I don't know if anyone talked about it when it came out on Steam (I feel like I didn't see much about it, but then again almost no one seems to have played it, and it was already out on itch.io for a bit so maybe you guys talked about it back then), but I played Beeswing the other day and it's an astonishingly lovely game that I'm sad doesn't really have any sort of market now. Hope some people here checked it out at least, I posted a review if you'd like more urging.
Saying Beeswing moved me is easy. Calling it a work of art is reductive and redundant. There isn’t a single word that can describe what Beeswing is and will mean for different people, and that’s why it’s so stunning and important. It isn’t a game that can be taken easily, or that will likely entertain, but what it is able to say about life, death, and all the messy bits in between was more profound than any number of polygons and kill streaks have ever come close to being.
I also played Neverending Nightmares this morning and found it...underwhelming. Would love to know what others thought of it, since it feels like I'm in the minority in not being so taken by it.
By the end however it wouldn’t have mattered if Neverending Nightmares had found a way to make its mechanical insides work together, because it isn’t working toward any end worth arriving at. The scattered plot becomes more threadbare and contradictory as it goes on, fabricating confusing imagery and dialogue for the sake of actual progression. In the end it settles for tired, hastily wrapped up clichés which gave little closure and felt more bizarre and unfocused than anything Neverending Nightmares had showed me thus far.

I love one of the quotes he's used for the steam page on Beeswing is:

“self-important posturing”

I didn't get on with Neverending too. I appreciate the craftmanship of that game and it clearly meant a lot to the developer, but as a horror experience I found it too safe, almost cliche at times. It also didn't help that I never clicked with the art style, scenes that were meant to be horrific I found comical due to how the game looked.

Steredenn is lovely. The most impressive thing is I didn't really realize it was procedurally generated until my third try (I got a review key and didn't read the description). Need to play it more to get the hang of it, but it seems better than I'd expect for a roguelike shooter (I'm not sure why I think that won't work honestly--Binding of Isaac is fairly close to a shmup in many ways)

The game is quite challenging. Like even the early enemies can be dangerous if you get hit. I love how varied the weapons are. And just how pretty the game looks, between the weapons effects and the environments every battle is a spectacle

Can't beat a good shooter.

The dev should offer us all free steam keys so we can try it and say how ace it is :)

Its fine if a dev does that (even though that doesnt guarantee I'll say its a good game), and I know you only said it in harmless jest/fun, but there are plenty of people who do this at face value to beg for codes, so I'd appreciate not using such comments here ;)

Yeah, I noticed it was quite hard right off the bat, but that's to be expected of almost any roguelikes and most shmups. Weapons looked cool. Downside of a roguelike is I feel a need to play a lot before I really feel I have a valid opinion on it or feel ready to show it off. Same for RPGs. On the plus side playtime/$ is hard to beat...but that's not really a problem I have.

Feist and The Swindle in July...ugh, going to be a tough decision

I saw you playing this earlier - how is it?
Very pretty and very tough. Randomly generated waves that are challenging from the start. There are a lot of unique weapon pick-ups, from drones to an ultralaser to a giant sawblade. You can mix and match any two weapons you find, making the playthrough feel pretty different depending on your luck. Shield + drones caters to a different approach than being outfitted with a superlaser and chainsaw, more passive versus more aggressive. Very varied enemies and bullet patterns, tight controls, a story mode as well as an arena and challenges

Voting June!

RULES THIS MONTH IN SHORT: Up to 10 games, at least 4.

Why?
Because we want to offer people who first step into the thread an easy go-to list for great games. Plus it gives more attention to the titles that really deserve it.

How?
Everyone votes on his top 10 games out of the ones that already have been released AND are mentioned in the OP (So everything in Post 2). I'll tally the results and put the best 5 in the next thread. A minimum voting count of 4 is required. Feel free to vote for games that you deem "important" or the ones that you enjoyed the most. Since this is a rather communicative thread, feel free to include a short description why these games ended up on your list. Every list entry gets 1 point for the overall ranking.

When?
This thread is still open until the end of the month, so you can drop your list in here whenever you want. You can also change your list up to the last day. I wont start the count before the last day of the month, so everyone has still time to revise their lists and play some games. Speaking of which, if you dont even KNOW 7 games to vote for, there are plenty free games in the OP to check out. Most of which are rather short too. Use the remaining week to catch up with 1 or 2 titles you didnt get around to yet!

Which?
Since the list got rather long, here is the complete list of games to vote for for this month.

I've hardly touched a thing this month with the Steam sale and E3 my free time has been spent reading, watching and buying.

Going to be a busy few days.

I don't think ive even posted a new game.

Expect a few incoming soon!!!

Had a look through the list and remembered playing Butcher - really enjoyed my time with that.

I was a KS backer for Neverending Nightmares and ended up beeing largely disapointed with the game. Really loved the artstyle, but the gameplay is uterely boring, sections are too long and repetitive. Didn't even bothered to finish it, despite the semi interesting story and atmosphere. Too bad

Playing through Her Story now with my girlfriend. It's really good - I can't help but feel that this final stage (where we're only missed a handful of clips) could be handled better. The fun of exploring and unravelling the mystery is gone and now we're just guessing words to try and fill in those final few blanks.

Hey guys - so Orelight is out today. I don't know a huge amount about the game other than one of the lads I went to uni with is working on it. He's sent me a spare key if anyone wants it? Again - I'd rather it go to a happy home where the game will get some decent playtime and any feedback or whatever goes onto the early access forums. Here's the game:

Orelight

OreLight, a dungeon crawling, multiplayer RPG with crafting, mining, base building and stabbing. Everything in the world can be dug up, replaced or moved, so building anything from a small hut to an entire town is possible.

(I've already made a post previously for Toma Bot so this one doesn't need to be formatted correctly)

Hope he does well with it - see it's in EA so hopefully with some more work the reviews will start to improve.

Not looking for the key - ive got so much on I would hardly play it and have already been lucky enough to pick up a couple of keys in here.

Just wanted to indirectly wish them luck with the game!!!

Fort Meow is a fun, cute little defense game on Steam and iOS. I think I mentioned it before. I noticed while running through my bundle/review/unplayed games that Steam finally has a decent amount of short cheap little Defense style games like that. Played a billion hours of those in high school and it's interesting to see if those devs can make decent enough money actually selling their games.

Spherify Effect - PC
