How long before I get back to Yasuke. I've been exploring with Naoe, I've just met Mitsubishi and now I have to go the second region to meet his son.
Not sure if you're locked as Naoe but open the inventory menu and check if you can switch to Yasuke.
The prompt is just underneath the character.

Happily surprised that I can take the clothes off(Hide gear) and see the underwear, but disappointed that Naoe is even more flat than me! There is just...........nothing there.

So I don't have to play as Yasuke ever again after the opening 15 mins right? If so I might play for a bit longer with Naoe not sure if I will finish the game. 15 hours in, well at least the graphics are technically good. If only they made the game more fun/responsive and have actual good bosses battles. And I don't want "the guide" character to come out breaking the immersion anymore.

I know it's my fault for deviating but just need to know how close relative to the main quest line

Once both characters are together in the story, you can choose any time to switch to them from either the inventory menu (hold X on Xbox or Square on PS) or whenever you're fast traveling anywhere, you'll get the prompt to fast travel as your current character or switch character.

Man...Yasuke is a fucking beast. I was playing with Naoe but two bosses inside a castle killed me. I went out if the castle and called Yasuke, went in and obliterated those two guys. When you start unlocking skills and combat movements the combat becomes very addictive

Seriously people crying about this game are missing out

The reason they are skipping it and judging it without playing it makes me happy that they are missing out. Fuck em.

Missed my sesh last night because I was fiddling with the OLED

Gonna plunge back in tonight and actually want to push forward a bit. The contracts get addicting though man, especially when they're close by

At least for those Animus challenges they seem to place them on the other end of the map lol

This was hilarious. I was playing as Yasuke hunting down some Ronin scum, and the game gave me the option to take on 3 of them at the same time. i was like Im the Terminator. Lets do it.

I get there and immediately Spartan kick one dude before his slow mo introduction, hilarity ensues.

Do you guys play with English or Japanese + Portuguese voice overs?

I really want to go with the latter but man it sucks how I have no idea what civilians are talking about. Why the hell are there no small subs for those?

You don't miss the lack of NPC chatter subtitles? In some of these older Ubi games like Raven Shield and Rogue Spear enemies had some funny chatter always. Ima try it in English tomorrow, see how much interesting chatter I'm really missing, or not.

I am actually liking this game. It feels harder and I like the map better. It also has very satisfying combat. Graphically it also looks fantastic.

Story is decent, nothing to write home about. Although switching to Japanese makes all the difference for immersion.

Bro the ubislop NPC chatter has been shite since Conviction on the 360. It ainā€™t worth the agg, just put it on Japanese.

Yeah I was willing to give it a shot if the English VO aren't cringe as fuck, but I bet they are, right? Take RDR2 for example, I'd hate to miss out on NPC chatter there.

What outlet said that yasuke wasn't fun to play? His moveset is awesome, I absolutely am loving the different feel of combat and play style with both characters something I didn't expect... But yasuke is a fucking truck, dude can walk in thru the gates and just kick everyone's shit in, it's quite satisfying

I started it today and it is so much better than Valhalla.

This game with Naoe is basically Tenchu and I am loving it so far.

Stealth is great, the graphics are great and everything has been great so far, minus the combat which is quite simple, but still looks great and is entertaining.

Combat-wise the game falls short to Rise of The Ronin, Way of The Samurai and Ghost of Tsushima, but on the stealth side it is everything I wanted from a modern Shinobido or Tenchu games.

It's been so long since I liked an Ubisoft game this much. The Naoe gameplay got me hooked and the story ain't bad for me, since I already know about most historical characters I am enjoying the different takes on them a lot.

Yasuke gameplay is kinda too easy and since the combat isn't great, I am playing more with Naoe.

Overall, I think Yasuke so far feels like a missed opportunity, they should have made his combat gameplay different than a traditional samurai, they should have made him fight more like a warrior from whatever place they choose him to be, this way they could justify him being overpowered simply because his style of fighting is unpredictable to the samurais.

Also the game is extremely pretty and runs quite well on the base ps5.

