The CCP isn't going to give up. They will acquire Ubisoft. I suspect it will take a bit longer than they originally wanted, though.

AC Shadows will make or break them. Despite many hardcore gamers passing on it, it will still sell okay with the casuals I think. Don't know if it'll be enough though.

It has money in the bank?

People always forget that if a company is huge, usually there's a reserve for emergency. Also, if the company is at deficit but the money is still rolling, it can work around

Those are the same people that says that Nintendo was going to end

usually no, wins are redistributed especially if a dire situation arrives, everything else is held back to pay wages so you dont come over as a dickhead (i.e. european law knocking at your door for social contributions)

they dont hold a reserve for emergencies because of tax reasons and the people that should care don't

Ubisoft have 21 Thousand Staff!
All of PlayStation is around 13 thousand staff.

I don’t know what games they make outside of AC but I’d think they could halve in size and still have thousands of employees sitting on their thumbs.

Such a shame to see what has happened to Ubisoft. Or rather, what they have done to themselves. They have so many great IP's and once upon a time I viewed their logo as a quality seal. The games had flaws, yes, but they were fun. Valhalla was the last Ubi game I really enjoyed.

I bought Mirage on sale but turned it off when I heard the voice acting. Felt old as hell to me after Indiana Jones. Maybe I should give it another chance.

I generally don't play Ubisoft games, so I'm not sure how they are still in business today.

I've always wondered who these millions of people are who play these (imho bad) games and pay full price for them.

How is it possible this company has stayed so secure for so long?

I try to buy most good games, and the only game I've bought from them in forever is the new POP metroidvania. Who keeps buying these?

My conclusion is that there is a nostalgia point in history revolving around Assassin's Creed and that is why yall keep buying them. I must have not been involved with that nostalgia point at the time, so I have no interest in modern Ubi games.

They have like 5+ ac games in pre-production, and that is only the ac side of things.

Having so many people working on games it's why they thought suck and bombes was an AAAA :lollipop_grinning_sweat:

I wonder how's the morale over Ubi right now as we speak? Imagine working with so much pressure it must suck to know you might get fired.

They will probably remaster older AC games with UE5 to keep their bottom line. But they need to release some new games with their old IPs to stick around. I would be there day 1 to buy a new Prince of Persia and Driver game. I think we're all sick of Ass Creed right about now.

Kinda crazy we don’t see Sony or Microsoft scooping them up. Regardless of how we “feel” about current UBISOFT they have a bunch of big IP’s that can easily be redefined and brought back.

I think Sony would be eager to own these since Microsoft has activation / blizzard now it would be a decent pickup to bolster their library.

Wouldn’t mind a reboot of the Splinter Cell/ Rayman and driver series myself.

They need to last until they've got Heroes of Might & Magic: The Olden Era out.

Ideally, they would also last until they've got that Rayman game they're supposedly working on out.

You can only milk a game so long before people get tired of it.

With COD... at least its a competitive game. People get addicted to it.

No one needs to play another Assassins Creed.... ever again.

There was a prediction thread before PS4 and XB1 launched and the majority that replied there thought PS4 would end up in last place and Sony's would exit the console market. Look how that one turned out.

GAF is really bad at predictions lmao :messenger_tears_of_joy:
That outlook changed quickly after MS and Sony reveals. That game sharing video was especially hilarious alongside “we have a system for folks offline, it’s called Xbox 360” and “who would want to live in those shithole places”.

MS PR self own was absolutely amazing.

Edit: As far as Ubi goes, Guilemotts will either sell or go down in flames. They won’t keep control of the company.
