What game are you currently playing?

I finally managed to beat that god damn Alatreon.
cUz5nnM.jpeg

I still take this fight over Safi'jiiva siege fight any day.

Now all is left is Fatalis and I will be ready for Wilds.

Alatreon and the Witcher quest are the only big fights I have left. Did you solo it?

Beat Ghost of Sparta on the deck running PSP emulator. So I have now beaten all God of War games except that stupid mobile sidescroller. Man I hope their next game is all action back to the roots, I'd love to see a current gen take on this, even if it's about Atreus.

Solo is the only way I play Monster Hunter, Thankfully when you break his horn it will temporary stops him from changing his element.

Also HATED that Witcher quest not only the fight itself but following Witcher style quest line before fighting the boss, it was borefest.

I've got 88 hours in Space Marine 2. Finished the campaign twice. Mostly playing coop with my son. Done a good bit of Eternal War PvP.

And after all that, I'm still just over half way towards getting 41k kills for Platinum.

Frustrated Here We Go GIF by Sesame Street
Got about 50 hours and done a lot of operations (2 classes at max level) and also just 50% towards the 41k kills.

To me, the co-op is plenty fun that I'll just slowly and incidentally move towards the plat over time, while learning more classes and beating all the operations on lethal.

But otherwise I'm pretty sure you can grind 20k kills in either a campaign mission or operations mission in a few hours.

At another hard boss. Shadow of Yim

The game is fantastic but man is it old school tough at times

I decided to take a small break and play a little of

Tales of Grace f (Switch)

I'm still on Chapter 1 but this game is really good so far. The visuals really pop on the OLED Screen. Not really feeling the battle system yet. But so far I've been enjoying this game more than other Tales games which is a pleasant surprise. I really like how you can find stuff in towns and the world and it cataluges that specific thing you found. Like looking at the portrait in the MC Mansion and able to access a skit afterwards. I really like the extra content and QOL they added. I used that menu that enables all these cheats from the start. Story and cast is really good but nothing special

Yeah....I'm not really stressed about it. It will happen because we are still having a blast playing (although some new operations would be nice).

Indeed. While I think they've done an excellent job with the Operations in terms of quality and variety, there's not quite enough of them to really justify replaying them for so long.

I'd still take that over a frivoulous and heavily monetized live-service approach though.

In fact, I think I'll play a few Operations right now, and give Metaphor a break.

Metaphor was my previous Platinum. Couple of great games right there.

Absolutely love it.
It runs absolutely appallingly on ps4, and it was never really a looker to begin with.
Never finished it. Played it on Ps2 first and the Meat Circus just made me quit.
I intend to rectify this as I've purchased the second, digitally, on Xbox series X, and extremely cheap.

Chrono Trigger
I get a strong urge to play old games from time to time. I've played Chrono Trigger off and on over the years, but never finished it. Hoping this time is the one.

Half-Life 2
Made my way through Ravenholm. Probably my favourite area of the game so far.

Dynasty Warriors Origins
Started playing this Saturday afternoon. Surprised at how many changes have been made, although I think they're for the better. Parrying is really satisfying, smaller maps are something I enjoy, and the various systems like skills are simplistic yet fun.

Juggling between Starfox Adventures, Dark Souls 3, Indiana Jones and Visions of Mana. Going to start concentrating on one game at a time hereafter. I´ve been unfocused the last year and started up games after games just rotating endlessly and it´s making me lose the plot. When I get back into the games after some time I have a hard time remembering what I was doing and it´s not fun. It´s better to just play one at a time.

And right now it´s Starfox Adventures. Just arrived at Cloudrunner Fortress after saving the bird in Cape Claw. This was one of my favorite games on the Gamecube and while it is still fun to play, it´s starting to show its age. It´s a lot of backtracking, uneven pacing and some borderline boring gameplay segments. But the majority of the game is still fun to play so I tend to overlook the flaws. Nostalgia is also strong here. But yeah, a remaster that fixes the issues plus the controls and camera are sorely needed. Maybe Ninty finally gets it done for Switch 2. Or even better. A sequel.

Now playing Ryse: Son of Rome.

It clearly suffered from Crytek wasting so much early development time trying to incorporate Kinect so heavily into the gameplay. The final product feels like exactly what it is: an action game with button mashing controls tacked-on in a rush to meet a deadline (Xbox One launch).
I'm about halfway through. Truly sick of every aspect of the "ranged" combat in the game, both offensive and defensive. That should have been stripped out entirely.

Been playing some Bully Scholarship Edition since burning out with KCD.

