an Illegal immigrant just set a sleeping woman on fire on a New York subway

Every single crime committed by an illegal was 100 percent preventable. It's fucking sickening what the traitors in charge have allowed to happen to this country and other nations in the West.

Rest in peace, poor lady.

I just thank God that nobody put this sweet misunderstood little angel in a chokehold before he could do that.

It was kinda worse than that. I saw the video and from what was shown, nobody tried to help her. People were just filming and a cop was just walking around doing fuck all. It was fucking horrible.

I didnt see the video and not going to. The most I saw was a screengrab that was blurred out. Didnt want to dig up any uncensored videos.

Why the hell was everyone and the cop just standing there? Fuck, youd think a cop would know what to do. I can understand people shellshocked or not wanting to add further flames (ie. smothering with your coat might create more flames), but wow.

It's one of the many reasons why the majority of Americans support mass deportation.
I don't pretend to have a grasp on murder statistics. I know that our perspective is unavoidably shaped by the current events we are made aware of, but we do see a pattern here and it's a preventable one. It only makes sense to attack the issue and take the border seriously.

You have to be Dahmer level of fucked in the head to do this. Regardless of "legality" status.
Will be fascinating to see if he is also going to be labeled a terrorist, if he's going to be escorted by an armada of police to his cell and subsequent comparison of the verdict between him and Luigi.

The perp posted a video complaining that she was bothering him, shortly before committed the act.

Struggling to find the video, now. Was shared last night, on X.

Either way, I won't say what I think his punishment should be, but it is definitive.

EDIT: Found it. I may be wrong about the context. He was drunk and complaining about how others perceive him.

damn.. she looked to have needed a walker as well. this really bothers me. sometimes, some people just need a harsher punishment that meets or exceeds what they do to others.

Don't care whether he's crazy or not or whatever excuses insane people have for him. This guy needs the death sentence or locked up forever along with every one of these insane evil shitheads that likes to stab random people or push people down on tracks and blame it on their insanity which doesn't matter since they are still a threat to the public.

This story makes me feel like I don't understand this world.

Why would someone do this?
Why did nobody (other than the guy fanning the flames) interact with or try to help her?
Why was she standing and immobile?

I have theories for each of those, but had to come up with them after the fact to rationalize what happened.

I may regret this if I am ever in a similar situation, but once the fire is full blaze and the flesh is melting off, maybe don't help me and instead shoot me immediately. I don't think I need to survive horrific burns.

After watching the video I got the same vibe I'd get at work when someone doesn't do their job because it involved something that wasn't in their job description. Oh fire? That's for the fire department to handle or discover.

My heart goes out to the individual set on fire, no one deserves that.
My mind is completely focused on how many more stories and how much worse will it get?
When anyone can come in from anywhere...

If I break into a house I get arrested but if I break into America they'll let me ride the subway?
Could be worse. If you lived in Canada and someone broke into your house, and you defended yourself, you'd be the perp and the robber would be the victim.

That's the same here in the UK, every few years a farmer shoots some robber that was "fleeing" from his property and gets in trouble.

I know its not the same, but when you compare everything else, its still better in the UK all things considered. People sometimes like to share photos of party goers passed out drunk on the streets of London, as some sort of proof of how trashy things are, but I think that actually reflects a city where people feel safe enough to do it. Frankly I don't think the majority of people living in the US fully understands the level of violence these people experience in their home countries.

What a way to go. May she rest in piece.

I'm not from the US, but since he is an illegal immigrant, this situation could have been avoided.

At the same time, I also dont think this should be used against all immigrants (it will tho, by some people).

I get the feeling it's because suing culture and lawsuit culture grips America more than most places. Step in and help? What if you do one slight thing wrong, whoops, you're now named in a case! Throw water over the burning person, whoops they said you caused shock and that's what actually killed her!

Same goes for the question above about saying "alleged" victim and perp, news channels don't have the balls to outright say anymore out of fear of a lawsuit for defamation, etc, so everything is alleged even if the video shows it clears as day!

I saw multiple posts on Tweet showing the name of the victim: a young woman called Amelia Carter. Turns out that was a hoax, the victim of this horrible crime is still unidentified.
