break in period on its last third, hard to keep throttle discipline.
Haha looks like it's smiling at you
Just fyi, don't do too many highway at constant speed, not good for break in.

Went for a longer drive yesterday with my newly installed Milltek non-resonated non-valved catback and the volume and drone is unbearable to me. Going back to stock catback non-resonated with valves on, this Wednesday.
Guess it is true that hatchbacks / wagons have the "entire exhaust system under the passenger cabin" so to speak so the exhaust noises are very apparent. Doesn't help that the MK7 R just doesn't make good sounds. Oh well, hope I can sell this thing quickly.

So, two pairs of Jack stands in a level garage to lift an entire car and rotate tires... bad idea?
Borla catbacks are probably some of the best sounding ones for the golf. I've heard good things of awe tuning's catback as well. I hate drone and extremely shitty loud cars.A friend of mine had the borla catback for his 7R and it sounded great. I didn't have a chance to ride in it with that setup though so no word on drone but I believe it was valved although coded to be open all the time. He went through a couple different exhaust setups before settling with the borla.
If your tires are directional you can just do one side at a time
Well obviously, you've got 707hp, a shit ton of torque but only 275 tires in the rear which is hilarious.Half throttle and the back end already starts squirming.
I set the GPS to warn me anytime I go 6mph over the speed limit.
It's gone off about 40 times in 150 miles of driving :-/

Took my mom out for a spin this weekend. Still only at ~400 miles, so didn't want to get on it too much. That said, took it from a rolling start at ~5mph on an on-ramp to ~4K rpm, shift to 2nd, hit about 4K rpm .... .... and we're speeding, lmao
Half throttle and the back end already starts squirming. I'm doing my damnest to "respect the beast." Just isn't worth getting cocky in.

Isn't having nuclear amounts of horsepower under your right foot just the coolest thing ever? Hehe.

Yeah also the 485hp Challenger Scat Pack comes with 245s in the rear.Lmao 275's in the rear? Had to look it up for myself. That is a fucking joke, a very dangerous one. My M5 has 250 less BHP at the least and defintely half of the peak torque of the Hellcat. And I run 275's all around... With 700 BHP I'd expect at least 305's, ideally 325-345mm of tire. You're fucked if that thing starts to spin, because it's so easy to overwhelm that kind of tire with that kind of torque.

Sweet haul, but is that really a 2015? I thought they switched fully to Genesis branding this year or last. And it looks brand new. How many miles on it?
Congrats you two. We have some great looking rides in this thread! Enjoy them.
Wow, that's a looker. Congratulations! I think you picked a great car. Just watched a few video reviews of it online.
Serious, that interior looks like a fantastic place to be.
Any car where the trunk or hatch space is exposed to the driver will have unbearable amounts of drone. 350Zs and 370Zs with the wrong exhaust were absolutely horrible. In most other cars, the trunk acts as a second barrier that tones down a lot of the drone, seeing as how trunks are heavily carpeted, insulated, closed off from the cabin, AND have accessories stored (including a tire).
Hatches? Nope. Nothing. A direct entrance to your ear. LOL.

Awesome! :)
There is little to fear about constant speeds in the daily commute as it is mostly stop and go at the moment (equally bad, I know). Accumulated average speed is less than 45km/h for the 700-ish kilometers.
For the few and far between moments of unhindered acceleration, the Fiesta pulls surprisingly well.

Shouldn't be a problem, just take it slow and go in increments. Lift up one side, set it on the stands at the lowest level. Lift up the other and go a little bit higher, then a little higher on the first side, etc. until you have enough room for the work.
I do it all the time. Just make sure you're using blocks on top of the jack stands and the place you're putting the stand won't put strange forces on the top of the stand as you lift it up (or slide or rotate).
Go slowly, watch your stands, and you'll be fine.
Do you uhh, go under the car?

Now that the Snapchat spectacles are out, I'm thinking of getting some for making some quick videos of driving around. Might also be an amazing dash cam replacement for the crazy stuff that happens too
My car has almost half the horsepower of the Hellcat and comes 295 rears. I can still manage to break them loose by flooring it in slow corners.
Driving a Hellcat must be a ridiculously hilarious experience. Lol
Also, sorry I never posted impressions of the Macan Turbo. Been super busy. I'm not nearly eloquent enough like an actual car reviewer to do it justice anyway. All I'll say is it felt like the perfect sporty daily driver. Fast enough to have fun with, but not get you in too much trouble. Handles much lighter and more tightly than any 4,000lb SUV has the right to. Enough space and utility for a small family to boot.
My sister test drove a Macan in SoCal last week and is ordering an S through me.
Compared to the BMW X3, Mercedes GLC, and Audi Q5, I think it's the strongest contender in the segment, and I'm not just saying that because I work for Porsche. Had a chance to drive those as well recently and they don't compare. Even a base Macan for $47,500 offers great material quality and driving pleasure. I can see it being a lot of people's entry into the brand.
There was a brand new Raptor parked at my work today. Looks suuuuper nice - just small refinements across the board over the last model make it look much more slick.
That said - it's HUGE. One of my friends has a 2015 F-350, and the Raptor really didn't look that much smaller.

Oh yeah, totally reminds me. I took some pics of the Raptor at my house today. Hold up.
Such a great design. Definitely going to be my first truck.
Look what UPS brought me. I missed hearing my car while driving it. Was going to wait for the rest of the stuff to come in, but yeah, naw, I'm like a little kid. Will have it put on Thursday.
Doesnt it have a parking camera?Dude gets some mad props for backing it in perfectly between the lines. And from a size perspective, I couldn't imagine having to drive that thing around on regular roads and parking lots. But damn it would be so great to have when you have to leave the pavement.
Well, that's just going to be a bit louder than stock isn't it
I hope your fix keeps working. I honestly should've taken a chance on the fix. I've heard some people going on for years and tons of miles without problems, but apparently some autoshops in my area told me that no fixes guarantees anything since they've had some break down over time as well, while others go on forever.
I haven't received the 718 Cayman yet, it's supposed to come in at the end of the month so I'm definitely looking forward to driving on the countryside roads and hills after I get it. The weather is unfortunate with the rain and everything but it should still be nice.

This is not a thing that happens. They're big mean trucks made for big mean stuff that unfortunately only ever end up looking big and mean (once or twice a year they may go off road to validate the owner's purchase).
Yes I'm generalizing, but I've never seen a dirty Raptor. Just saying.
I plan to spend an afternoon doing a great detail and wax sometime in the next month and take some real glamour shots downtown. In the meantime, did a quick clean-up and snapped some slightly better pics than what I had before in my driveway.
Something about brown leather that just really gets me feeling things. Idk why. I've had it in three cars before, and it's easily my #1 preference for seating color.
