What game are you currently playing?

Tactics Ogre - Let Us Cling Together [Sega Saturn]
Playing the Saturn translation from a couple years back on official hardware using the Fenrir. This is actually the best translation ive seen of the text. The SNES fanmade one, and official PS1 translation were both godawful.
This is easily one of the greatest games ever created. Matsuno can truly do no wrong. A total legend. Im trying to savor every minute of this masterpiece.
This game right here - is the exact reason why I play videogames.

Batsugun S-Tribute [Xbox Series X]
Finally got the 1cc - using ship 2. Took some serious practice and a bit of luck - but the 1cc happened.
The granddaddy of bullethell. It all started here. This game will simply never get old.
This port has some super nagging input lag - and since I got the 1cc, I will likely (now) be shelving this version for good. I hope M2 takes a crack at the game. I saw Bitwave did a barebones port for Steam. Ill have to give that version a go.

Elemental Master [Sega Genesis]
This game screams 'Mega Drive' - and is the type of game that would only show up on the console. Technosoft tried something different with their shmup formula - and I love every second of it. Killer soundtrack as well. Gaming bliss...

LEFT ALIVE

Completed 3 chapters thus far. Its challenging. Digging the stealth-survival system. Seems to be kind of inspired by the Disaster report series and TLOU to some degree. Every possible encounter needs to be carefully considered, approached methodically and cautious.

Trine 5

Enjoyed the previous game, so decided to give this one a go, as it was on sale. Wow, it's actually trickier than the previous one. I'm early into the game, but some of the puzzles have left me stumped for a good while.

Subnautica

Replaying this absolute gem of a game after enough time has passed that I don't remember everything.

I've been so disappointed with recent purchases that I said fuck it and went for some comfort food. This game's sense of exploration, discovery, story telling, atmosphere, art direction...everything is so top notch. I'm also a sucker for any game that lets me scan shit.

I went back to FF15 after taking about a year off of it to play Rebirth and a few shorter games. I also had some work related stuff that kept me from it.

I'm in Chapter 13 now, which I know at launch was considered terrible. I'm curious what they changed because it doesn't seem too bad.

What a weird game. I've soured on the combat. It's just meh. Not enough depth to it, and it's weird playing a final fantasy game with such a small focus on magic and other skills. I don't think the story is that hard to follow as some say. But it's just.....disappointing? It feels like so much happens off screen that if it had been part of the game would have made it a better experience. The open world section feels like a lost opportunity to essentially use it as a series of focused quests to find the Royal Arms and then the second part of the game could have been focused on getting the Astrals on your side. I know development for this game was a mess. It's just a shame because I believe there's an awesome game in there somewhere instead of just an average experience.

I'm also playing a lot of Balatro. And Sea of Stars. I basically always have one old school RPG going on my switch. It's such a great indie/JRPG machine. Sea of Stars so far is great. About four hours in. I love the art style and the nostalgia around it.

AC Shadows - I am working on Yaskuke's storyline and I am really enjoying it. His whole backstory was really well done, imo. I'm definitely taking my time with the game, don't expect to finish it anytime soon.

Schedule I - what a hilarious game! I'm only a few hours in but I've upgraded my accommodations to the place above the Chinese restaurant, and I'm hiring my first dealer, which is exciting. Gotta get more pot plants going now, and branch out my network of customers.

Suikoden I - Still working on this from time to time, always on the PS Portal and always whilst laying in bed before going to sleep. I'm up to the point where you gotta kill the zombie dragon to unlock the hideout, but the dragon is kicking my ass every time. I did some grinding but he still beats me. I haven't looked up a strat but I'm sure I'm missing something that makes the fight easier....

Been trying out Blue Prince, and I am getting beyond fucked by RNG to the point where I'm in a dozen days and haven't seen any of the permanent upgrades except for stars. Still have more than half of the rooms undiscovered, and every single run feels like I'm pulling the same shitty common rooms over and over again, preventing me from progressing. I've already figured out some of the easier puzzles, but I can't actually put them to use because of the random draw system.

