Assassin's Creed Shadows officially has surpassed the launches of AC Origins and AC Odyssey according to UbiSoft

It is not, there's trainers to modify xp rates and such already.
Ubisoft could certainly detect and ban those people, it'd be funny if they did for sure, imagine the shitstorm that would go their way.

I also used trainers for Origins and Odyssey, I always loved the power trip of earlier AC games, them taking that away in these new ones pissed me off. Valhalla with the guaranteed assassination option gave me an out at least so I'd just rush most targets using stealth, kill them and then get the fuck out.
This one supposedly has the option for assassinations.

This option is what's getting me to buy this by the time the PSSR patch comes into play.

There are people who share accounts for all the major games, why would this be a significant factor for this specific game?

so why new game like black myth wukong, monster hunter wild, stellar blade... can share their number, but 18 year old juggernaut like AC can't, you also said this "Enthusiast forums have never really understood how big of a brand AC is", but trust me, we all know, someone here ever call AC series is one of 5 biggest game series in video game until now

while player engagement look impress, it would look impress if this game is an MMO, not single player game, people did share their account in these game too, the account sharing business even bloom in wukong game when someone in my country discover that they can buy game from hongkong PSN store with half of price as US store, still doesn't cloud its sale success

Interesting that you're now calling the 500 orientations "idiocy". Funny that, how very progressive of you.

Aw, precious, but when I say idiocy I mean the stuff you posted, nothing more. Your attempt at a ludicrous straw man was idiocy. @ me if you need any more help little buddy.

Probably been said in one of the earlier posts, but Odyssey and Origins was all sales, while Shadows gets a lot of players from Ubisoft +. If it sold more they likely would have said that.

My random guess:
PS5 = 1.3 million
Xbox = 100k
Steam = 350k
Ubisoft + = 250k

I’m going to jump in once FSR4 comes to it whether through the driver or from Ubi itself.

Until then, no buy.

there's nothing impressive about this number at all, 2 million PLAYERS in 48 hours is TERRIBLE for AAA flagship franchise. For comparison, Monster Hunter Wilds SOLD 8 million in 72 hours.

Ubisoft put up these PR routines to drum up hype in first few days after release.

When sales number is good, companies will have no problem sharing units sold. This game is DOA

no way PS5 can sell 21 times more than PC, if this game can react 1.3 million with PS5 alone they would not go with 1 million player milestone

The budget is also 5% of asscreed"s budget so it evens out🤷‍♂️

Eh....then there's the fact that Hi Fi Rush didn't come to PS for over a year. Just don't think this is comparable. We won't really know anything until the next financial report if Ubisoft doesn't reveal any more numbers.

Passed Origins and Odyssey. Ok, but the most recent games are Mirage and Valhalla.

It would be like EA promoting their latest FC game has more launch players than FIFA 18.

2 million PLAYERS. Not sales, players.

And seeing the monetization in this game, I'll skip it even if I was interested at first. I have self respect.
Do you not have self control? There is not a singal thing you need to buy from the store to play and enjoy the game.

Hi-Fi Rush
- Never made the NPD Charts.
- Never made the GSD Europe top 20 charts.
- HiFi Rush launched in January 2023. Didn't reach 2 million players until March. It didn't top 3 million players until August.
Is it known by now if Tango was closed due to financial performance or due to some restructuring? I think is was the only studio placed in Asia and maybe this was one of the reason.

Tango was closed because Ubisoft was running out of money after several mega bombs as they owners tried to protect their ownerships from being removed from them by investors.

As I mentioned previously, I have no issue with Naoe because she is completely fictional and Ubi can create whatever the sexuality of her as they wanted to.

Yasuke on the other hand, is real historical figure, with no record indicating he could be gay in feudal Japan. Such creative choice is clearly pandering to certain groups. And speak of consequence, this did sparked a huge debate all over the place, right? Is this necessary a good thing for the game?

Is the issue that being gay was some crazy thing in Feudal Japan? Cause it wasn't.

Being gay is also not some super rare thing that really needs any kind of justification behind it in a story.
We have no evidence he was straight. We know nothing of his sexuality.

2 million isn't bad... it's not good, but it isn't bad.

