I stopped reading an hour ago, and it was 3-6 officers down, none dead. I come back and see 11 shot, 4 dead, and per the fox streaming footage 2 suspects at large. I'm going to bed now, but I'm worried about what I'll wake up to. Stay safe everyone. Avoid wide open areas with lots of people if possible.

CNN playing video of the gunshots.

You can clearly tell they're coming from different locations. And likely two different types of guns.

The guy recording the video even comments that "No way this is one person."

Quit shitting on Don Lemon people...he's literally getting information served to him through his ear piece at a much slower pace than Twitter moves. If you want to blame anyone blame the police for their initial wording.

This is horrible, will all be blamed on BLM, and then there will even more entrenchment on both sides.

Hope this doesn't grow to other protests and cities.

Stuff has reached a boiling point.

That doesn't seem fair as the picture was tweeted out by the Dallas Police Department, and the police asked for help identifing him during the press conference... unless you're referring to a different picture.
It's perfectly fair. Do you want your picture on CNN so every vigilante can come after you?

i've been begging for over 5 years.
I wish CNN would take a commercial break to let Don the dumbass catch up on current developments.

It felt like there was going to be progress on police reform earlier today. Then this shit happened. Now the ensuing blue outrage will cancel out what ever drive for reform would have take place.

This country needs a soft reset. We don't want a hard rest for fuck sakes...

That guys who had his picture posted as a "suspect" by various news outlets needs to sue for defamation.

I'm also seeing more posts here implying this was 4chan's doing? How is it OK for one online community to blame another online community with nothing to back it up? Please.

Not a bad idea? Are you serious? Dude's life is probably ruined for a while.

Investigating =/= publically statiting he's a POI.

I'm not really informed on the implications of being falsely accused of something like this. It was only for a few minutes so I'm hoping the damage to his reputation isn't too bad. Just curious, but what could happen to him because of this?

Cable news journalism is fucking useless in the age of social media. They're behind the curve and often wrong. Anyone with an internet connection, access to twitter/other platforms and critical thinking skills can do better and learn more. Absolutely useless.

The guy was a POI because he was carrying an ASSUALT RIFLE. Citizens did the RIGHT thing by sending in pics of him to police. The second the POLICE released the pic the news had to report it. There is no one to blame but the guy with the rifle.

Damn another cop dead. RIP

How about the fucking texas state legislature which made open carry legal?

This shit just wasted police time and resources and made the crime scene more confusing for them to sift through.

How could anyone think that guy was responsible when it was being reported there were shots from TWO ELEVATED positions?

And he is clearly on the ground level when the shooting begins?

A line of tactical vehicles just went by. Looked like Feds going into the perimeter (area where shootings happened).

It seems really trivial to say right now, but that Corey Hughes seems like a great guy. I've been seeing him every time I check back in on CNN and he's been calm, collected and helpful through the whole thing. I hope everything with his brother being misidentified gets sorted out.

The guy turned himself in, the POI. He's ok.
Phew

It's super scary that the shooters are still out there. I know it sounds like theyhaveone cornered but who knows. If they were buildings what's to stop them from just packing up and sneaking out into the crowd.
