Ok all I am trying to watch this and I find it frustrating as hell. I am 23 episodes in and
Tenma proving his innocence in the eyes of the law isnt his goal at all. It doesn't matter what the evidence says no matter how much of a coincidence it may seem in their eyes. Lunge only believes in evidence and Johan technically doesn't exist therefore Tenma is the culprit in his eyes. If Tenma does turn himself in he has no proof that Johan is the killer
and Lunge is convinced Tenma has split personality called Johan. Just keep watching and suspend some bit of disbelief for European law enforcement in 1990s.

If he turns himself in he's looking at weeks if not months of going to trial when all he wants to do is stop Johan. When they ask him so who killed his co-workers and superiors he'd have to say a little boy did it which wouldn't be a good look for him. Tenma knows he seems the most guilty and he's not willing to take that risk.

But to go to trial, wouldn't they need evidence? They have nothing linking him to the murders and he talked to the cops about it. When older Johan killed the first guy in front him, he immediately went to the cops and told them what happened. At that point, of anything, that would have been the best time to hold him because he has no alibi whatsoever and they couldn't hold him at that time. Yet they are still like, "he must be guilty!" like what has to be at least a decade later. I understand Tenma is hunting down Johan at this point.

It also cracked me up when
the chick hands the ex cop the gun with four barrels, tells him it only works at point blank range (how the f does that gun even work) yet he becomes John Wick with moving targets. He does get shot, for the shows credit though.

I'd really recommend frieren. She's an elf so she lives longer than her adventuring companions. It's about love and loss.

Besides the 1st season of True Detectives with woody and mcconaughey it's the only show that I rewatched a week later.

Art work is great. Very pastel.

I love how OP asked for adult anime, but most people here are just recommending their favorite anime.

Shounen isnt adult. By definition its the opposite, in fact.

My list:

* Tatami Galaxy
* Devilman Crybaby
* Paprika
* Tokyo Grandfathers
* Blade of the Immortal (tho I really recommend the manga)
* Pluto

It's tough to find good adult anime, imo. Since they arent as popular as shounen, they dont get adapted to anime often, so most of my best recommendations are in the manga format.

Goodnight Punpun and Goodbye Erin, for example, are masterpieces that have never been adapted.

I highly recommend Goodnight Punpun, OP. Unless you are depressed.

I mean he asked for anime for adults, and ended up listing Solo Leveling as his starting point, so the other recs. fit.

My top 5 favorite anime are:
1. Cowboy Bebop
2. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
3. Orb: On the Movements of the Earth (still airing lol)
4. Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day
5. Monster

I'd recommend you watch Bebop, Orb, and Monster!

How is Apothecary Diaries and Solo Leveling?

I’m not a Dragon Ball person, but it always seem like adults watch Dragon Ball as well.

I forgot another masterpiece: Mob Psycho

I just remembered one from the recesses of my brain: Now and then, here and there

It's short, only 13 episodes. It's very dark, and a subversion of shonen and isekai tropes. It starts off with a typical shonen-archetype protag getting isekai'd into what is basically Somalia, and tackles themes regarding child soldiers, slavery, and abuse under a fascist regime at war.

It reminded me of the movie Pleasantville in a way; the protag is intentionally established as a typical shonen MC, and the world he's thrown into culture shocks him into seeing things from a previously black/white perspective into a complicated grey. A very uncomfortable, feel-bad watch.

One of my favourite series. OST is incredible.
