcome.

I live with one.

Less movie, more game. Exodus had a 15 minute cutscene before you even got to actually start the game. Then you play it and you see how enemy AI is dogshit. So you wonder to yourself: "couldn't they have worked on the AI instead of stupid fuckin' Hollywood wanna-be cutscene?"

  • A massive Fallout-style open-world.
  • Survival elements, with light crafting and resource gathering mechanics.
  • Some touches of immersive sim when it comes to exploration and combat encounters.
  • A completely new, branching storyline with various NPC factions.

WAAAAYYYY less talking and way more shooting. What a slog this game is. The constant standing on/around/about the fucking train while talking at the start was enough to make me drop the game (Metro Exodus) instantly.

God, how I hated the dialogue in Exodus.

Christ man, did you play it BEYOND the intro mission ?
So, you found the intro to be long and you somehow also tied it to the A.I being stupid ?

The gameplay to cutscene/slow moments was A-OK, any less than that and it'd have been a friggin' sandbox kill-everything-that-moves typical FPS, the games have always been Single player, story heavy ones.

Less story, voice acting and other npc's, more feelings of being alone. Always thought most npc's dialogue is more annoying (stereotypical) than fun.

Ditch the open world locations, go back to the idea of exploring the metro system, remain singleplayer. Three simple things and I'm there.

More metro, less open world snow field #2356

Yeah some of the comments here seem like they want it to become STALKER.

Keep Metro like Metro.

Not that I'm against some open world exploration. But I want Metro to stick to its roots.

I want some more weird shit. My favorite aspect is the supernatural and Metro does a really good job of the creepiness.

Artyom not being a mute during gameplay.
Skippable cut-scenes.

Open worldish level based on the dead city level.

I get people have become accustomed to characters that never shut up, but please god no. Doesn't even make sense in a post apocalyptic game that's supposed to be tense.

This guy gets it.

I would love to see more supernatural elements again. I really like how creepy they are in the first two games.

I'd love an open world set entirely within the actual Metro system, with less above-ground gameplay. The underground settlements really captured my imagination. The state of each settlement would surely evolve over time, as the story progresses.

Please don't make the huge mistake to go with a silent protagonist again.

It simply did not work at all in Exodus, and somewhat ruined all the narrative sequences for me
