I'll see. I liked the gameplay footage but unless it is excellent, I'm not making the time to play it. I have way too much other stuff to play and with Baldur's Gate 3 cross play and new subclasses coming around that time, I am going to be busy playing games that I know are superb.

Better question to ask is “would you pay for Avowed”. A lot of folks with “Yes” got GamePass so it doesn’t take much to download and try it out.

Edit: Or rent from GameFly if that’s still around, as a rental is a cheap way to try the game. I think Topher does that as an example.

Edit 2: Personally I am not planning to play it at least in the near future as it looks pretty mid and I very much disliked Outer Worlds. But if I sub for GamePass month to try something else, might give it a shot as well.

Yeah, I only use these services to save money. To the question, would I pay for Avowed. Depends. If the game comes out and is widely regarded as a top notch RPG then yeah, I'd buy it. What we know about the controversial aspects of the game so far, just isn't enough for me to boycott it.

Folks who play the game should not be treated like pariahs. I know you are not saying that, but threads like this tend to veer in that direction at times.

I firmly believe there is nothing wrong with deciding to play a game like Avowed despite the controversy. That's my opinion on it anyway.

- characters are not attractive to me ( yes , its just personal taste )
- i already made up my mind to support State of Decay 3 even if it has DEI , the $ profits still goes back to microsoft

I bought Grounded and was quite happy with everything even though there is DEI , the game is really fun and i like the character

Going forward , the game Grounded should be my last game purchase from Obsidian Entertainment
