I Recently finished Silent Hill2 Remake. I was very critical of this game when it was coming out and it felt like trying too hard to be RE2R.

Boy I never been this happy to be wrong, the Remake was great and despite being over shoulder camera like RE the game felt vey much like proper Silent Hill. Just like RE2R this remake is not trying to replace original SH2, the Remake is own interpretation of story and gameplay style while still keeping core concept.


My only criticism is it goes little too long, even good horror game the longer goes on the less scary they become.
But other than that I’m very happy with this remake.

Beat Blasphemous 2 Mea Culpa DLC. Great expansion in terms of level design, art and bosses, sadly releasing in a very buggy state (impacting the main game way more than the new content so it didn't ruin it for me that much) and a questionable sub par "quasi NG+" . I plan to run it again for the final missing trrophy when they're done patching.

This game is such a vibe. I can't really explain it.

Loved it when it released on the 360 and I'm definitely loving it now. I'm going straight into replaying Red Dead Redemption 2 when I'm finished with this.

Still got one playthrough left on SMTV that I've been holding off on, but just saw today there's a patch with a little new content. Might just do the final playthrough on Godborne to finish in style!

Aside from that I returned to Hollow Knight, which I must've started 2-3 years ago. Luckily I hadn't gotten very far, so it was easy to get back into. I feel like I'm pretty deep in now, but from what I've heard the game is massively long... At the very least I've gotten half the stations and charms, so that must count for something.

Just barely started clearing Operations missions on 3rd difficulty in Space Marine 2, had an awesome team which I did 2 missions with tonight. Feeling ready for Ruthless with Vanguard. The game really starts to shine on these higher difficulties where teamplay is emphasized. Coordinating targets and ganging up on Majoris enemies is a blast.

Not sure when I'll get to a new game because I'm itching to return to FF7 Rebirth when I'm completely done with SMT... And Space Marine and Hollow Knight seem like they'll keep me busy for a while yet too. Damn good problem to have tbh.

• Trails of Cold Steel 2 (ps5) - playing on easy as I got bored with the grind in the latter part of the first game and I'm really invested in the story...
• The Last Spell (PC) - rogue-lite survive each night and rebuild base in the day got it's hooks into me now so I'll be playing for a while
• Dragon's Crown Pro (ps5) couch co-op with my boy until PoE2 comes out
• BG3 (pc) slow burn, doing a bit each week to savour the experience

Currently playing the MP and its really fun. Kinda kicking myself for not doing this a lot sooner. Been pretty busy as of late. The progression system reminds me of how it was handled in Resistance: Fall of man (badges). Trying to scoop up the last few trophies before the servers get turned off good. I have yet to check out the main campaign.

Didn't really play anything during Spooktober so I might catch up and finally get on Daymare 1998 soonish.

I have been playing Control on Gamepass and am amazed about how boring it looks everywhere and how uninteresting the protagonist is despite everything about the game itself being awesome. The unique enemy types, very versatile psychic powers, and gunplay always feel engaging. The mechanics are smooth as butter and the X-Files extradimensional lore is amazingly realized. I am maybe halfway into the game but I have already been blown away by the light switch transition and Darling debriefing footages. Only complaint is that there is a capacity of 24 on weapon and personal mods despite the game throwing them at the player constantly. I hate doing inventory management and wish developers would just let me carry everything.


P.S. I am definitely going to pick it up the next time it goes on sale along with Dead Space Remake like I did with Lords of the Fallen.

So I'm playing Robocop Rogue City. It's a good game, but I think it has some major design flaws. For example: in like the first area you go in, you go to like an arcade and there's a safe in the back. You can't open it unless you invest skill points in certain areas. I'm not even sure if it's technically possible to open it even if you did. You need to acquire a certain number of skill points and it's the first area. But either way, I couldn't open that or other safes in some of the other areas because I invested my points elsewhere. I kept waiting all game to return to these areas and I found out you don't go back. So I unlocked the ability to open safes and I can't even open them. What a fucking waste. I'd have to do it NG+ which I'm not doing. I don't replay games.

Just finished Ghost of Tsushima Directors Cut. Now in Iki Island, but finding it hard to finish. Game was overal an 8, but like most open world games there were far too many sidequest and extras (bamboo strike, shrines, etc...)

