Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul are tied for me. Both were incredible from start to finish and even nailed the endings.

Band of Brothers would be up there as well if a miniseries counts.

That's why I love old DVD/CD/carts/roms, etc. Whatever they decide to mess with next, the good old stuff is still here. They'll never take it away from my cold dead hands.
You probably not know where im coming from on this but that phrase "take from my cold dead hands" was a bumper sticker on a car in Red Dawn.

I have no idea why i just remembered that from 40 years ago.

The Wire! grounded in reality, nothing even comes close.
Rewatched season one a month ago. Some of the detectives drinking on the job, drinking at their desk, often clearly hungover/drunk in front of their boss was something else. Or only interested in overtime pay. The focus on the murder clearance rate and office politics and who is left holding the bag. It was a great first season.

I heard of Red Dawn and a remake was made a number of years ago but heard it was pretty bad so skipped over it. North Koreans invading the US? They wouldn't invade Chinatown.

One of the producers on The Wire worked for the Baltimore police department for 20 years, including spending time as a homicide detective. So a lot of the police stuff is coming from first hand experience. Hope you enjoy the rest of the show.

Pesky Russians and Koreans Vs Patrick Swayze. They never stood a chance.

Found the quote, not the same but I was close. Fuck knows why that came to mind first thing in the morning lol.

I've been watching Better Call Saul the past couple of weeks and it's absolutely stellar

I'm on the last two episodes now and this might be my favorite show ever

Edit: just finished it. 10/10 across the board. I'm rewatching Breaking Bad asap

I’ve heard of the shows in the poll, but have never watched any. The last series I watched was person of interest and supernatural back in 2016-2017.

I’m not a TV watcher or movie goer. However, Airwolf was killer when I was growing up and in the 90s we had the Viper TV show.

One of those or maybe the A-team. Damn I loved that show as a kid. Also, cannot forget about Judge Harry T. Stone and Bull Shannon, man it was great back then.

Lost (there’s just something about sweaty folk running through a jungle that does it for me), The Sapranos, The Shield, Better Call Saul, Breaking Bad, 24, Dexter, The Office…

So much good TV over the years

I'm not sure any show that ran a proper number of seasons has nailed them all. Breaking Bad lost its mojo in the last season and change, started getting too silly. The Wire's last season was that newsroom nonsense right?

And my beloved Galactica? After New Caprica the dip was rough. I think it rebounded a bit by the end... but still waiting on the perfect show.

I still say you have different types of shows.

Comedy/drama/etc.

Better call Saul / Breaking Bad
Sopranos
Wire
Shield
Xfiles
Simpsons
Frasier
West Wing

These are the ones that get strong consideration from American tv shows, imo.
