Ha! I didn't realise Steve Burns was going to be the reviewer
Are you saying this is an issue?
Burns is a very good reviewer who is able to convey his thoughts well - both written and via video.

Videogamer seems to have encountered a lot of glitches, maybe they didn't get the day 1 patches? Or no one did?
They also have a video with glitches (mute recommended):

Don't mute unless you need to. Video is hilarious especially the conversation with an invisible man.

Kind of feel AC and CoD are at such a point it will take a truly awful game for the franchises to die.looking at the wide variety of scores,it looks just it's franchise fatigue..some people are gonna be ok with ANOTHER assassin's creed..other might be harsher after the Nth release

"I hope you don't mind me being here?"
" quite the contrary, it is nice to have the company. "
I trust videogamers 5. They may goof around in their videos, but their reviews are generally solid.
Gamepro.de a very suprising 87.
[a quick and dirty pro-/contra translation]
+ lively, visually impressive London
+ beautiful soundtrack, successful setting
+ great facial animations
+ great-designed missions with good variation
+ good working game mechanics
+ motivating conquest of london territories.
+ working raw material and money management
+ stealth is an alternative to combat
+ game is demanding (difficulty wise) for the most parts
+ good structured story
+ many memorable characters
+ sympathetic heros
+ many main and side missions
+ dozens of optional activities
+ new bonus missions after first playthrough
+ gigantic game world
- looks worse than its predecessor
- german dubbing often out of sync
- trivial collecting
- to easy final chapter(s)
- present time story is silly/trival
- plot holes
overall sounds better then unity.
I'm literally dieing of laughter. Why don't they take sometime to develop the game, whats the rush??
Well, I feel this AC is very average. Very few changes, graphically it is a bit worse than Unity, missions are quite samey and boring. Story is ok I guess, nothing amazing. Combat is very repetitive and especially since there is very little enemy variety (like in all AC's but this feels somehow worse). UI is also worse than ever with the annoying circle around your character all the time (luckily you can adjust the HUD).
Jank is very bad in my opinion, maybe movement is little bit better than Unity but miles away from MGS5 for example. The "batman" hook helps a bit but it doesn't work as well as you would hope (not on Batman AK level).
The new base mechanism is nice. City itself is really amazing. Characters especially Evie is quite interesting. Historical figures are ok too...maybe a bit forced though.
All in all, I would give it a 6/10. If you are a London buff and enjoy history in general, I guess just the freeroam in historical London would elevate it to 7/10.
But a 9...never.
Pretty solid reviews overall, although I don't take them seriously very much.
Waiting for user impressions.
I've gone from "I'd never consider it until it was £10" to "hmmm, this looks tempting".
The combat looks a lot of fun, and the London setting looks pretty good.
But man, do I really need another huge hundred hour opus when I've got Mad Max and TW3 sitting there unfinished :-/
I'm literally dieing of laughter.
Ubisoft were very smart to not mention the game's resolution. Practically none of the reviews mention the 900p resolution, unlike last year where it got a special place as one of Unity's highlights.
It's not like it's a single studio doing a new game every year. It's split between different divisions and studios working in a two/three year cycle. So they do take time to develop the game.
Dude, play TW3 first. What are you thinking?![]()
Watching select Youtubers playing this and I'm not seeing great facial animations at all.
You seriously found that funny? Wow...
lol french magazine getting all french salty because syndicate is the better game and is set in London and not in glorious Paris like unity
The scores are decent enough. It goes from 4's to 9's, pretty diverse.
5 sounds like the most honest review so far.
oh similar to CoD I always thought it was the same studio every year like damn. Surprised that it could look worse than the previous title but that likely explains it and also the co-op emphasis
so the lower the score the more honest it is?
Downgrade in graphics is disappointing.
so the lower the score the more honest it is?
Seems like the bigger sites are all very impressed with it while the smaller review sites are taking issue with it. Is the game is really that divisive? When Game Informer gives it a 9 and someone else gives it a 5? What' going on here?
But then when you have some sites listing "no multiplayer" as a negative, I know what to think of that review. For me, no multiplayer is a plus. Get that junk out of the game and focus on the single player campaign.

Have you ever reviewed a game and gave it a 9 only for someone else to give it a 6?
Would it be fair for that reviewer to call you borderline dishonest if so?
so the lower the score the more honest it is?
To be fair they switched from baked lighting to dynamic time of day, so something was bound to give.Downgrade in graphics is disappointing.
Maybe the reviewer was playing with French dub? The lip sync looks off on all footage I seen.Maybe in cutscenes? No idea, just translated it rawley. Also not planning to buy this year's iteration tbh. PC Release is in November and FO4, Battlefront and the Bloodbrone DLC is enough for me.
