Where the gamepass numbers at?
but not in the Uk Boxed Sales market. So it doesn't matter."Gaming" is bigger than Windows lol
What will my purpose be once Xbox is dead?
Probably just kill myself
Yes, and January - March 2023 was bad already. They are expecting a 40% drop in hardware next Q?

Hardware sells better during holidays.
Yes. In income compared to Q3 (January-March) 2023. Possible price reduction or discounts + fewer units.... That -40% in income would not be a surprise. If you add a possible announcement of games coming to PS5/Switch and it doesn't seem like ABK games will be coming to Gamepass soon... even more so.They are expecting a 40% drop in hardware next Q?
Now, I'm not being sarcastic or anything, and I might be completely wrong. But isn't omitting profit from specific segments relatively common among these huge companies that work with various different services and products? Don't Amazon and Apple, for example, do the same?Where the gamepass numbers at?
It's likely a YoY comparison. Comparing Jan-Mar 2023 to Jan-Mar 2024.

An award from who?I expect Phil to get an award or two for this.

Zuck should've done that with the Quest segment. His transparency meant that investors dragged him over the coals for the massive losses in the division.

Aren't you a pugilist? You can go back to fighting instead of wasting yourself if Xbox goes extinct. What will my purpose be once Xbox is dead?

But, at $299 and $499, they are already selling both consoles at a loss.Probably closer to 600K consoles as I suspect they will not want to sell XSX at a loss.
One way would be to sell more Series X instead of the cheaper Series S.i'm confused so hardware revenue went up, but they sold less consoles? i am not sure i follow
Yep, and then Sony and Nintendo attempting to pivot their own businesses to streaming, Cloud, and "games available on all platforms" once they see how large the margins become when hardware is virtually eliminated.Looking forward to Xbox embracing the role of being gaming's biggest third party publisher starting next gen

I’ll bring up the same thing I always bring up when Microsoft shares their revenue:
How much is actual profit?
$8 billion in gaming revenue don’t mean Jack if there is $9 billion in expenses.
Still no me mention of Gamepass subscribers.
Margins are much lower when the cost of the "console" is taken up by the platform holder. In a console world, you pay $500 and you game locally on your machine. That's great for MS, Sony and Nintendo. In a cloud world, MS has to pay $500 for a machine and $$$ for energy costs, real-estate, installation of the server blades, and expensive on-premise and off-premise engineers to maintain the infrastructure.Yep, and then Sony and Nintendo attempting to pivot their own businesses to streaming, Cloud, and "games available on all platforms" once they see how large the margins become when hardware is virtually eliminated.
You speak as if Microsoft doesn't already have the infrastructure in place today to do exactly that. If you are not Microsoft or Amazon, then I guess you should be worried.Margins are much lower when the cost of the "console" is taken up by the platform holder. So why the move to Cloud? They think they can attract more consumers by reducing the upfront cost of entering the ecosystem and because cloud is a hot topic on Wall St. So their bet is on shitter margins but much more volume.
X-Cloud is separate to Azure because the hardware has to be a console, not a random VM from Azure. I would say cloud is an inferior business model for MS, but the realities of the market are forcing them to adopt a low-margin business model, and bet on scale and volume instead. You speak as if Microsoft doesn't already have the infrastructure in place today to do exactly that. It still amazes me how Phil went from being top notch gaming savior to the worst calamity in the industry and candidate to the walk of shame. I need to think about this for a while, looking at my Series X...
Hard disagree. I like my Xbox. I want them to continue in the dedicated platform business.just kill that shit.
happy for you. but i am talking about the market.Hard disagree. I like my Xbox. I want them to continue in the dedicated platform business.
I agree, that Sony CEO guy sure is looney. So delusional lol
