I "registered my interest" in preordering on Nintendo's website, so we'll see if they ever email me. If not, I'll probably just wait and try to chase it down when it releases.

Negative. At these prices and line up of games, I would rather put that money towards either a Steamdeck or Legion Go. WAY more bang for the buck.

I waited 24 hours in line for the Wii. Skipped the Wii U. I picked up a Switch day 1 with no line. I'm skipping the Switch 2.

Don't you have to have 50+ Switch game hours and Switch online too?

Not saying you don't have either of those, but was it just register on the site or did it come with those caveats too?

I have both, but I don't think you need both to register on the website. They just impact where Nintendo places you in the pre-order queue, with people who meet the criteria getting priority placement.

Yes. I registered immediately on Nintendos site. I might goto GameStop next Wednesday and do a preorder in store. I don't trust these bum delivery drivers.

Yes. I'm interested how well it will play my Switch games and how much it will enhance the experience.
May go for the MK bundle, if stand-alone isn't available. Not buying anything extra - will use my Switch Pro controller for now.

Got one at 439€. Switch has become my main console anyway, so moving on to Switch 2 was guaranteed for me.

Obviously, Switch is my main console and Nintendo releases are essential. Will more than make up it's price tag in playtime within the first year.

Yes. MK, DK and Metroid this year. There will probably be something else big around holidays. The fact that it will play my Switch backlog along with those games means I will get a decent amount of playtime out of it this year. It will be a good pickup for me.

I've been on the fence about it, but I've settled on "Yes". I think the new hardware is awesome and has really given me everything I wanted (4k/60fps/HDR, hall effect sticks, larger Joycons), and the new games look amazing (Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong: Bonanza, Metroid Prime 4).

The game prices are fucking stupid but I'm thinking I'm just going to go back to buying physical games when buying Switch stuff so that I can resell them down the line; Nintendo games lose like zero value over time as well so at least the resell value will be there.

So the official date to pre order is the 8th? So wtf are all the UK stores doing it now!
Got one from very I think. But Argos sold out. Smyths sold out. Did have one with shopto in Jan but guess what I wasn't quick enough eh.

I think Nintendo sent out stock allocations and Argos jumped the gun so everyone else followed.

I might pre-order MKW bundle from somewhere I can easily cancel if that's possible.

I really want to see if it improves Switch 1 games like run them in Desktop mode, etc. And I want to see improvements in some of the older games.

If the improvements in both are mediocre, will cancel.

Nope, I'm currently in the 'might not get it at all' camp. The €90 price tag for the tentpole games and also for the pro Controller to a lesser extend, made me extremely lukewarm towards the Switch 2.

I have a nintendo online account many years old consistently subscribed and many hundreds of hours of gameplay so they should be sending me a buy offer since I signed up, I guess in may?.... . I own 3 switch OLEDs and a base switch (kids and my own upgrade to the OLED). I will be pre ordering this.... in order to scalp it to an idiot and use it for something like building a fence or buying a cool snake... and I'll come back to the switch 2 when they get their shit together (more appealing (to me) Platform exclusives, maybe a price drop, OLED screen, better battery life or at least SOME of those things).

The Switch is my favorite game console of all time. I have about 350 physical games, and a few hundred digital games that will all seemingly be backwards compatible (I think I might have one or two games from "the list" of stuff that currently isn't working). Larger / better / higher resolution screen is a big deal to me, as I have spent at least 99% of my time on the Switch using handheld mode.

So it seems like a pretty good buy for me, personally, as I'll be able to bring across my existing game collection while also gaining access to the newest games going forward. I'll be looking around to hopefully score a pre-order.

If I could, I would, but I don't know any trusted brand in Colombia that will bring it day 1 or week 1 at least

No, as my sister will probably get it for me in the UK (did it with the Switch 1 as it is cheaper then in my country), unless I find something a lot cheaper in some of the EU contries, but I will get it it as soon as possible. I have already decided to get the pro controller with it and Mario Kart and DK, but then I will stop and I will use it to complete my Switch 1 games I have not completed/played yet as my Switch 1 was destroyed in a fire. I hope that upgrading Switch 1 games to Switch 2 will not mess up with the save file.
One thing I am quite sure of is that I will be using it for first party and exclusives only and gamepass/steam/epic for the other games as the Switch 2 games do seem to be quite expensive, so less third party digital games now unless on somereally good sale.

It's tempting for MK at a lower price, but I'll likely wait. I want to see what other announcements happen, and The Duskbloods isn't until 2026.

Would rather keep saving for a new GPU and or a PS5 Pro instead.

Yes, but only because of the Mario Kart bundle, which technically allows me to avoid paying $80 for the game you see.

I'm weak. -_-

The normal SKU got sold out instantly, but I managed to snag the Mario Kart World one.

I don't really want a digital version of the game, but I guess I'll have to settle for that.

Managed to get one with £20 deposit at Smyths here in the UK, seemed easy enough. Did go for the MK bundle as I wanted the game anyway

No, sadly. I was super hyped prior to the Direct. I was going to try and buy 3 as gifts. Now it is zero. Zero hype, zero purchases.

TO be clear, I have no issue with the system price, or even the $80 game price honestly. Provided, Nintendo starts being transparent about everything. Their non-answers seem shady and an embarrassment.

I personally don't care if the games are $100. But if that is the case, then a few things must happen.

1.) The game must be complete on the cart at launch.
2.) NO microtransactions, season passes, or other bulls#$& for paid games. I am looking at 2k and EA!
3.) Games must be held until all bugs are found, no more Pokémon Scarlet & Violet situation. If the developer misses the holiday, that is on them.
4.) If there is DLC, and the game is $100, DLC is free.
5.) Finally we OWN the physical or digital and we can do with it what we like, no DRM.

I think if companies agreed to this, I think people would pay the $80-$100 without question. They would be upset, but they would understand.

Unfortunately though your intentions are good and noble

Companies are not gonna do this like ever