This is the kinda shit that makes the game a fucking blast. And you feel like such a pro. The game has way more of a Splinter Cell vibe with the stealth when you know what youā€™re doing. The stealth in this series has never been this good and satisfying.
Yep. I wish we had more Sam-like moves and different ways to assassinate or knock down enemies in houses, cuz not all of them have a thing to grapple onto on the сeiling and I can see Naoe using stuff at the сeIling to hold onto. Come to think of it, we don't even have non-lethal takedowns from above at all, only ground ones.

This is the one I just bumped in to on a dock and shanked when I wasn't even looking for him, haha.
The thing is, for me he was in a different place. Speakin' of bumping on the quest objectives. If you're not rushing the game and just exploring everything, you don't even need to look at the quest board for some objectives cuz you'll naturally bump into them.

yasuke best ac combat ever
Eh, no, I don't think I agree with this.

Yasuke is basically baby ass baby mode for those who hate or can't do stealth and when it comes to combat in comparison to Naoe. I haven't got him yet, but everything I've seen of him is just... turn your brain off and just move forward blindfolded. The true meat of the ACS combat (and stealth) lies with Naoe and the whole game's combat and stealth was built around her. Naoe has way more and better combat options, where as Yakuse simply has more power cuz he's a giant dude.

Speakin' of Naoe. Who's played around with Kusarigama? It's very effective crowd control weapon... but only against bandits. God forbid you'll go against multiple enemies with spears while using it like monks (let alone armored samurai), they will destroy your ass with long ass combos and will attack you all at once! And so here's where my problem with this weapon lies - much more effective crowd control skills are locked behind lvl 2 and 3 skill trees, so you can't effectively crowd control enemies with spears, stagger them and knock them far away from you, cuz where you're using Kusarigama they're your worst enemies.

I think they should've swapped the first active skill you can unlock in Kusarigama skill tree with the crown control one, cuz first and foremost Kusarigama is a crown control weapon and it'll take you long ass time to unlock lvl 2 and 3 skills (unless you just rush through the game that is). I mean, Naoe's combat is a lot more flexible and has a lot more options, so you can just switch to a more powerful katana, but... it can't crown control and switchin' weapons during combat can be a bit iffy sometimes. Anyway, how's your experience with Kusarigama, folks? You can also customise it just like katana and tanto (I haven't used tanto yet, so there's also this weapon I'll be testing at some point as well):messenger_relieved:

P.S. I wish we could deflect arrows and kunai with katana as well as with Kusarigama's spinning skills...:messenger_pensive:

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
Okay I didn't get to play too much of it, but enough to get the feel of it.
First things first the graphics are great
Really like what I'm seeing here although it does remind me of a current gen Ghost.
Gameplay is definitely improved and I like the combat so far and stealth is majorly improved as well as the parkour
Voice acting is all over the place and so are the facial animations, Yasuke stands out like a sore thumb sometimes.
I like playing as him though but he feels like he is completely from a different game
but Naoe is where it's at, loved playing as her
Will post more when I've played more, but Okay so far..

Feels like Iā€™ve been playing a tutorial for three hours. The onboarding process for these games becomes more daunting every year. So much to introduce before it feels like youā€™ve got your teeth sunk into anything.

After going back and forth between Balanced and Performance on PS5 Pro, I've decided to go with Balanced.

At 40fps, the game plays smooth enough, but draw-distance in Balanced is superior to Performance.
It'd be doing the game a disservice to sacrifice the draw-distance, imo.

Also, am I the only one who like to just run everywhere instead of riding the horse, just to soak in the scenery?
Feels like such a waste to ride horse, or fast-travel (unless I'm limited on time in rl).

Chapter 3. Level 58 at around 100 hours playtime. Just got a beast of a legendary bleed katana for Naoe, it's in a chest on a random ship. She's my go to for exploring while Yasuke remains the god mode caste cleaner. This game is such a WIN.

So FOMO got the better of me and I bought the game yesterday. After completing the prologue and a few other bits and bobs (one being a kind of playable memory), I have to say that I am genuinely stunned by how much I am enjoying it.

Iā€™ll probably get negged for this, but Iā€™m playing using quality mode on the Pro. The visuals are too good in QM to miss, at least until the 60fps mode gets a PSSR update. Tbh, the QM runs really well, so it isnā€™t bothering me at all and Iā€™m too busy taking in all the glorious vistas.

So yeah, much better than I expected.