They don't make games like this these days. Very sharp, satirical, writing. They took a very tiny 'open world' by GTA standards and utilize it so well to make a full experience. The whole 'world' of Bully is just a bit bigger than the Grove Street neighborhood in San Andreas, but having a limited place to work with allows them to pack it with a lot more detail than the average GTA game would. The entire city and school also changes shape with the changing weathers, which is a very nice touch and makes the place feel a lot more lived-in.

Playing the X360 BC version (no res boost sadly, but the auto HDR + system level scaling + vsync + 16xAF is an improvement over native hardware at least), never played all of the new Scholarship Edition content. While it's nothing mind blowing, it adds multiple new missions and scenes to the otherwise small Christmas chapter.

It does more than that. It also has a biology class, a useful geography class (that reveals collectibles), a fun music class (at least on Wii version). What I like best about Bully is that you can use a decently complex system of grappling and strikes or pull out a skateboard at any time and hightail it. It also helps as you said that the world is well realized.

P.S. I was always hoping that a sequel would materialize and be a less trick focused Tony Hawk's Underground 2...

Second, when Lincoln, a Vietnam vet, is asked by his friend what the worst thing he witnessed, he hesitates, then says a woman threw her baby in the water rather than surrender a pig (food), saying she could always make another baby. Then he says, yeah man, poor people will do desperate things. I'm thinking, "You spent 4 years in Vietnam, in combat as a Marine, and that's the worst thing you witnessed?" It just came off stupid to me.

There's a similar scene in MASH. Granted the TV show has it with more emotion, but it also comes in the middle of the character still being a part of the war.

Lincoln is very far removed from the war at that point and he just witnessed his father figure and step brother get murdered.

Yeah, I watched a lot of MASH as a young guy. But that scene doesn't really map on. In the game, it is the woman's cavalier attitude that strikes Lincoln as awful ("eh, I'll just make another baby"). The woman in that scene kills the child (maybe accidentally) because it is endangering everyone else by crying.

Anyhow, though, my point was that if you've spent 4 years in Vietnam as a Marine, that is not the worst thing you've seen, not by a long shot. It just rang hollow to me.

Beat Gears 5. It was fun. I don't really love the Gears games and find them highly overrated, but it was fun. It is what I was looking for. The checkpoints sucked in this game though. It was really annoying at some points. Giving Lies of P a shot next. Hope I dig it.

Been playing some Dark Souls 3 even if I shouldn´t, lol. Gotta clear the backlog but I just keep coming back to this game. It´s so damn good. Just sublime gameplay. And the world building and level design is second to none. I can replay this game over and over and over and I never get tired. Easily one of my favorite games of all time, if not THE favorite of all time. I´ve also moved over all my Souls-gaming to PC from Playstation due to free online. These games are fun offline but the online component just adds another layer to it. It doesn´t feel the same without it. Cleared out Smouldering Lake and the Old Demon King. About to head into Irithyll which is my favorite area outside the Ringed City DLC. God I love this game.

Civilization 6. My last Civ game was Call To Power I think.. and I love playing this one, but I have so much more to learn.

Playing a multiplayer match with a friend by cloud, so whenever its your turn you get a notification on Steam. Perfect for dadgamers like us. :)

Also, Civ 7 releases next month and is looking quite hot!

Now playing: Halo Spartan Assault

I suspect this game worked a little better with the 360's gamepad. Aiming can be a little bit imprecise on the newer controllers.
Nice 120fps boost, though. And it was a good decision to keep the controls basically identical to FPS Halo. So there's no learning curve. It's just Halo, but top-down POV.

I just tried the demo for The First Berzerker: Khazan.

Oh well. Pass on this. I was waiting for this game for awhile. But do we really need to copy Souls all the time? Ditch the stamina and the flask system. Do your own thing. The Brink guard and block nonsense is weak. Had this been a straight up old school action game, I would've been all in.

Playing ton of cool shit for these two system. More specifically Mario Land 2 and Zelda Oracle of Ages. Then Dante's Inferno on PSP! : 3

It's a twin stick shooter iirc? You're playing on the series console?

Further into Mafia III now. It's picking up. I like it. They made some interesting additions to combat and driving. And after a somewhat slow start, things are up and running.

I don't like Lincoln as much as Tommy or Vito, but maybe he'll grow on me. I'm also not a big fan of how they dump a ton of backstory on you right up front, but whatever. I'm enjoying the missions, and that's what matters. It was nice to see Vito do a little cameo.

I love FROM games but I’m really starting get sick of this.

