It's a teeny half ton! Fortunately, the aluminum means the new Raptor is somewhat usable compared to the old one with its almost useless 1000lb payload.

Two people means you could only put 600lbs on the tongue. So basically, if you saw a Raptor with stuff in the bed or hauling, it was beyond capacity.

I hope RAM ends up making good on their concept TRX. That segment needs some variety and competition.

Detuned Hellcat Engine yes plz.

Don't think I'd ever consider either though, trucks are for hauling IMO.

I hope your fix keeps working. I honestly should've taken a chance on the fix. I've heard some people going on for years and tons of miles without problems, but apparently some autoshops in my area told me that no fixes guarantees anything since they've had some break down over time as well, while others go on forever.

Yeah, I'm hoping some of that is up to the varying quality of fixes and the varying quality with which the fixes are implemented. I didn't muck about myself, but had it done by a Porsche specialist. Fingers crossed.

Have to admit, that looming problem has taken a tiny bit of fun out of owning the car. Even with it being 'taken care of'.*

Still, my odds should be a little better at least.

I haven't received the 718 Cayman yet, it's supposed to come in at the end of the month so I'm definitely looking forward to driving on the countryside roads and hills after I get it. The weather is unfortunate with the rain and everything but it should still be nice.

* Which is why I'm just ever so slightly envious of the man who's in the position to buy a shiny new 718. One of the absolute best looking roadsters I've ever seen. I'll just have to comfort myself with the thought that my humble 986 still has a flat six .

Honestly, your car has probability working in your favor. I did, too, but unfortunately I fell into the small percentage that had the IMS failure. There's a reason why Porsche really only has a couple or few notable problems throughout the years (e.g. IMS bearing failure, GT3RS engine for certain generations, etc.). They build really good engines that last a while.

I live in the Bay Area, so it's not uncommon to see Porsche vehicles driving around on commutes to work, from work, and on weekend joy rides...and it always surprises me how many old models I see driving around. I've seen the 987, 986, 996, 993, and other models even older just cruising along and still going strong. While it's still heartbreaking to see a 987 or 986 driving around that looks in way worse condition than mine, while my car was immobile in my garage after the IMS failure...I have to say it's still nice to see those cars still around. So if you've been driving the car around a lot, then I think it's great. Enjoy it. These cars are meant to be driven and not garaged!

The sound of the 986, 987, and 981 are all amazing. It's the one thing I'll miss with the upcoming 718 Cayman. Unlike most online commenters or journalists, I don't have a problem with the new 718 Boxster/Cayman's sound, but there was something melodic in the 986/987/981's sound as you revved through the range that is definitely missing in the new 718. But I'll post more impressions after I get the car!

I think another reason is that this is just a general automotive thread. Every other car forum I'm on is brand specific so there's less differences in taste.

That's true. Some other forums I visit that are brand specific can be kind of boring though. Not much variety, or too much nitpicking about which options to get. I wish more people at Neogcf were into cars so that this thread gets updated more, but I enjoy just browsing through and seeing what's new or what everyone is finding hot.

For instance, I've never been into hot hatches, SUV's, Ferrari, Lamborghinis, trucks, hummers, etc. but through this thread, I found newfound appreciation for them. Like the poster above who asked about the Shelby made me look up what the newer models look like and reviews just out of curiosity and I think it looks and sounds pretty awesome.

What are the odds that walking around yesterday I spotted a parked red Testarossa (early launch model). And then yards past it was a black F430. And then half a block later, another red Testarossa (a facelifted model with body colored lower panels and clear glass turn signals)...and then yet another black F430 near it. LOL. There was no meet going on or anything. I just found the combination of cars and color so odd.

And of course, I took pics like an excited school girl.

Get the GT350. It beats the pants off of the Camaro inside and out. It's chassis isn't much like a regular Mustang, anyway. And the engine is 50x more special than a run-off-the-mill Chevy small block.

I won't stop you. I love the GT350's and don't listen to the haters. It's by far the best Mustang in a good long while and has a pretty special motor. If I had the scratch I would be looking at one pretty hard.

2014 535i m sport certified. Picked it up last Friday actually. Been too busy n raining to take better pics than the one at the dealership. My wife's always wanted one and with the g30 coming out it was the right time.

Yup, the new Camaro is almost perfect mechanically. It blows my mind that it costs as much as my M235i but it's way better in every way except fuel economy and practicality. Even the interior felt better than my M235i.

The GT350 just has a "it" factor. You can get a Roush S3 and destroy the 350, but it doesn't matter. That flat plane crank with header back exhaust and its looks are just magic. Its one of the few "affordable" cars with that factor.

When I was test driving 550s before I bought my M56S, the ONLY ones that had paddle shifters were the M-Sport cars. Non M-Sport had the standard steering wheel.

Wow. So M-Sport Package required the $500 Sport Trans option, which gave you the paddles. I can't believe the Sports Trans wasn't included with M-Sport.

BMW are such cunts. But now 550s have paddles as standard.

Yesterday I purchased a 2015 Genesis. They were having a sale on one of the newer G37s at the dealer at $34k, but that was out of my budget and I fundamentally am against buying cars *brand new*, so I shoot for gently used.

I have always found the process of buying (and paying for) a car a necessary evil, but this is the first time I've purchased a new car that I *love*. We were *TRYING* to buy white with black interior or black/black, but some of these dealers were straight trippin. Wife calls this Superman blue. I call it Sonic blue. We actually went to this dealer to look at an Infinity Q50 after we found the G37 to be too small for luxury, but I hated how the console would rub against my knee. This Genesis was out of my price range, so I basically made the poor-mouth and said it was out of our price range, but we'll sit in it because we've already test-driven a few. We left after that. Wife was mad/exhausted/etc.

Dealer called me within hours and dropped the price by almost $3k. I said I would come see him the next day and shake his hand on the deal, and we did.

The Genesis interior is so large, I can literally sit in the driver's seat sprawled out as if I were sitting on my couch, while a 6'4 car salesman can sit in the backseat with *extra* room. Wife said that all I needed was my gaming laptop and I'd be set, lol!

Man, I CANNOT get enough of that winged Genesis logo.

Took a closer look at my front tires, man I knew studded winter tires are the devil. A lot of the studs are gone from the front. They are good for another winter if I rotate from rear to front, but still. And Ive tried to hold back blasting off, but sometimes you just get unexpected wheelspin, like when you are stupid and do a cheeky rev before take off spooling up the turbo.

A friend of mine actually got a '16 for his wife as well and already started doing some mods so Ill let him test things out and see if its all worthwhile

We have the original warranty 'til july next year and the CPO till july 2020 (we also extended the service contract 2 years so it matches up)

So theres a chance I might just wait till then to really mess around.

Went for a longer drive yesterday with my newly installed Milltek non-resonated non-valved catback and the volume and drone is unbearable to me. Going back to stock catback non-resonated with valves on, this Wednesday.

Guess it is true that hatchbacks / wagons have the "entire exhaust system under the passenger cabin" so to speak so the exhaust noises are very apparent. Doesn't help that the MK7 R just doesn't make good sounds. Oh well, hope I can sell this thing quickly.
