It's literally a list of the games presented and the kind of trailer they had. When the games come out they will be playable on their respective systems so idk why any of this matters besides being able to check mark a win for your respective sides of the console wars. Lol fucking hell.
That's why it's marked as in-game trailer in OP. However, DF confirmed typical artifacts of real-time rendering, plus HZD and ShadowFall both looked like they did at their reveal. Some of you guys are really going to be disappointed if you think this is what Horizon 2 gameplay will look like;![]()
Really I think that those kinds of list are fairly pointless, neither company is going to have substantially fewer games than the other.Xbox fans, stop counting 3rd party games and last gen stuff as valid list wars options. You just making your case look worse. 'sea of thieves optimised...' lol
Op list is right on the money. You guys have shitshow for next gen. Halo is lost cause. There is no need to be upset.
But dam those memes are entertaining.

Still, I didn't imply either company is faking the quality of their games, and I'd appreciate if you did the same
Look at my disclaimer. My point was that it's - at best - an in-engine trailer.
The real point here is how upset YOU will be when Horizon looks just like that trailer, and Halo looks just like the shit they showed. My point was that it's - at best - an in-engine trailer.

An in-engine trailer I considered stuff that did not feature what are likely in-game scenarios.
NBA 2K21 featured just one player's close-ups, and was also labelled as "in-engine" by 2K on YT.
Forza MotorSport ran at 30fps, while the final release will be at 60, and it was also labelled in-engine by Spencer himself.
By comparison, Horizon featured multiple NPCs, large vistas, and robots that you are likely to see in the final game.
Could everything still be faked? Sorry, but until you bring something more substantial than "it looks very beautiful", your concerns have no basis, and just look like jealous rambling.
EDIT: To add, my list still holds even if Forbidden West is "faked". If in one year's time the game looks far worse, you can point to my list to show that the game had been shown deceitfully, and the trailer wasn't representative.
Similarly, both past Infinite trailers I would have marked as "in-game trailers", but they look miles better than the final product, which obviously people didn't appreciate.
The real point here is how upset YOU will be when Horizon looks just like that trailer, and Halo looks just like the shit they showed.
There is no need to be upset.
The trailer is available for free on YT. If you feel particular shots are rendered differently and are not to be trusted, you are free to show them to everyone. What about the underwater shot isn't believable? It's the same level of detail present throughout. The Horizon-trailer was superbly crafted and mixed between what looked like gameplay (the scene where she's riding through a landscape) and what looked like either in-engine or pre-rendered (the scene from where the screenshot is taken). The trailer was deliberately made as such, and I absolutely understand why Sony did it - look at the reactions the trailer got. I don't doubt that it'll look better than Halo, but it's not going to look like that.
Dismiss it as "jealous rambling" if you want. That doesn't make your argument look better.

Until then, "looks too good to be real" is the best praise you could give it.
"It's just too good to be real" again? You're going to bring up unrepresentative hermit crabs next?I literally posted an example earlier.
"It's just too good to be real" again? You're going to bring up unrepresentative hermit crabs next?
It really isn't, given the far increased level of detail in the distance, as well as much more complex weather simulation. The crabs aren't going to look like that in real-time gameplay either. I believe this is gameplay footage:

And while stunning, it's far from the same level as the underwater shot or the crabs.
We are not so sure about that. Halo Infinite somehow couldn't run its demo on a Series X in the showcase, for reasons entirely unknown to us. Your assumption that the game would be playable on Series X at launch is actually not assured. When the games come out they will be playable on their respective systems so idk why any of this matters besides being able to check mark a win for your respective sides of the console wars. Lol fucking hell.

Once again, "this game looks unbelievable!". Are you just doing stealth PS5 marketing?
No please, post more amazing Horizon screenshots while complaining it looks too good, it was bringing some much needed comedySeems like I was confusing you with someone mature. Enjoy your day. Hope you won't be too disappointed when reality hits you.