I really, really want to like this game. There is so much potential, but the randomness of the content drip is super frustrating.

I started playing Yakuza Kiwami a few days ago. It's a good game so far. The main story is interesting, let's see where it goes. Yakuza 0's story was phenomenal, I really enjoyed it, so I hope this one follows a similar level of quality. For the rest, not much has changed, and the little that has changed has been for the better, which is good enough.

Keep switching games these days, I re-installed Everspace 2 but the music, the gameplay loop of travelling and collecting stuff, delivering shipments is making me fall asleep....again. Its a great game when the action ramps up but man the in between is very dull.

I'm looking for something that I can turn my brain off to a degree, no heavy story stuff, just progress and have fun. I've also re-installed the Division 2 to see if it will scratch that itch.

I hated the puzzles in Everspace 2. I had zero fun with those, I found them to be very frustrating

I usually turn to Helldivers 2 or one of the Monster Hunter games when I'm looking for that type of gameplay

I'm also on and off playing Wilds right now, but there's a lack of motivation since I've been able to best every hunt. I guess there are other weapons to play around with. Helldivers 2 is a solid game, thanks for reminding me of that. Totally forgot I have it.

I finally reached chapter 11 in Xenoblade X DE and even I just spend close to 130 hours in to this I still dont want this game to be over yet.

I think it was brilliant idea not giving you Skell and flying flight module right away.....There is satisfying feeling after exploring on foot you finally get your Skell you see entire Mira entire different light.

The Skell in this game is treated like air ship in classic JRPG which you also dont get right away until mid way though.

Finished Dino Crisis yesterday. GoG version of the game is absolutely flawless.

Think this was the last time I played it though. Kinda like it less every time I play it. The first part of the game is pretty good still but from the point where the squad is attacked by the T-Rex and takes the elevator to the labs, it looses its charm quite a bit. It makes 0 sense that there are even dinosaurs down there. And the speedboat T-Rex at the end is hilarious.

Anyway, now up to Cyperpunk again to finish Phaton Liberty until the Oblivion Remaster drops.

After finishing the wonderful South of Midnight I moved on to Atomfall which I love already and only played for like 3 hours or so. I'm not a big Sniper Elite guy but this rocks. Just travelling the countryside and doing quests. Feel more like a brit Stalker than a Fallout.

Checked a few GP games I missed that are leaving the service. Have a nice Death is a pretty well-made rogue-like but lack of any meaningful progression killed it for me. I enjoyed the first 10 or so runs, but I don't think I will continue. Hades it is not.

Kona II is an OK walking sim but it is not interesting enough for me to finish it, I think.

Resident Evil Director's Cut
Heading to the underground area now. I think I've missed a mo disc, but I don't care that much. Sorry, Chris.

Resident Evil 3 Remake
This runs better than I imagined on the Steam Deck. Battery gets used up fast. Just switched on the power and heading back to the train.

Resident Evil 4 Remake - VR
I cannot get used to the PSVR2 controllers. I think it's because I'm used to the Quest 2 controllers. Keep pressing the wrong buttons which led to me getting killed by the chainsaw fella. Will have another go later this evening. Visuals impressive though.

ace combat 7 still amazing but difficultied levels not expectered
Always play on Ace difficulty if able in Ace Combat games. It's pretty much the 'real' game.
>
If you didn't know - hidden 'named' aces show up on every map in the higher difficulties. Sometimes you have to do certain things for them to show up.
Usually if you see something out of place or weird on radar - that's the hidden ace.
When you shoot them down - there's a record and description of them in the gallery in the menus.

Robocop, and I hope it improves. I can tolerate the slow walking speed during the action sequences, but it's a pain during the hub areas, when hoofing it between awful dialogue scenes and errand runs.

If you are playing the Royal Edition, the final chapter was significantly overhauled. That's probably the biggest change.
