Pre-orders for the Switch 2 are now available at various retailers.

Are you going to pre-order it, and if so why?

I have pre-ordered it (from Amazon), the main reason being Mario Kart obviously. It looks fantastic. Donkey Kong seems to be pretty fun too, even though I miss the old DK design.
I also hope the Xenoblade games can receive an upgrade patch down the line. The combo PC + Nintendo has never let me down so I'm going to keep trucking along with that.

Already did.

Just did but i'm kind of regretting it.

I hope like the first Switch i'm able to sell it for the same amount a few weeks in if I don't want it any longer.

But then it seems demand is a lot lower for this so who knows.

A bit difficult for me to preorder but as soon as I can buy one I will, which will probably be on the first week of June.

Nope, not interested at all this time.

I remember how magically hyped I was for the original Switch. I reserved one at Saturn to pick it up myself, because I didn't want to wait for the Amazon delivery on the release day.

Not even a fragment of that hype is there for the Switch 2. Literally nothing that they showed in the direct interests me. I don't care about Mario Kart, I've played both big Zeldas to death on the original Switch, so I could puke if I had to replay BotW or TotK again, even the "improved" version. And I'm not paying lots of money for some shitty third party ports. For that, I have a Steam Deck.

I see myself getting the Switch 2 in 3-4 years, when at least one big new Zelda game and one new 3D Super Mario game has been released.

Overnight it came out that most of the titles Nintendo is releasing will be $80, not just Mario Kart like we first thought. Literally BOTW Switch 2 Edition is just a Switch 1 BOTW cart and an upgrade code.... For $80. Mario Party Jamboree and Kirby Switch 2 editions are $80.

I know inflation is a thing, but I don't give a shit. You can't jump game prices by $20 from one gen to the next. The sticker shock is too much. Will it still sell? Idk, kids don't care how much something costs.

Yeah, this really killed my enthusiasm. I might just keep the money for another handheld PC instead. Not sure yet ...

Nah. Donkey Kong looks awesome, but I've reached a point in my life where I just don't care.
I can see myself buying it years from now to play with my grandkids.

Already have, I know I'll more than break even on it just with my commute.

A shame Hyrule Warriors is only out in the winter but I'll be fine until then.

Also on the fence but leaning towards the mariocart bundle. Mostly for the bump to the existing library. Nintendo is nudging us to their 3-pack vouchers which makes their prices more reasonable.

Not feeling the urgency though and might just wait and see how everything plays out. Especially since I'm for sure am getting the $1200 Deckard and the steamdeck is ready for an upgrade as well.

Yes

Mario Kart World and Metroid Prime 4 Beyond Switch 2 Edition mainly.

But I'm also super tired of the Switch (1) hardware and games running like crap.
Mario Kart world and Zelda running half decent is reason enough for me. Plus I've had my Switch since launch, time to retire that sucker.

I was going to but talked myself out of it. I didn't get switch 1 until 2 years ago and I've only played 2 games ha, just think handhelds aren't for these old hands anymore.

My son will probably want one when he's a year or 2 older so will dive in then probably with him

I will give it a half ass effort. Maybe 3 F5 refreshes. If I get one, I get one. If I do not, I am good with that.

I'm good, until there's a Fire Emblem as good as three houses or a way to play Xenoblade in 4K I can live without this. I'm going to catch up on my PS5 backlog, I still have Metaphor and FF7 Rebirth to play.

Nope it's about almost 700 dollars Canadian after taxes with no game. The Mario Kart bundle puts it way over. Yea I'm good. I like Mario put not enough to pay that at launch.

Definite no for me. I've barely used the last one, and the game prices are a big problem for me. I can't think of any game I'd pay $80 for, and Nintendo never drop the price... I'm all in with the PC versions for handheld gaming now. Love my Ally X.