It’s like there is no other type of action combat out other than souls than type games….this modern military shooters faze back in PS3/360 era all over again.
I enjoy these games, but it would be awesome if there was more variety of action games. More like Stellar Blade even, which has Soulslike elements, but isn't trying to do exactly that.

I threw in Nioh last night just to have a look. I figured I'm never going to get to really playing it but wanted to at least have a peek. It's pretty cool.

I heard it was different from other souls game. From two hours of play, I have to disagree. It has a stripe of real action game in it, but overall it is patterned so closely to dark souls that it doesn't feel really different.

Seems like a good game, though! I'll play some more.

Just fyi: I think they improved on pretty much everything in a big way in Nioh 2, so if you like 1 chances are you'll like 2 even better.

If it's that kind of sequel, maybe I'll just jump over to two if I end up liking this one more. I happen to have this sitting on the Playstation subscription but I have no problem buying the sequel if I want to get serious.

Fantasian Neo Dimension (Switch)

Leo Level 51
Cheryl Level 50
Kina Level 50
Zinikr Level 50
Ez Level 50
Prickle Level 50
Valrika Level 50
Tan Level 50

I'm 60 Hours into Fantasian Neo Dimension

Beat Shadow of Yim

I used Zinikr and all I used was taunt. When I used taunt. It was easy to figure out which was the real Shadow of Yim when she makes two clones of herself and that status effects I put on her only shows up on the real one

I used Valrika and all I used was Arrow Rain and MP/HP Item on everyone

Kina I used to heal everyone

I mostly used Tan as my attack member. I used Desperation and than use those magic skills he has and than used his Jetstream EX attack when that gauge was full. Damage it gave it was around 15000 to 20000 with the rest of his attacks with Desperation giving around 15000

So I was able to beat her in 7 to 10 turns, and I had Curse Null and Seal Null Gem on all the characters I used

Also beat The Metal Ribbidon. Starting out all I can deal with damage wise ks 1 HP done to him. Filling up the Tension Gauge tends to give him 1000 to 2000 Damage to him which changes his color. When The Metal Ribbidon finally turned fully red and so I used Tan with Desperation which made alot of damage around 8000 with Rudy Strike Ex and than fill up my Tension Gauge again and this time deal MASSIVE Damage was satisfying to see

Tan is my favorite member to use since if you know what you are doing he tends to be good at dealing MASSIVE damage

To people who are playing this game for the first time

When it comes to enemies and bosses

You have to use their weaknesses against them

Learn their patterns

Even some bosses you have to pay attention to their movements because sometimes they will block their weak spot and you have to wait till the boss shows it's weak spot while you are on a character turn and than use the attack/spell on the weak spot

Using equipment like gems to null certain status effects

And using other equipment that can you help with fighting the bosses and enemies

Also you do have to respec your growth chart at times especially if you're dealing with a tough boss.

Right now I'm doing the Heart of the Infestation. I'm stuck at the boss Vam The Destroyer. It's a repeat of the first boss from the last section of the First Part. He's even harder here. Right now I'm just grinding as much as I can and I'm going to try to get my characters up to Level 60s and try again with the boss since even with me figuring out the patterns of the boss, respec my growth chart, etc etc, the boss has been giving me issues

So far I think I'll be able to finish this game spending another 40 to 50 Hours. So a good 90 to 110 hours total. I've been trying to do everything

You have fatalis aswell.
I’m gonna spend some time upgrading my gears before fighting Fatalis.

But I managed to take down Alatreon without using any Safi gears because I had zero desires to grind that boring fight.

Alatreon might have been very tough with element DPS check but still proper hunt and it was fun….can’t say the same about Safi'jiiva siege fight.

People should stop referencing data that makes me feel uncomfortable because games get ported to platforms I don't like
I got an itch for PSO after randomly running into a video of someone trying the game for the first time on YouTube so I started playing Phantasy Star Online Blue Burst on the Ephinea server.

Got Switch Online and have been playing Paper Mario while on holiday. Fantastic game. I remember playing this at a friend's as a kid and having to help him translate a bunch of stuff in order to progress in the game and it's so fun to return to it and see it to the end. I've just collected all the stars and on the way to face Bowser.
So much charm and the artsyle holds up incredibly well. Will definitely pick up TTYD to play at some point but will probably carry on playing some other N64 games such as Banjo Tooie as it was always too expensive to buy a copy of.

I'm in a bit of a slump playing nothing really since recently finishing RDR2. What a ride, can't believe I waited that long to finish it. And now I feel a bit empty inside.

I should go back to my most recent BG3 save, but the last thing I did was reach the Shah trials and I'm dreading that part.
