Assassin’s Creed Shadows being added to Game Pass Ultimate Library Streaming

Buy and pay us for Game Pass Ultimate and stream your own game

Then explain why allowing someone to access a game they bought however they want is bad instead of shitposting.
Because it's a pointless feature that basically no one will use. People aren't buying Assassin's Creed Shadows on their Xbox to stream it.

This is great. People will think it is on gamepass and not buy it.

Assassin's Creed Shadows will be on Gamepass Ultimate(streaming library) Day 1. Day and Date.

Just having this out there will cost sales.

People thinking of buying a Ubisoft game at full price are already on the fence, adding it to gamepass(streaming library) day 1 is just enough FUD to make them decide against it. Every move Ubisoft does it dumb. Nobody wants to pay full price for a game someone else gets for free and 99% of people don't know there is a difference between Gamepass Ultimate(streaming library) Day 1 and Gamepass Ultimate Day 1.

If even for 1 split second you thought this meant that Shadows was coming day and date to gamepass ultimate, then this will cost sales of the game.

Ubisoft+ and streaming your owned games over xcloud aren't the same thing.
I'm wondering if having Ubisoft+ will let you stream it. Having Gamepass Utimate and paying $15 to pay the game for a month is cheaper than buying it outright.

Ubisoft also has their deal with Amazon so you can stream it day one on Luna if you bought it and have Prime.

Because the option exists to stream AC shadows on other devices if you're away from your console. Which can happen when you step out.
Duh

Because fuck streaming and Xbox's attempts to normalize it with their user base.
It will win out on its own merits. I prefer downloading games and playing locally, but there are times when streaming is fine. If it isn't hurting you I don't understand why you get so upset about it?

Wait a minute

I buy the game, then, already paying for GamePass, I'm allowed to stream play?

That's the idea.

Till last year you could only stream game pass games on xcloud, they've started adding owned library games to xcloud too, not the entire libraries, but there's a curated list, this is just the latest addition.

This is part of Xbox's broader strategy of pushing their users to cloud streaming, something I fully reject and will be critical of.

Do you understand how bad the servers would get hammered if anyone could just buy the game then stream it on any device without a subscription?
If they want Cloud streaming to be a viable option in the future, they'll need to figure this part out.

You guys don't own the game when you buy a digital users license.
But probably I just don't get what this is about because I've lost track of subscriptions and streaming services

The article you quoted is someone at Ubisoft talking about Ubisoft+, their sub where all new games launch on day 1.

This topic is about being able to stream the game if you buy it digitally on Xbox over Xcloud. You've already bought the game, this is adding the option to be able to stream it if you're not on your console.

Okay, so you spend money on a game and can play it natively or stream it - got it. Nevertheless it never is "your own game".

Wait, so a company can offer a service I don't care about, and it won't affect me at all because I'm not forced to use it & I can still complain about it anyway and rake in likes from people who share my pointless outrage?

The problem is that Microsoft is allowing you to stream part of your library to another device that you own - like your phone. This is an outrage!
It would be far more acceptable for them to sell a streaming device for like $200 and make you stream on that.

i didn't mean being able to play the game for the free, but having the game accessible to maximize "engagement" (sales)
But the audience is still basically the same with the perk of being able to stream your game from the cloud instead of from your home console.

did they fix their shit streaming yet, its worst tech of the bunch by far.
this will be the worst way to play the game, slightly behind series s

It's the #1 and #3 pre-orders on US PSN (premium is #1, normal is #3 after MLB 25). Those hoping for a flop will be coping most likely.

As critical as I have been on Ubisoft of this game, I am actually very excited to play it AND to be proven wrong if it ends up being pretty good. There are things I will not get over, like the forced DEI in an already DEI-heavy, but at the same time, I think that this game looks damn good and it's been an area I want Assassin's Creed to go for a long time. So, if it's anything like Odyssey, but in Japan, I will be very happy.

Time.
The game being played longer, when for some reason people need to play while taking a shit.

im not saying it's going to work tho
Your original comment was about them being "Desperate for people to play it"

You do understand that you can play your games while on the toilet without the cloud right?

but the news is about the game being added to GP Library Streaming. which implies cloud gaming, right?

for some reason I didn't even made the connection about playing the game for free. (other wise I would have comment about Ubisoft loosing revenue, and we all know about their financial situation)

i was thinking more about about desperate for people to play the game because their PR/Marketing has been shit

This is similar to the game not requiring Ubisoft Connect when buying it on Steam. to act all consumer friendly and give players more "value" or whatever.

Library streaming launched with most of the major Ubi games from the last couple of years.

So where was this concern about sales when Kcd2 did the same thing. 🤔
Anyway, xbplay app on steam gets some heavy playtime on my steamdeck mainly due to xcloud being pretty good that I can stream EAFC24 or continue any of my gamepass games (pc or consoles) save on it.
