One of the things I have noticed about Neogaf mods is that even if you argue with them they won't ban you like some powertripping forums. That is unless you are saying something inflammatory or untrue which you deserve to get banned.

Oh! Oh! How about a "go to original post" button next to the quote. You wouldn't need multiquote that way and you can see what was said within the context and stuff. I made a topic about it once!

I don't let my guard down until I get to know the mod well. I know of two mods that I've noticed to be fair and seem pretty cool.

I honestly don't.

To be completely serious, my memory (in life, not just for this forum) isn't the best in the world. When it comes to GAF, I've forgotten a TON of stuff over the past decade- my time as a mod/admin included. I can honestly only remember getting banned for 2 things (posting that joke porn thread and the do something new every day thread... pretty sure the Nintendogs incident got me de-adminned, but not banned), yet I know that I've probably been banned ~10 times in the past 10 years.

But I'll echo what you said early in this thread, in that you were a kid during GAF's beginning, and so was I. I think you and I are around the same age actually. Breaking the rules and making people laugh back then was the best thing ever, but when you reach your late twenties like I have, you change. I still like to try to crack people up, but I don't think I've been banned in a few years now, whereas in the earlier days, it used to be every few months.

Anyway, I'm sorry if I caused a bunch of grief for you back then.

Yes, Ethelred. Typo on my part. And if he is around, I must be missing his posts. I don't think I have seen anything from him since either the Dragon Quest IV or V OT.

I can't believe there were only 4k people on GAF when I joined and there are nearly 80k people now. No wonder I remember so many of the old schoolers and don't recognize most posters nowadays. This place is huge. I used to be able to see everyone who was logged in without scrolling down the page - and I was probably on 1280 x 700 or 800 x 600 back then! I'm browsing in 1920x1080 now and I have to scroll. Damn.

Oh, maybe there are only 65k. I just plugged into user ids into urls until no users came up. 60,000 worked. 70,000 worked. 80,000 was too high. 79500 worked.

That's likely why I still remember you, even with the name change. Even if I posted here every day, I still wouldn't be able to keep track of even 10% of the active posters. I barely remember everyone in the NBA thread.

You should also be able to choose if you want a tag or to never have a tag ever. That will never happen I'm sure. Tag are just a label the maaaaaaaaaan gives you. :p

When I say that I vaguely remember you voicing a concern during my de-adminning about my account being hacked, I say vaguely not because I'm trying to portray myself in a better light, but because I honestly can't really remember that well.

Re: the hacking that got you demodded, yeah your password was guessed (12345? haha) by some Australian guy and he used your account to wreak a bunch of havoc, and we had to restore the entire forum from a backup.

Sometimes when I am walking down the street I wonder if some of the people I see are Gaffers.

I bet I know at least one Gaffer but neither of us have no idea the other has a Gaf account.

I always imagined if I got a tag, I wouldn't want it because it made me look like an idiot (not hard). Then I'd ask someone to remove it, they wouldn't, and I'd say delete my GAF account.
