Why do so many hypers have really awkward startup animations? The camera just sort of abruptly freezes on the model. Only some of the hypers have a natural camera pan reminiscent of MvC3. It's jarring.

Because most characters animations assume there's a MvC3 style super flash.

Looking at Max's newest video, I realized why certain returning hypers look so bad: there's no transition when using them.

Frank's shopping cart and Hiryu's robot summons look so weird because there's no zoom effect with dark irising/vignetting between the shots, but they reuse the animations from 3 which expect that to be there causing them to remain static for far longer than they need to be and looking pretty bad.

Compare this Nemesis hyper in Marvel 3 with Infinite's. Nemesis actually starts off-center in the screen because the animation and camera assumes that that part of the animation is mostly obscured by the hyper flash with the zoom and the irising/vignetting. Compound this with the lack of certain hyper effects (the "page ripping" effect in certain swipes of Hypers) and weird conceptual omissions in others (Strange no longer astral projects when holding his enemy during the cinematic), returning hypers tend to look "off".

This will probably not get fixed as it seems the new character's hypers are made with the lack of transition in mind.

Just for fun, what is the weirdest nerf you think Capcom has given an existing character in this game? Chris' Magnum Reload? Cap's lack of a downward Shield Slash in the air?

Speaking of, does Chris have anything new? I know most returning characters have a new move or two, but Chris... doesn't? And Magnum Reload does not count as a new move, don't start.

Lack of 1 button specials aka assists. Nothing will ever be easier than pressing 1 button and making a special move happen. In an effort to dumb the game down, they raised the execution barrier

Weirdest nerf?

Has to be Chris's Flamethrower not doing chip anymore.

Spencer Bionic Arm and Armor Piercer visual nerfs need a mention too.

I would also add that Nova not having Shield Gravimetric Blasted is a weird nerf too.

I want to talk about Dante nerfs too but he is too different now without getting the bigger picture for him.

everything about chris fire grenade

from him throwing offscreen in a super shitty arc to the grenade/fire becoming inactive if chris gets hit to the grenade not exploding into a pool of fire if hit by a projectile while also being nullified by normals

He has some kind of shoulder tackle follow up from his prone position I think I saw it on some of Max footage.

Yep. Pressing HP while in Prone Position gives you this forward shoulder charge.

I did not know about this.

Fuck.

Really looking like I'll have to drop Chris. :(

I have faith in Chris. I think he might be legit. Grenades are definitely not wack. Grenade Launcher super may be one of the most useful for tagging behind in the entire game.

Conflicted on whether to go digital or physical. It's a game I'm gonna want on hand at all times, so digital would be nice. Went digital with SFV and I'm happy I did for that reason. I'll also be able to get it right at midnight digital.

But I'm going to get the deluxe edition, and because of that it makes me feel like I should go physical for the steel book. Plus MvC games often times get to be pretty rare, and having a physical copy is always nice in that regard.

A nice gimmick, but Chris looks like he'll suffer too much in the neutral. Meter is a less common resource here than it is in Ultimate.

I actually don't think you can think of neutral the same way in this game. The switch mechanic kind of changes everything.

Zero's lightning loops. Completely unfair. He's practically worthless now

After playing TvC recently again to prep a bit for MVCI I'm kind of baffled why they ditched his Level 3 "Dark Hold" in MVC3 and now in Infinite. It's such a cool level 3 and looks even more beautiful in Dolphin. Not that "Genmu Zero" was bad, but it wasn't nearly as cool as this...

whats your thoughts on Firebrand?
He looks improved in a lot of areas to compensate for the lack of unblockable. He is still going to be awkward as hell to control for new players because they didn't change his mobility too much.

The rest depends on more specific stuff like the frame data on aerial Bon Voyage, its hitbox, his dive kick, his jab which used to be the best jab in the game at 3 frame and great hitbox.

Here are the renders for Captain Marvel's PS4-exclusive costume & Sigma.

Also, here's an image of the segment of the story that was in the demo, except in the final version. I guess we don't have any Infinity Stones to start with, but I think that was already mentioned.

<whine incoming> Dang why they gotta take a shat on us PC buyers</whine off>

Well it makes sense I think obviously Sony been pumping monies into the fighting game scene. Maybe fighters not as niche as a lot of folks like to proclaim? Granted, I am too lazy to research this so I am most likely 100% wrong

Anyways I do plan to double dip once ps4 ver gets some price drops. I think IJ2 got reduced after 1-2 months

I never got tired of that Lvl3.

For what it's worth, I like his new Lvl1 from X7.

I do miss it. Probably too much overlap with Mags' Gravity Squeeze in MvC3 though. I mean it's not like there aren't 500 gigantic straight-forward beam supers but they probably want the Lvl.3's to at least be unique.

For those familiar with X, is his Lvl3 from MVCI done in any of the X games?

It's the Nova strike using the hidden armor from Megaman X4.

To elaborate: The Nova strike is a move that can be done when you complete the regular armor, but you use it once and takes a loooong time to recharge. However there is a secret different armor you can find in the game that allows you to do it infinitely, which is what you see in MVCI.

Weird, Haggar look pretty bad in the game but it might be players not doing well with him. Still, it just seems that he is going to struggle a lot in this game. I'm not going to jump into conclusion right now but I hope otherwise.

Are we certain that Firebrand lost his unblockable?

FINALLY, competent Dormammu play.
People said he doesn't have it and they kinda changed the properties on it as well.

I am pretty sure we would've seen the unblockable already given we have stuff like hypers into tag.

And as we can see in the video for all the Haggar complainers out there... you can still do panic Lariat into tag into combo off of Lariat.

Thanks for answering.

I only beat X4 with Zero, so I never got around to doing anything with X.

Zero seems even better than he was before, lightning loops aside (do we even know if they can be done in this game?).

Meanwhile, Haggar gets a barrel, and Arthur doesn't completely leave himself open to a combo once his almost necessary power up runs out. Great.

I'm worried about some of these guys. On one hand the tag system could benefit them in cool ways, on the other hand it may bury them even further.

Yeah, looks like he didn't have much of a chance to get an opening in some of those matches.
