Ferrari 812...Superfast?
At some point you just run out of ideas.

!? How could you say no to that price? Unless there are other liabilities you have to take up with the property? Or it's in Fukashima?
It's more an issue with paperwork and being registered as a resident of a different prefecture , it's also 800+ km away from where we currently live so there's a lot of logistics involved, and the sale is subject to legal terms such as the current structure being demolished and removed within a certain time frame after transactions finalized and such.
believe it or not, while the price is super low, it isn't uncommon for units like this to come up for such a low price, properties and land in rural areas of japan are so undesirable to Japanese nationals (unless it's a tourist catch area) that they can barely give them away.
I often see relatively modern houses for sale, with deeds to the land they're built on, for under $10k all in.
Once I've enough time off of work and in a better position to make a move on some properties i'll probably do a thread on it.
Sounds cool. Idk if its come up but how did you end up in japanunless you were born there
That is insanely cheap.
Good place to retire.
After seeing the pic of your wife's new toy, my wife says, "why don't you love me enough to get me an R34?"
Lol. Hmm I wonder how low the F12s will dip...New Corvette C8 was just unveiled

Ha, not low enough.

Went into Lamborghini of Houston dealership a few days ago. Sales reps were very nice and chatted for a bit. Man those cars look amazing in person. Hurucan Spyder looked really good. Only $1,550 to lease one!
After putting $30,000 down
So assuming it's a 36 month lease, that's $2300 a month.
That's...surprisingly affordable. It explains why some younger people can drive them around. If you have a decent job, that's about 1 paycheck. So if you live at home, you've got the life.
Shit, I won't lie...and I've said it before...if I was still living with my parents, single, etc., I'd have a supercar. LOL. I know people who rent a house out in Long Island or an apartment, keep their rent around 1100-1400 and drive an exotic.

I just wanna live in a small cozy house with a small corner for my mancave and a nice garage for my car which should cost more than my house. It's all I need, who needs a big house anyway? I don't, you don't. We all need Lambos though, we do.

I'm doing that as well as soon as the rain clears. The stock Detroits are ugly as fuck and have curb rash so I'm dipping them black.Holy mother f
Are there restrictions on foreigners buying property in Japan? I just got back a month ago and even if it's remote AF I'd be down for that price lmao.
Ahem...In car related news. I'm probably going to plastidip my Civic Si's wheels because they're ugly as sin. Don't know how I managed 3 years.

See, I can make the payment on the Lambo but only 2.5k miles per year??? LMAO lame! I'd hit that in 2 months tops. Would have to own it.
Damn man, I average that a month, let alone a year.
Me too. I love driving. To own an exotic and only drive it 2.5k miles per year... that's almost all for show. That's the "hey rich old guy want a new toy to look at" leasing special I'm guessing.

Is anyone attending the Geneva Motor Show in March? I'll be there on the 10th if anyone wants to meet up.

How to suddenly be the talk of the entire office in one step:
1. Get a Hellcat
My current place has a solid concrete floor, insulated walls and maybe 16' ceilings. But I rent and can't install a lift. :'(
Yeah I just looked and it's actually 2495 a month for a LP580-2. 30K down, 36 months, 2.5k miles a year.
The 1500 was for a Gallardo they have on the lot
e: $5,685 for a 2016 Aventador Pirelli edition - 40k down, 39 months
wheewwwwww
That's so funny that you say that because I know someone exactly like that...

Lol living with your parents, but you're driving a Lambo HURACÁN
Or a Shelby GT350R
I kept telling them this is just a loaner. And the comments were like "if that's what they loan you, I can't imagine what you actually drive!". Ugh. When she got the job years back, I told her to always park far where people don't know it's our car. And she does. But still, over time people realize.
Was this with the preventative fix?I work in the tech industry in the Bay Area so most good companies around here will have a parking lot full of nice cars, but a general glance will yield an observation of a lot of Japanese cars or Electric/Hybrid cars for the more practical employees and the Tesla/BMW/Audi/Mercedes for other employees.
I drive an 18 year old Camry as my daily driver, but a few times I had to take my old Porsche Boxster 2005 to the office since someone in my family will need the Camry. People definitely talked about the Porsche since, surprisingly, it was the only Porsche in all the lots for our campus.
I didn't like the attention once people started figuring out who drove it. People seemed to give me the impression that I was showing off. But in actuality, I absolutely love driving that car all around the countryside and hills at night and on weekends. I loved that car, unfortunately, it suffered an IMS bearing failure end of last year...so I no longer have it.
At least I still have my Camry. When people realized my Porsche Boxster is no longer in working condition, their usual responses at work bordered on,"You should've just got a practical car like mine."

Nah, looks definitely like a ViperDefinitely more Corvette to me, based on first looks. Its the slowly rising hoodline vs the Vette line plus the way the roofline goes + the rear is waaay more Vette in my eyes.
Don't get me wrong, I love it. But just our comments and posts in this thread should shed light that this isn't some crazy exotic vehicle. It's a Dodge in a $20k body, lol
I think the difference between NeoGaf's AutoGaf group and the outside world is that we actually appreciate all forms of automobiles here. I haven't been a part of AutoGaf for as long as some members here, but I get the feeling that most of us enjoy everything from the Focus RS, BRZ, F-150, Civic to the exotics like the GT3RS, 488, P1, DB11, etc.
Nope, original part. I opted not to go with the preventative fix since the few places I called around at said that the aftermarket IMS replacements aren't guaranteed against breaking a few years down the line as well.
Looking back, I should've taken the chance on them. There were no usual signs that my car would be one of the unlucky few in the generation of Porsche engines that would suffer from it (e.g. metal shavings in oil, sound of the engine, weird electronic errors, etc.). I figured probability is on my side.
Oh well.
On the bright side, I learned an important lesson from all this: Only get used Toyota/Lexus, get a new everything else. I've applied it by getting a new Porsche Cayman 718.
Was curious about that in terms of recommending that car to people with the fix. Thanks!
Any picture you can post of it?
I haven't seen the new ones except for blog posts from Car and Driver so far. I remember them looking huge though, bigger than previous generations.

Yeah, that's just very bad luck. When they removed my bearing to replace it with an LN part, it was still good.
Congrats on the 718 purchase though. That thing looks great.
Mine has the fix, went with LN Engineering's version (dual row style bearing, I think). Used it for about 5000 miles now. Seems to be ok.
It does look fucking HUGE! But in a good way. Doesn't look bloated like most trucks. Very muscular. I'll go take pics tomorrow when it stops raining.
BTW Bridgestone RE71-r = godlike tire. Not the ideal daily driver tire but everyone should own a set at least once. The grip is unbelievable and they can still be driven in the rain with no major issues even worn down to the wear bars. Definitely one of my favorite tires, gonna miss mine after I wear out this set and switch to the 595 RS-RR.