Do you take requests? Can you do Ratchet next?Thank you for proving my point.
This stood out to me at the time as well - it means absolutely nothing, unfortunately. I assume that a scripted scene, even if it is in-engine real-time rendering, can be much higher quality than something which would actually be in a finished product. It says "All game footage you are about to see from this point forward in the show has been captured from Playstation 5 systems".
That statement is cleverly designed to appear meaningful but it's actually meaningless. You could even load a video file and have the PS5 play it and it would fit that statement. That's how meaningless it is.
The difference here is that Sony thus far had not lied. While MS DID lie about Halo Infinite being built for Series X.This stood out to me at the time as well - it means absolutely nothing, unfortunately. I assume that a scripted scene, even if it is in-engine real-time rendering, can be much higher quality than something which would actually be in a finished product.
We've seen this so many times, and yet people take it all at face value.
Just having a bit of a laugh.Tulipanzo
Just leave people to believe whatever they want to believe. If they want to delude themselves into thinking the conferences were equivalent then let them. If they want to believe everything at Sony's conference was CG then let them.
It's almost like they've learnt nothing from the last 3-4 years, nevermind the last week.
Don't waste your energy man, the summary in the OP is damning enough.
That is objectively incorrect, just by looking at the charts.Objectively, only HZFW has that next gen wow factor.
The other games shown in both shows are not much different.
It was because of Halo Infinite that got things blown out of proportion.
Speaking of lies, one of the reasons I'm so annoyed with how Microsoft has handled the Xbox division is the years of bullshitting that has gone on whenever they have nothing to show and start getting desperate. The difference here is that Sony thus far had not lied. While MS DID lie about Halo Infinite being built for Series X.
Your distrust of Sony is unfounded, and should be redirected at their competitor who had only recently being caught with lies.

Unconfirmed, but Digital Foundry thinks the same. But I don't think one in-engine shot is enough to move it out of the CGI trailer classification. The last bit of Avowed looked like its was in-engine rather than CGI to me, but who knows
Scalebound was funded by Microsoft (first-party game). Deep Down and Silent Hills were funded by Capcom and Konami (third-party games). That's the difference.Scalebound was a platinum game. It doesn't matter. Its an exclusive game that didn't make it. There was also thge sucker punch game that had some footage leaked that was cancelled. Every killzone gets downgraded.
To clarify on those three.A lot of the games on this chart are categorized wrong.
Stray is in-engine, but we haven't seen any real gameplay
State of Decay 3's trailer is confirmed CGI as well.
Hellblade 2 had an in-engine trailer (UE5), though there is skepticism if it's a target render.
I feel that this is missing the forest for the trees.Scalebound was a platinum game. It doesn't matter. Its an exclusive game that didn't make it. There was also thge sucker punch game that had some footage leaked that was cancelled. Every killzone gets downgraded.
Might as well add this one to the list.
That boggles my mind.I don’t understand how Phil said that he felt confident after watching Sony’s reveal.
That boggles my mind.
MS is also not saying that their console is the most powerful anymore, they moved on to "the most consistent performing console" or something along those lines.
I really wonder what is going on, wjy not show something... Anything on the new console.
Sony just catched up to the normal pace of a new console release cycle (which is good). This is MS that are acting like a three years old that refuses to go to the toilet, when it's definitely time to go, they dance around, say they want to do this that and the other thing.... Then they shit in their pants.A bit late, plus it wasn't really at either conference.
Still, once again more things running on PS5, which I think is very positive.
Yeh i wonder, a game thats cost over 100m, 4-5years dev time, and now months from console release, 2 original dves have been brought back to revive its corpse and try and give ms fans some hope
I wonder why they're not showing anything on the console......?
You'd have thought they could at least show some gameplay of Forza though. Isn't that meant to be out next year? How can they have nothing to show?
It's really weird.
Very positive? The consoles will be in our hands in like 2 months and we still have people trying to pretend that the series x is somehow all an elaborate hoax that doesn’t actually exist lol. Never mind the fact that devs are making games for it on their dev kits, oh no, they’re all in on it.A bit late, plus it wasn't really at either conference.
Still, once again more things running on PS5, which I think is very positive.
Deep down and the wizard game being shown at the ps4 show and Never coming outDeep down and the wizard game being shown at the ps4 show and Never coming out
Ghosts graphics downgrade
last of us 2 graphics downgrade
Every killzone graphics downgrade.
Silent hills from kojima never comes out
He said before the gameplay, after the guy speaks... You need to be wilfully ignoring it.Interesting. I went to check the stream and they go from GT7 trailer, to Ratchet trailer, to a short speech from someone at Insomniac (who does NOT mention wether the footage is in-game, in-engine or whatever) to some more footage. I might have missed so please kindly provide a timestamp for the statement.
He said before the gameplay, after the guy speaks... You need to be wilfully ignoring it.
Watch the whole thing again.
Why are u being obtuse on purpose ? Accept u made a mistake and move on .Lol necroing a month old post.
Give me the timestamp in the video where they say it. I already went through that and no one could provide it since they don't use the word gameplay.
So, I'm waiting.
I'm not your secretary, I just looked again to be sure it's there, they definitely claim every game runs on ps5 (except gta 5).Lol necroing a month old post.

This, beside being massively less readable than mine, has 0 info on PS5 and is as such pretty useless.
It's a neverending list of barely known stuff, a whole bunch of which is also coming to other platforms. Thanks, but no.
It also lists Gears Tactics as iconic, which, lol
