No way I'm watching this. I'm already on blackout for this game. I want to go in fresh, last thing I want is to see the first 18 minutes of the game or some "Lets play", no thanks.

Eagerly awaiting 3/24 for what will most likely by my personal GOTY.

After watching the video, all i can say is that i really need to go back and finish Dark Souls. I want this game so bad, but i don't want to start without finishing DS first ('cause i know that will never go back then lol)

Edit. I, for one, love the fact that the HUB is back. One of my favorite things in DeS :)

What do people see in this game again?

Fun, challenge, the feeling of reward/achievement after a hard boss, etc. Lots of stuff in fact.

Those feels I had playing DeS for the first time, they are back.

Oh my god this looks like a good fucking game. I want to bathe in it's atmosphere.

Oops sorry my bad then. I am pretty sure I read in a preview that magic is not there along with shields. I am surely mistaken then.

Given that it looks like there might be some connection to Demon's Souls, maybe magic is an old, "lost" skill that you can use under some circumstances.

How much would i be spoiling myself if I watched this?

Repeating my self from earlier in the thread . It is not that spoilery at all. It just shows the hub but no new enemies, weapons etc.. It is surprisingly a very well done video to showcase what the game is about without spoiling anything. Go for it.

I would say it's fairly safe to watch, as a big part of the video the play is in the area that was in the Alpha. Granted, it's slightly different, but still.

I did skip the beginning scenes just so those won't be spoiled. But gameplay looks fun. This game seems to carry the haunting aura that Demon's and Dark 1 had, but probably to a higher degree.

That still might be the case. The stat just throws a bit of confusion into the mix. hopefully we're getting an indepth breakdown of these stats sometime some :D

Apart from the intro (5 first minutes) and the hub area, the rest is pretty much the alpha area but with some new stuff here and there
(some new streets, NPCs...)
. No new area (against, except hub) or bosses and such.

Almost nothing.

Most of the content of this video was somehow shown in the trailers already, and is a very small parcel of the game. Also, they do not show the character creation.

Its good to see more about the gameplay and the mechanics, and about the gaming atmosphere over the first level.

Great, thanks!

What do people see in this game again?

Awesome level design? Stat-based RPGs combined with legitimately good combat mechanics? Phenomenal art design? Awesome soundtrack? Great exploration?

If you haven't played the Souls games, then I think it would hard to be interested, because you don't have a context for what is actually happening with the levels. Interesting loot, branching paths, challenging boss fights... none of which shows is in simple ten minute sample videos.

Watched it. Very nice.

My only complaint is the horrendous aliasing. It looks like the game doesn't use any AA at all. Really distracting.

Also, it looks like the game will have day/night cycles it seems.

That menu image looks just like Dark Souls.

It took me like 10 tries to beat the first boss of Dark Souls and that felt like such an accomplishment. Then I heard that was the easiest one and got turned off. I like a challenge but it took so long just to get back to the boss when you lost. I should probably give it more time, but I'm already more interested in this game. Hmm

Don't be disheartened. Most people that put hundreds of hours are not relevant to you. It's a pretty difficult boss for the first time. Keep playing if you find it interesting. It gets better and better.

What do people see in this game again?

Fans of Demon's/Dark Souls are excited for a spiritual successor. It's got tight combat, rich lore and great looking environments.

What doesn't sound appealing from that description and this video? Are you not familiar with the Souls games?

What do people see in this game again?

If it's anything like the Souls games: an immersive atmosphere, intricate level design to get lost in, fun and challenging gameplay with no hand-holding, tons of secrets to find, deep lore to unravel, interesting and frightening NPC/monster/boss designs, fun as hell co-op and PvP, and hundreds of hours of replayability. So basically everything about it.

I'm glad that the NPCs didn't end EVERY sentence with a "hehehe...".

Now i just need to know if you can turn on subtitles, because i couldn't understand what the first one said very clearly.

Looking foward to see the character creation vid now.

I'm liking everything... except the chromatic aberration. It's really distracting in the Hunter's Dream, but I'm not sure if it's only present in that area.

Didn't get the appeal of demons souls or dark souls when I initially saw game footage of it. Seemed like generic action game with a difficulty gimmick.

I was obviously wrong.

Aliasing looks pretty bad in the beginning. Hopefully its just an old build and they've reduced it a tad. I wouldn't mind it too much. The only things I really hope for is that the FPS is pretty consistent.

What do people see in this game again?

GOTG came early.

Damn the game has a much faster pace than previous titles. I played the alpha but I was a bit slow and methodical. It's too bad the Cleric Beast camera still looks like crap.

Dude, Hunstman's Copse and FotFG are possibly the only two that are not corridors. There is little to no exploration in the game. Copse has it, but I have a feeling that was the very first zone they ever worked on, along with FotFG. Heide's, Iron Keep, Earthen Peak, Drangleic Castle, Lost Bastille, and almost every other zone are all corridors. There is no exploration, you just keep going forward until you hit a bonfire or a boss fog. Come on man, Sinner's Rise is literally a straight path to the door to Lost Sinner.

Sinner's rise is not a level, the level is the Bastille. And the Bastille is full of secrets, shortcuts.

I agree that the various areas are disconnected and that's what i don't like but the levels are very good and there ios plenrty of exploration.

A corridor game is FFXIII, surely not DSII

About this gameplay video, it looks amazing. But i am not saying GOTY yet as many already did, i have to play it.

Almost everything you want in a game.

Exceptional track record (D. Souls gameplay; From Software in development)
Amazing atmosphere.
Top notch gameplay: It inherits one of the best action RPGs combat mechanics, with some tweaks that will possibly make it even better.
Fenomenal art direction.

Thats enough for me! =)

Love seeing all of the "no way am I watching this" responses. I'm firmly in that camp.

End of March is too far away!

Caved and watched bit of the video just to get an idea for graphics, art, and feel of the game. My pants are so tight, im going to need a titanium reinforced zipper...

But holy crap, those jaggies. As pretty as the game is, that is really detracting. I didn't think it was going to be that bad from the comments. But, its an early build, or possibly IGNs capturing, or both, so Im not worried, yet.

A game that's challenging, drenched in dark fantasy atmosphere, and that encourages the player to explore and experiment? Mostly the same things people saw in Demon's Souls and Dark Souls. It's obviously not everyone's cup of tea/blood but I don't think it's *that* hard to imagine why some are excited.

It didn't really bother me in the build I played at PAX. I mean, there were certainly jaggies, but it didn't seem terrible or anything. I was playing pretty close to the screen, too.