Probably not anywhere close to break even. Will maybe eventually get there, but there's
no hope of digging Ubisoft out of the financially catastrophic hole it's in...

It's transparent what they're trying to do here. Show anything that could be positive so more players will check the game out. "Millions of players? Game cant be that bad."

In a couple months we will get the real answers about how well this really did and I'm calling it now, it's going to result in layoffs or an even bigger company action.

Hey, don't shoot the messenger. Just letting you know how many other sexual orientations you need to stand up for and consider if you want to go down this road of attempting to be righteous when justifying the reasons for it's inclusion in the game.

The fact that you consider being appreciative of inclusion acting “righteous” says all that needs to be said about your brain rot. Good luck with that, little buddy. Clear it up and maybe you can rely on more than pathetic straw man arguments.

Companies typically don’t speak well of their own products nor try to build hype but thankfully we have people like you here who are smart enough to see through all of that. We are humbled, thank you.

It's simply based on what you're putting out there.

You clearly stated the following"

the option is there for those who want to feel more included?

That's a hell of an assumption to assert that this is the way that gay people would want to feel "included" in a videogame.

There’s nothing righteous there. You’re either desperate to find something here or you are just too low IQ to understand what righteous means. Either way, I don’t have a link to help you with that. Best of luck, little buddy.

What others might pecieve to be "righteous" based on your behaviour isn't up to you to decide.

We've had this twice now - you assuming that gay people would see value in being "included" in this way, and with you deciding that locals in foreign countries would become "accustomed" to seeing a black person. Neither of these assumptions of yours have come from a place of your own first hand experiences but yet you're here attempting to shut down people who have questioned both.

But yes darling, it is me who is low IQ.

Thanks to only few months of irrational emotional investment on the topic, we somehow moved from a point where people were questioning if these numbers (40-60K concurrent users) were decent enough to even justify 2-years-delayed Sony ports on PC, to celebrating them as proof of a SMASHING HIT for the day-one release of (former?) juggernauts like the AC franchise.

Yup. 40K players for Rebirth were low for an AAA game, but the idea was to compare it with other FF releases on Steam. But AC Shadows is a different beast. Not to mention day one on PC and Steam. 60K is pretty mid.

Which is why I would really love to see FF7 part 3 day one on Steam. It should hit 80-90K.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

But Shadows has already beaten the franchise record for CCU which puts it above those SMASHING HIT day one releases.

So what's the problem then? It's already seemingly doing better than the previous entries.

Off topic : Say what you want about the users in here but thank the heavens the mod team actually does a good job in weeding out all the insufferable, preachy, holier than thou and disingenuous posters in here, Manabyte has been literally one of the most cancerous posters in here lately.

Also : lol Bumblebeetuna Bumblebeetuna repeating his "little buddy" bullshit as to rile up others after backpedalling about 10 times.
Again, like most of these people, self awareness = zero.

And this is exactly the problem in here : 5-7 users (at most) trying to bring the whole place down with their insufferable nonsense - it's dog eat dog each and every day with them with a heavy dose of preaching and pseudo-politics sprinkled in.

I really dont know how we got here lads, a jab and/or a joke here and there are OK, the bullshit some specific games bring out of people though is just horrible, it's "woke" this, "chud" that, racism accusations, constant back and forth, constant whining and general pettiness - there's about 3 topics about this fucking slop of a game and in each and every one of them it's the same exact shit, why ?

Jesus Christ, the things people do over a product made by a multi-billion company (and a preachy one at that), I'd be laughing if it wasn't for the fact that it's actually sad.

Let's just all chill the fuck out 'cause it's been pretty hard visiting and trying to read the forums these past few days.
Maybe some people don't get it but everyone is allowed his/her own opinion, let's just try not to be fucking assholes about it with the c o n s t a n t accusations 'cause frankly, shit has ran its course.

Cheers

Man, I wish I could join in on the AC drama. Love opionated threads, always fun and interesting to read responses (unhinged & reasonable alike).

But sadly I left the franchise behind after Black Flag so I can't in good conscience voice my opinion on something I never had any intention of playing no matter the setting.

But I salute you all for providing great entertainment. 🫡