Wish there were more difficult side quests and more duels. Hopefully the new one gives a bit more variety in sword combat as well.

Also started King's Field: The Anctient City. Pretty cool game so far, think I've beaten the first segment of the game and should be reaching the Ancient City pretty soon. Exploration and atmosphere are top notch, specially while playing on a CRT in a dimly lit room. And I gotta admit, I'm enjoying the combat more than I think I would. It's like Secret of Mana but much slower and methodical, think I prefer this to Morrowind or Arx Fatalis.

Halls of Torment, it's a Vampire Survivors type game but way better IMO. Just got black ops 6 also, first CoD I bought in 4 years and unfortunately I am not enjoying it very much. Too many changes to the way they handle kill counts (apparently they changed it to eliminations some time ago which you get credit for even just for assists, weird).

Anyhow, I am enjoying a $6 game way more than a $70 game lol. I highly recommend Halls of Torment.

I'm out of ideas so I tried Virtua Fighter 5 since I had it on PS+. This game seems great but entirely too complicated for me. Uninstalled it after an hour, felt exhausting to try to play.

I don't know, Silent Hill 2 was so fucking good and I'm not really sure there's anything I need to play right now. I wish I could care more about Conscript but I tried three times and can't make it past the 4 hour mark or so.

I completed both Metaphor and Silent Hill 2 Remake and LOVED both.

But I dont know what to play next, I can't play another long RPG because DQIII 2D-HD coming out soon.....maybe I should just wait until that game comes out.

Epic Mickey kinda sucks tbh. It's just bare bones puzzle solving and platforming. Feels like something a 5th grader could complete. Not really having much fun, might drop it.

Felt the same with Epic Mickey: The Power of Two on WiiU. Mediocre game from what I remember.

So there's a Saturn game called F1 challenge. Racing. I like it. The Japanese version is called F1 Live Information. Picked that up recently and played for the first time over the weekend. It has tracks of Japanese race commentary going while you drive.

This is not chunks of speech triggered by events like passes or crashes. It's a steady stream of commentary almost like they do in golf games. It's mostly low-key old Japanese guys sounding just like they would in tv.

It's a pretty neat gimmick. Probably helps that I don't understand Japanese.

Finished Mafia II Definitive Edition yesterday. I really enjoyed it. Good characters and dialog, fun gameplay. Took me 13 hours to complete. I'll play the DLC next, then pick up the first Mafia game. I never played the original, so the Mafia games are new to me.

I like the old-style gameplay here - no filler, just moving from scene to scene. I appreciated the politically incorrect dialog, too.

Finished Astro Bot. Main campaign. Still got the speed running and a couple of more robots to rescue. Overall it was a great game. On par with the best platformers out there aka Super Mario. Fantastic visuals, creative level design, amazing boss fights and just an overwhelming amount of FUN. The love for video games shines through with this one, there was some really cool and surprising cameos featured here, some I just didn't expect at all.

Alisa. Recommended to me elsewhere, it's a tank controls game visually inspired by RE1. It even renders in 240p with an option for 480p if you fancy it. It's even got bad voice acting.

If you like the classic RE style and wish you had more of that but with a few melee weapons thrown in and weird robots instead of zombies, this game is for you. If you want to be able to buy augments and different dresses with various bonus effects, jump in.

I got it for ~£7 on GOG and it's great fun. I'm told there's multiple endings and NG+ cycles add things to the mix, so I'll be getting my money's worth.

Haven't gotten to play a ton. Been working a lot of overtime the last few weeks.

Played about 6 hours of Yakuza Isshin and Yakuza No Name Man. They're fun, but I honestly felt like I was almost done with them after just a few hours. I will buy them on sale though, and have a more positive impression of the series again. The newer Yakuza had better graphics than I remembered. I'll probably start with the 1st of the RPG ones soon.

• Triangle Strategy VR - Only put in a few hours so far but it's simply fantastic. A dream come true. Playing it with the map plopped on my kitchen island and just walking around with mixed reality so I can easily see the full room, my drink on the counter, my cats. It's like playing a board game in real life with JRPG dudes alive in my house. One of the top games you can play this year.
• Slitterhead: Starting it up tonight. Looking forward to it.
