I realize how much I spent the year playing older games...
Hmmm it's a bit like the DLC being eligible for game of the year argument. But what happens when the game is completed and released later to a wider audience? Wouldn't it be better for it to be eligible then instead of when it's in a testing phase and still being developed? You could still vote for it you'd just have to wait thoIs it planned to fix the absence of early access games like Selaco or PoE2?
As far as I'm concerned the ea release of a game counts as an actual release.

Best first hour of gameplay | Black Myth: Wukong |
Just watched a few videos. Looks cool - reminds me of Deus Ex a bit but faster and more doomy actionSelaco was my best game of the year and I can't vote for it. It's not a DLC. I've done my playthrough, I'll likely wont play it next year.
First six games I looked up aren't even on the list.
We can add them. What are they?
You're sort of reminds me of the Cantors and other dark humans and creatures from the labyrinth.
Just realized maybe Early Access games don't count. Not sure I'd even vote for some of them, to be honest. Just looked up some of the games I enjoyed this year. Already forgot the sixth game, still half asleep lol.

Early access is how most of us PC gamers escape from the AAA slop and support real devs making real games, it's a travesty that gaf doesn't officially recognize its value.
But I won't complain anymore, and just ignore gaf goty threads from now on. Have fun I guess.
I think your take is too extreme but I'm glad you got to talk about the game you loved which is what makes me love the goty threads. will def check it outIt's amazing, easily the best PC game of the year. In terms of gameplay it's the lovechild of FEAR and Half Life. Absolute cinema.

just skimmed thru some videos... bullet hell shooting while exploring a top down world eh? How do they keep it fresh? Lots of weapon customization?New vote added:
Best Indie game - Minishoot Adventures
Zelda A Link to the Past X twin stick shmup. It’s up there at the top 5 for the year for me. Controls like dream, butter smooth, unique, awesome. Don’t miss out on this game! It’s phenomenal!
Yeah you upgrade your ship and get new moves, dodge, boost, slow down, power shot and bomb and so on. And there is kind of an XP system where leveling up gives you the choice to place points to further customize to have higher fire rate or range or higher damage. Then it’s classic Zelda with buttons to press and breakable walls hiding secrets finding keys and boss keys and lighting torches to open doors.just skimmed thru some videos... bullet hell shooting while exploring a top down world eh? Sitting at overwhelmingly positive and 97% on Steam now. Deserved!
There is even some auto aim thing for those not used to twin-stick shooting. But for those who like those games it is a dream to play, aiming is snappy and direct and it’s absolute butter smooth in movement and there is also a slight glide and acceleration making it feel super slick.

Funny you mention both of these games. I'm playing and enjoying the hell out of Darktide, but not sure if Rogue Trader would be up my alley. Yakuza games look fun, but catching up to that series is so daunting to look atI voted for Infinite Wealth at the end…While I liked a lot of games this last year, looking back it was probably the most fun I’ve had (it’s just it came out so early you barely remember it came out that year by the end of the year).
…If DLC counted it would be Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader: Void Shadows.
The Like a Dragon games are a spin-off so you don’t really have to have played the others, while you’ll definitely miss some references you can still easily get by without knowing about the other games.Funny you mention both of these games.
